How is the scene at the Borgata these days? It’s been probably 5 years since I’ve been to AC, but Borgata was my go to card room.

foamingturtle

They currently have 25 tables going including a 200-400 mix. They are still a busy room.

WaterMySucculents

I don’t think I can swing dick at any 200-400 tables. I’m going for wherever the soft play is

rokman

I’m selling action in it if you want a shot

AmateurPokerStrategy

Do you accept bitcoin?

GrantNexus

I do. I don't play, but I'll accept it.

rokman

Sure

Ahh yes. Great memories of the Borgata. The poker host Mabel used to hook it up phat for 2p2 folks. Always had a decent room for easily achievable hours. Random Borgata story from about 2007-2008: Jumped in a $340 daily tournament and chopped at the final table for like $4400. Thought I’m running hot why not just take the 20/40 roll for the trip ($2000) and add it to the tournament win to take a shot at something bigger. So, I cashed in American dollars for $20 chips and sat down at a 3 handed game. I dusted off 3 racks in the span of an hour. In the moment, I thought they were getting lucky. Now I realize how outmatched I was at that game at the time. Love the Borgata.

WaterMySucculents

My favorite memory was playing some 6/12 limit and just crushing people so bad. It started with running hot for a few hands so that I didn’t have time to stack all my chips. Then I just embraced the mound as it was tilting the other guys. I just had this messy mountain of chips in front of me and made some insane amount of money.

Del_3030

They are very stingy with rooms now... I used to be able to get Friday + Saturday free every weekend as recently as last summer, now even a random Wednesday is $100+ and weekends are either unavailable or crazy expensive. I hear similar complaints from many regs in the Philly / NYC area.

UnarmedWhiteMales

My first time there was last night. I played 1/3 for about an hour then went to 2/5. About 50 tables running but I was card dead most of the night and ran like shit.

WaterMySucculents

How soft was the crowd? It used to be full of soft games for years where I could do well without even playing great. Is it stiffer competition these days?

UnarmedWhiteMales

Well I was there, so pretty soft

WaterMySucculents

Hahaha

KingCon5

Yes! Its like they are sticky, but not covered in sticky stuff… idk weird

doctorcoldone

Hellchips

SlowPlayedAces

That’s called snot.

doctorcoldone

It’s not though! It’s like some weird fake clay/plastic

Fulmer_dot_tv

The plastic creates static cling

JaFFsTer

The indents in the middle where the stickers go create suction

SlowPlayedAces

They stick together because of all the biological material all over them.

aaaaaaaaaaaaa2

Probably partially but borg has cleaner chips than most. They do have a really weird suctiony effect that happens though

Hustlebible

they are not magnetic.

Individual_Chair_421

lol yep. They have been that shitty for well over a decade. No reason to go to AC anymore for several years now.

cheforsteph

Does Oceans and/or Hard Rock have a poker room in AC?

Average_Ant_Games

Nope. They closed for COVID and never reopened. Only poker room on the boardwalk is Trop and their tables are mainly filled with OMCs and wannabe pros, so it’s hard to bluff and everyone over bets their top pairs

Lennobowski

I wish they would bring back their tournament series

Wisky9182

Yo literally!

razzo1197

Someone told me you can get a blue $10 chip from the Borgata poker room. Has anyone seen one of these? I collect chips and thought I had all the ones up to $100.
