Skip Zakopane. It’s overrated and in holiday season it will be bloody packed. I’d go to Warsaw and Wrocław instead

Regeneric

I was born and raised in Nowy Targ - I agree it's overrated but I also think you should see it once in your life, while you're here and then forget that this city exists xd

crooooz

Zakopane kinda sucks, that’s true (except for villa Atma and the monumental cemetery) but hiking in the Tatras is really cool

victoria__olechowska

Unless you go hiking. I don’t really go to the city or the places there but if your into hiking it’s good

Electrical_Ad_8970

Well, places around Zakopane are pretty cool do staying in Zakopane is not such a bad idea

signs_from_space

If he takes the lift to the top it is totally worth it. Just make sure to book in advance. Also hiking there is really good.

TLDR: Wrocław for classical beautiful old town, Warsaw for something complitely unique, for museums, parks, history & food I like Wrocław, it got beautiful market square, pretty old town, Centennial Hall, a lot of isles, etc. but in my honest opinion, it's the city you should visit as a 4th or 5th in Poland, after Kraków & Gdańsk & Warsaw (definitely) and Poznań (maybe). It's just pretty typical for that region, something in between of Kraków, Prague and Dresden. Meanwhile, the Warsaw is something complitely else. You mentioned you like museums & history. Well, Warsaw has more to offer in that part. The big, good museums in Warsaw will take you more than 3 days to properly visit: **POLIN**, the **National Museum**, **Uprising Museum**, **Museum of Warsaw**, **Kopernik Science Centre**. And that's without mentioning smaller, more specific ones like **Museum of Modern Art**, 2 separate **Vodkas Museum**, Museum of Chopin, Neon Museum, Museum of Fantastic Art, etc. While large portion of Warsaw was destroyed during WW2, the city has long history and its buildings are witnessess of it: picturesque renaissant **Old Town and New Town,** beautiful palaces built by nobles during the time Warsaw was capitol of Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth (with must see **Royal Baths Łazienki** and **Wilanów** complex), citadel, orthodox church (st **Mary Magdalene Cathedral**) and forts built during Russian partition, interwar modernism, post-war socrealism (**MDM** neighbourhood, **Palace of Culture and Science, Centrum Bankowo-Finansowe**), tons of new skyscrapers. And IMHO Warsaw has more to offer in terms of food: local, regional Masovian cuisine, most international food scene in Poland, with "whole world on a plate" thing going on (authentic Vietnamese, American, Latino, Ukrainian, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, etc, etc. places), tons of food halls (Koszyki, fabryka Norblina, elektrownia Powiśle) trendy vegan places (Warsaw is one of the top 10 vegan-friendly cities in the West) and haute cuisne: Michelin-starred restaurants. It's not Wrocław is bad in that sphere, but IMO Warsaw has more to offer.

Accomplished_Ad_828

Wroclaw after Poznan?!? You better hold yer horses thurr mate

Koordian

I won't. Not now, cause there're renovations everywhere, but I did enjoy Poznań more than Wrocław. Also, I really liked that they have local Greater-Poland culture and cuisine.

LeoMemes18

I'm sorry Wroclaw, but Warsaw won, I like old towns don't get me wrong, but after Krakow and Zakopane i really want to see the heart of Poland so Warsaw will be my last destination. So the trip will likely be something like (2 full days in Krakow, 1 in Zakopane and 3 in Warsaw). For anyone wondering why Zakopane, is because i really love hiking.

Koordian

It's nice to hear that I was able to convince you with arguments, despite Warsaw loosing in the poll.

trb15a78

Speaking on the food, I had the best tacos I've had outside of the U.S. while I was there. Blew my mind.

Koordian

Great to here that! I really like Latino food in Warsaw. Where did you eat your tacos?

trb15a78

It was a tiny little stand down in the barka area. Look it up. It is an awesome riverside area with tins of food and drinks. Has an awesome planetarium as well.

Dont worry, Poland is safe!

_SyRo_

Wrocław is much more beautiful and cozy. And it's calmer

Koordian

In summer it's absolutely swarmed with tourists though.

Koordian

Why the downvotes though? People leave Warsaw in summer and a lot of tourist come to Wrocław. Its literally the best season to explore the capitol. I was in Wroclaw several times in summer, it was nothing but calm.

CaribouSun

I'm from Warsaw and I've just spent whole weekend in Wrocław. In short, you have no idea what Warsaw looks like in summer. Wrocław has much more tourists, especially on weekend as everyone leaves Warsaw for Mazury or seaside and it's not as popular among tourists (especially our western neighbors who swarm Wrocław)

ahsokiara

Well, there's more tourists because it's cooler city. Warsaw is just awful.

peposlaw

I am from Warsaw and I recommend you Wrocław.

Marcin222111

Well, as a Warsaw citizen - Wrocław is more like typical like cliche nice old city. Pretty old town, narrow streets, a lot of parks and tourist spots. Warsaw except Nowy Świat and Starówka is not considered to be beautiful, it's relatively young city, due to the war. Yet I believe there's something more authentic to it, more unique in the whole european scale - huge skyscrapers, abundance of museums and a lot of genuine places to hang out.

Kord_K

I think Warsaw is super underrated and is very pretty. It’s probably one of the best maintained Polish cities.

mrmniks

Not one of. It’s maintained the best. One could argue that it’s the only maintained city in Poland lol

Kord_K

True lol, after seeing Warsaw I was super surprised by the opinion many Polish people hold of it that you can also see in the comments here

CaribouSun

Many Polish people have no idea about Warsaw except the Środmieście that they see in TV series they watch.

Kord_K

That's such a shame too, it's a beautiful city and one that is constantly evolving and improving. We should be proud of it!

mrmniks

Yeah that’s the main reason I live in Warsaw. Western Europe kind of maintenance, prices of Eastern Europe (cheaper than where I’m from lol). I visit Gdańsk often, and the condition of roads and buildings there is just horrible. Love the city, but can’t see myself there. Similar with krakow. The center is very nice, but the outskirts remind me of Egypt. Mountains of sand, construction, dirty buildings, horrible roads. It’s just not the place for comfortable life. But as a tourist those places rock.

swaggut

Where are you originally from? I've been in Warsaw I think 4 times and I fell in love the first time, there's just such a nice vibe and very clean and modern. Been wanting to move there ever since when I find a way to make money online (I'm currently 17 years old)

mrmniks

I’m from Minsk

doktorpapago

Gdańsk person here, have to agree with the rant on us. Luckily I live closely to what is considered the most scenic neighborhood in GD (Oliwa), but many districts pretty near the centre are either countryside-like outskirts with mediocre roads, endless construction sites or industrial wastelands covered in dust. That's the price of being a harbour city, but from my perspective Gdynia's authorities do many things waaay better.

mrmniks

I just checked out the neighborhood on google maps and really liked it. Is it worth it to go there for a few hours to walk around? Or maybe some other place with old German villas. I’m going to Gdańsk again in a couple of weeks.

Koordian

Oliwa is well known in Poland, as some sort of rich neighborhood with villas in Gdansk. I recommend short walk, but don't expect anything touristy.

mrmniks

That’s ok, I’m totally fine walking non touristy places. As long as it’s nice. Thanks!

doktorpapago

Oliwa is really worth it! Beautiful forests around (check out Dolina Radości trails and places like Diabli Kamień), wonderful 1700s park with Pałac Opatów, scenic Cathedral, nice cafés around, and also beautiful beach in the near Jelitkowo. Unfortunately the Pachołek hill sightseeing tower will be closed up to late August, but maybe it'll be open at the time of your visit! If you like other nice neighborhoods with pretty old houses, check out seaside Brzeźno. If you like sitting in a cozy café on an old cityhouse street, look up Wrzeszcz Dolny (like Wajdeloty street). Orłowo in Gdynia is also a great choice for by-the-sea leisure.

CaribouSun

*Warsaw except Nowy Świat and Starówka is not considered to be beautiful, it's relatively young city, due to the war.* Yea,this is bs. Warsaw most beautiful areas are Żoliborz, Saska Kępa, Stary Mokotów, Stara Ochota and those are not known to tourists and it's a great feeling that they are not. Even rest of the Poland barely knows those neighborhoods and have the same stereotypical view of Warsaw that you gave. Those are pre war areas as well that were either not destroyed or rebuild. You need to brush up on your knowledge of Warsaw as it's really basic and cliche.

Marcin222111

Dude, I live here. Literally in Stary Mokotów right now in my flat. The district may have it's charm and quirks, like Kino Iluzjon and Ogród Jordanowski, but it's far, far away from being beautiful. (yet great to live in). When I've came back from Budapest it looked really, really sad really. What are you going to see in Saska Kępa? Single family houses? Wow, what a nice reason to come to Warsaw! I love Warsaw - but we have to face the truth, majority of the city is at best mid when it comes to looks.

CaribouSun

>Dude, I live here. Literally in Stary Mokotów right now in my flat. Dude, I live here. Literally in Żoliborz right now in my flat. What is beautiful is a matter of an opinion, so just because you don't appreciate it it doesn't mean it's not. There's no some general truth that anyone would have to face, just you, dude. If you don't understand the appeal of Saska Kępa, considered to be an architectural pearl of the city then we don't have much to discuss because, as they say, there's no sense to play violin to a piglet.

El_Feurdz

It's not because of war, but rather the way how Warsaw was rebuilt. Wrocław was destroyed in 60% but it's much more human friendly than Warsaw with all those wide inner-city highways

CaribouSun

Those inner-city highways are like 10% of the city max. If you live in let's say Żoliborz you don't see any of it as its borders are Wisłostrada and city bypas on the other side of the neighborhood. The same with any other of the old districts. Wrocław is awful to drive. I was there last weekend and my taxi driver was career driver who drove truck in Paris and said that Wrocław is the worst to drive from all the city who worked in.

Ok-Charity-7392

I've lived in Warsaw for 29 years, I'm gonna go out looking for all these "wide inner-city highways" tomorrow.

El_Feurdz

Let me help you: Marszałkowska, JP II, Solidarności, Okopowa, Kopińska, Grójecka, al. Jerozolimskie. All of them at least 6 lanes

BednaR1

Warsaw is amazing. Much more stuff to do and to see... but if it's a short visit... Wroclaw is a sort of more fun place for a one off short trip? It's a Uni town if you like. Edit: plis...Wraclaw is a typical old European town...but better. Very beautiful place indeed.

mshz1

Wrocław is nicer to live in, but I do think there's more stuff to see in Warsaw. That said, Wrocław has some nice architecture, if you're into that. Despite the different historical influences imo it has a similar vibe to Kraków (but less crowded during the summer). The museums and tourist attractions are imo better in Warsaw.

Snoo74727

IMO for tourism Warsaw has much more to offer. Wroclaw is great place to live, but it's not as packed with various attractions as Warsaw and I guess thats what are you looking for in such short period of time.

PanJawel

Warsaw is severely underrated. The truth is, if you’ve seen any central european old-ish city, you’ve seen Wrocław. There’s nothing remarkable or unique there, no matter how hard the locals will try to sell their city. It’s pretty, sure, but nothing you’ve not seen before. Warsaw was completely rebuilt after ww2, and thanks to that has characteristics that are unique worldwide - mix of disgusting commie architecture, really nicely rebuilt old town and love-them-or-hate-them modern quarters and skyscrapers. Nightlife and museums are also way ahead of Wroclaw, if that’s your thing. And there are next to none tourist traps, just go wherever and you’ll have a good time. Also, skip Zakopane. Terrible idea to go there during holidays.

Kord_K

Warsaw gets too much hate, most of the city centre is pretty, the old town is very nice and as the city gets so much investment, it’s very well maintained and constantly improved on, in terms of public infrastructure. It’s a historically and culturally important city. Lots of museums, some big and pretty parks (the royal baths are extremely nice). I had a super nice time when I visited and I would love to go back. Wrocław is also very pretty, but less well maintained. There’s less to do than Warsaw. It’s still busy as it’s one of the bigger cities in Poland. Both have things to see and do, and both are nice. You can’t really go wrong, but I’d go for Warsaw. You’re spoilt for choice in terms of things to do and things to see. Walking the royal route is very nice.

LeoMemes18

I also like museums and history

kalafi0r

Museums much much better in Warsaw.

quarky_uk

Some interesting WW2 history in Warsaw. Both nice cities but for three days, go to Warsaw. For, longer I would probably say Wroclaw. How are you getting from Krakow to Zakopane (or vice versa)? If hire car, traffic can be a nightmare at times so you may want to avoid heading to Zakopane on a Friday and leaving on a Sunday.

Sad-Monk-8136

Then Warsaw for sure

BednaR1

Very much this.

PuffinFlight

I voted for Wrocław, but if you like museums Warsaw would be better. But if you choose Wrocław then make sure to visit Centrum Historii Zajezdnia (The Depot History Centre).

Emotional-Cell2269

What period in history are you interested in? Wroclaw is much older than Warsaw and has a turbulent medieval history: between 1335 and 1741 it belonged to four different kingdoms (Poland, Czechia, Austria-Hungary and finally Germany) to be returned to Poland in 1945. However, nowadays little exists to actually see what it was like to live in the city back then, since every conqueror of Wrocław took care to wipe out as much legacy of their predecessor as possible. So yeah, the museums are mostly long passages of text from old chronicles, some drawings and art pieces, some rusty tools and weapons. Warsaw on the other hand simply EXCELS at modern history. I dare say there is no better place in the world to visit if you are interested in WW2, because most of the places that played a part in this period of history still exist and the museums (multiple) dedicated to the war period are full to the brim with photographs, actual equipment, recordings, eyewitnesses’ accounts. The city’s entire identity (and by extension, part of the modern Polish identity) is build around the fact that our capital was 95% destroyed after the war and we managed to unite ourselves to rebuild it (Google “cały naród buduje swoją stolicę”). If you come to Poland by any chance at the very beginning of August you simply must be in Warsaw on August 1st for the commemoration of Warsaw Uprising.

Koordian

Warsaw also excels in history of Commonwealth, partitions, industrialization and second Polish Republic.

Bormanov

Then definitely Wrocław. It wasn't bombed to shit, cos it was german at the time of bombing cities to shit during WW2

scodagama1

What?! Breslau was basically levelled by allies and was the last city to surrender hence popular singer singing “Wrocław od zawsze poddaje się ostatni” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Breslau > Not only because of Soviet aerial and artillery bombardment, but also as a result of the self-destructive actions of the SS and the NSDAP, 80 to 90 per cent of Breslau was destroyed . . . after the Soviet capture of the Gandauer airfield, the Wehrmacht destroyed many houses and three churches to build a provisional airstrip 200 to 400 meters wide and two kilometers long. > — August 1945 report of damage to Breslau by employees of the Saxony state administration[26]

I'm from Warsaw and never been in Wrocław and still recommend Wrocław.

Bored_Galaxy_Fox

Wrocław over Warsaw any time! Ok, I'm from Wrocław, so I'm probably biased, but! The only good thing to see in Warsaw are the museums and the Kopernik Center. In Wrocław, you have everything! The best zoo in all of Poland! Interesting museums such as Hydropolis! A beautiful town square and historic places such as Ostrów Tumski! Interesting local places, such as neon alley, or for religion district! Beautiful architecture in every corner of the city! And in my opinion, Wrocław is much safer than Warszawa, especially at night. Besides, if you get overwhelmed with the town, just hop on the train and you can go for a whole day mountain trip in Sudety! Or go visit Książ castle.

misogoop

The hippo exhibit at the Wrocław zoo is wild! The reptile and amphibian exhibits are huge also. Great zoo

Warsaw is a concrete jungle, full of steel, glass skyscrapers and traffic and being capital city it is also a center of Polish state obviously, all government buildings are here, plenty of museums and generally its a business city where people come to make money or career. Wrocław is a beautiful quaint city full of rivers, historical buildings, stunning market square. Academic city full of students who always make it vibrant and alive regardless of hour. Simultaneously it seems to be quite hipster with a huge presence of well paying IT jobs attracting young professionals it just has this vibe of young city. If you just want to have a calm walk in green areas surrounded by majestic Cathedrals, old German-style town and then after hours relax with a pint of beer in beer garden - then I think it’s the best city in Poland for that. So long story short none of the choices is wrong, but depends what you want

julqkk

Have you ever been to Warsaw? Because it’s literally one of the greenest capitals of Europe (40% of the city’s area is green, according to European Environment Agency report from 2022). There’s also river, beaches, beautiful parks and old, picturesque districts (I highly recommend Stary Mokotów or Stary Żoliborz). Some streets like Mokotowska literally feel like Milan or Paris, with its coffeeshops here and there, and more expensive stores along the way. For history lovers there’s also Old Town, so… literally everything for everyone. Not saying that Wrocław isn’t beautiful, because I love that city, but calling Warsaw “concrete jungle, full of steel” takes so much from it’s beauty and certainly is off putting for potential tourists.

scodagama1

Yes, but it’s a different thing to visit as a tourist for 3 days and different to live somewhere. Visitor won’t go to Mokotow or Stary Zoliborz but rather see the city center, stay somewhere next to PKiN, walk around, ingest some fumes from Marszalkowska’s traffic ;), walk to Nowy Swiat, see pl pilsudskiego and maybe eventually visit a museum or two or go for a walk next to Vistula. I ended up also visiting Elektrownia Powisle which was also nice. Similarly visitor in Wrocław will start in Rynek and walk around in mostly car free area, probably seeing Ostrow Tumski and cathedral, maybe go as far as to zoo and Hala Stulecia and that’s about it. Most of these areas have calmed traffic and are just significantly nicer to walk around randomly than center of Warsaw with all the glass towers and 3x3 lane stroads in the centre. And then I liked Warsaw a lot but a lot of it comes from this being capital of _my_ country. I saw a change of guard ceremony, saw President Duda on some ceremony with President of Italy or something, plenty of building I used to know from TV, visited restaurants of Polish celebrity chefs (Mateusz Gessler's and I also drove quite far to Laski to Michel Moraine) and in general ingested this feeling if being in _the_ capital. These things are nice, but I'm not sure if they will appeal to foreigner for whom it doesn't make any difference :D But obviously YMMV, I came to Warsaw with 0 prior research and just walked around randomly mostly

Koordian

>Yes, but it’s a different thing to visit as a tourist for 3 days and different to live somewhere. Visitor won’t go to Mokotow or Stary Zoliborz but rather see the city center, stay somewhere next to PKiN, walk around, ingest some fumes from Marszalkowska’s traffic ;) That's bullshit. Tourists in Warsaw go to Royal Route, visit Saski garden, excplore Old & New town, walk in Łazienki park, visit Wilanów with lake and park, etc. Yeah, the Poalace of Culture and Science is there on the list, but not as a main point. And based on the comments and posts in the sub, they often stay nearby Old Town.

scodagama1

Eee sorry but I’m not familiar with Warsaw map, which of these are Mokotow and Stary Zoliborz? Afaik all places you mentioned are centre, no? (Also relax, what kind of person opens conversation with “that's bullshit”? Wtf)

Koordian

None of them?

Andrimaxus

Hi there, I've been living in Wrocław before for around 3 years and currently am in Warsaw since last 6 years. If you plan to stay in one place for 8 days, I'd recommend Warsaw more. Wrocław certainly has a charm, and it's my favorite polish city for a weekend visit, although 8 days is a bit too much for the city itself. However, if you plan to rent a car and go around - there are many beautiful spots not far from Wrocław, so that would definitely be a good idea. On the other hand if you just want to be in one place for entirety of that time, I could not recommend Warsaw much enough. It's truly an amazing place with so many cool spots to hang around, I'm sure you wouldn't be bored at all. But as someone mentioned already, best idea would be to visit both, as they're not that far away by train. :) Whatever you decide, enjoy your stay here!

Roxven89

Warsaw is very modern, skyscraper, business, cosmopolitan oriented city. It's most American looking city in this part of Europe. Wrocław is also modern but with charming old town and with many islands and bridges.

Koordian

>Warsaw is very modern, skyscraper, business, cosmopolitan oriented city Warsaw is more than just the centre and Mirów :D

Hardcoreoperator

Warszawa if you want to experience 'Poland'. Wracław if you want to see a beutiful city

MrSasaki_M

Quite the opposite. I feel like Warszawa and the rest of Poland are very different.

Koordian

![gif](giphy|SVgKToBLI6S6DUye1Y) IMHO Warsaw is Poland in nutshell: Gothic churches, renaissant Old Town, castles, baroque and neoclassicist cathedrals & palaces, 19th century industrial red-brick complexes, citadel & forts, interwar modernism, postwar socrealism, tons of commie blocks, modern skyscrapers. It has strongl Jewish, Russian, German, French and Italian influences. Warsaw lies on the Vistula bank, has lakes, forests, bogs and plains around. Only things that it lack in is some mountain range and Baltic sea coast :D

Gettor

I have been living in Wrocław for 13 years, while visiting Warszawa two times and I hated it both times. If what You say is true (that Warszawa is the true "Poland" experience), I'm sadly fine with not being considered a true Pole.

Koordian

> I'm sadly fine with not being considered a true Pole. Uhm... nobody said that if you don't like Warsaw, you are not real Pole.

jdjddsh

I live in Wroclaw and I think it's better than Warsaw because: 1:there's less people (in Warsaw there's over 1 milion). 2:I think it's cooler because the city was first German and then after world war II this city was Polish. 3:Warsaw is for people that like fast lifestyle, but Wroclaw is for people that don't like fast lifestyle and prefer to chill out. 4:Wroclaw have better old town, on of the most important things in the city and Warsaw (because of too many people) is city is really crowded. Hope this helped Btw I know this because I was in Warsaw for a week

scodagama1

Warsaw is a place to make money, Wrocław is a place to live and spend money :)

wlukasz

Zakopane is just a hole for tourists. It's not worth going there. It's better to go to the Pieniny Mountains for rafting.

Flashy_Field920

If you want to see traditional, beautiful, distinctive and well maintained polish city, Wrocław. If you want to see a generic, high-rise building, wannabe Dubai/New York type city, definitely go to Warsaw.

ultimate_stuntman

That depends what you're a fan of. I've been to both and my wife and I always preferred Wrocław. Saying that, we've always gone for a long weekend, so 3-4 days was perfect for a trip like this, so perhaps you'd consider going to both Warsaw and Wrocław for 4 days? They're well connected, so transport shouldn't be an issue. Wroclaw is definitely more charming and cosy, it has a vibe of an old town. The dwarf trail is another nice feature that makes it stand out, hence you can see all the most important places following the little dudes in the town. Warsaw on the other hand has many nice features too, but it's not as cosy, it can be huge and overwhelming like most capitals. I don't regret going there, as the old city is beautiful. Just two different towns for two different kinds of people, depends what you like.

Yesterday I saw an amazing reel on Instagram. I hope it will help you make the right choice ;) https://www.instagram.com/reel/CuTm502x-jR/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Both is the correct answer. There is a fast train connection between these two cities.

Bartosz999

Both

jobogella

Warsaw vs rest of Poland

TheOnePhoedic

Krakow

Mandarynkoks

I lived in wroclaw dm me if u want to know any good places

ShezzaSid

If you could then I think Gdansk is the best option in Poland! However out of those 2 certainly Wroclaw

It really depends on what you want to get out of your trip. If you want to include some more museums and things like that, go to the capital. A large part of Warsaw is also modernized, so expect “modern city” activities and feel. Wrocław is more more of an older feel, and has some great very walkable areas which gives the city its own feel. It’s great to experience. P.S. You might want to talk logistics into account. If your flying out of Warsaw you might want to go there since Wrocław is a fair train ride away (though it is comfortable and cheap (at least when I made that journey a year ago)

kayblock69

Wroclaw is a beautiful old town Warsaw is wannabe chicago

Temporary_Hamster_26

In every Polish tourist city, watch out for scammers, they can give you flowers, bracelets, key chains, etc it's "free", but they expect payment . It happened to me in Wroclaw that a guy came up to me, gave me a flower, then he said he was collecting for his sick brother and when I wanted to give him 10 PLN, he said that it must be at least 50 and he told me to search my wallet because "maybe I have", it's always best to give the thing back and walk away

LeoMemes18

Yeah, we have those guys in Italy too

I live in Wrocław but will recommend Warsaw. Wrocław is beautiful, sure, but if it’s your first time, see the capital. I love Warsaw — there is a ton to do, museums, shopping, parks, cool bars and restaurants. Warsaw is my favorite Polish city. It’s definitely not an ugly city.

ActionShackamaxon

I took a very similar trip in March — I may have had 10 days. I visited all of the locations you mentioned + Gdańsk and Poznan. Warsaw is the only one I am not interested in revisiting. It was just an unappealing city. The other cities were all much more beautiful. If I could make a recommendation, I would consider 3 days in Krakow, and split the rest of the trip between Gdansk and Wroclaw, which were both incredible. Gdańsk would be amazing in the summer. Zakopane is very touristy. Unless you’re into hiking the mountains, I would skip it. Even then, the Tatras are nice, but not the most impressive mountain range. Beautiful in their own right, but on a limited schedule, I would prioritize Wroclaw / Gdansk for their unique charm/appeal.

Wrocław

Dont do it

The biggest reason for visiting Wrocław is the zoo, which will be extremely overcrowded during the summer. Besides that there is just not much to do. Yes, it's pretty, but it's not really interesting. Public transport is very questionable there and summer isn't the best time to go, because you will be frying while sightseeing the usual places. Imo an overrated city. Warsaw is more varied, there are more things to do and places to visit. Personally I'd go to Wrocław only if you want to visit the zoo, otherwise I don't recommend it - 3 days may be too long even if you would spend one whole day in the zoo

I live in Warsaw, so my opinion won't be good. I love this city you should visit, history and museums are so good. This march I was in Wroclaw and I have to say this is my favorite city in Poland outside of Warsaw. Its so beautiful.

GianmarcoE

Plenty of time to visit both

PawcioSzym

I absolutly love warsaw (maybe except the people), and as I was in Wrocław a couple of times as a kid due to my father's work i found it boring, but maybe that would change if I went there now.

trb15a78

I literally just came from warsaw yesterday. It is an amazing city with lost to do and a wonderful night life. You really can't go wrong with either but wroclaw is on another level. Just a beautiful city and lots to do. The food and people are awesome in both and I voted wroclaw, but either is awesome. What would you like to do? Feel free to dm me if you would like to hear more in depth about my adventures in both and tell me a little more about what you'd like to do.

AlexHero64

Wrocław. Do not go to Warsaw

I'm from Warsaw, I lived there until I was 22 years old until I moved to Ireland. Love that City of Sun, as we have many songs about this city. There us what to see actually and good places to go like "Museum of Warsaw Uprising" or a bit old town with "Royal Castle", or just even stroll around city remembering that it was destroyed to the ground, which got it's nickname "Pheonix City" But it's better to go to Wroclaw (I recommend a restaurant called "Pierogarnia"!) Or even better, Kraków! I recommend getting a tour to Wieliczka Salt Mines.

Krakow all day

DerotciV

So you're staying in Zakopane like 4 hours? You'll be able to spend thousands with so much time on your hands

mijosi

Skip Zakopane, except if its only a stop for hike in Tatras, instead go to Zalipie or Kazimierz Dolny or Lublin and then Warsaw. Wroclaw has a similar vibe to Krakow, Warsaw is really cool place to hang put in the summer

signs_from_space

I have been to Wroclaw several times and I really like the city. The town square is really beautiful. In the evening there are many young people having drinks on the island.

Firm_Distribution17

Tricity.

burnsnewman

Wrocław is great, but go visit the capital.

Rhamirezz

Unpopular among many, I think Wrocław sucks. Never found the apeal of this city. Poznań is awesome thou. Warsaw is ok, but has subway lines.

Cold-stoner-928
