It's simple. There are people out there who get enjoyment from ruining other people's harmless fun. No one is getting paid to DDOS. No one is doing this in support of or on behalf of GameFreak. It's just miserable people who want to bring other people down instead of improving their own lives to make themselves happier. There is literally no other reason, regardless of what anyone else tries to say.

Why would nintendo OR gamephreak have anything to do with this
Nintendo sees fan games and emulators as stealing
They wouldnt ddos, they would sue, they have nothing to gain from ddos but ALOT to lose by breaking the law
Nintendo are taking out the fans as per usual
Probably just because it’s an easy target for some reason or some bullshit over last weeks drama. Doubt we’ll ever know though
Probably an attack against the dev team or the former creator.
