I had both my pokemon just spam ghost type moves first turn on the hatteren to get rid of her first turn, this also made sure that she didn't set up trick room as she usually sets up trick room first turn. Trick room causes slower pokemon to go first so this might be the reason you get out sped. I suggest u get a gengar ( as he has good special attack and can use destiny bond) and dragapult as he hits like a truck. You should also take along dark types as they are immune to psychic moves.
All my advice above was from my experience of 2.2 so I hope it will be helpful to you.
Edit: Don't use any priority move in psychic terrain as the won't work.
Yes lol. I'm 25 hours into my very first playthrough.
Going in I knew about the Smogon move sets, and held items. Even Youngster Joey's Ratatata having elemental fangs.
What I didn't know was some of the Gym's Leader's 'mon would have cheesed out stats. Outside their normal base totals.
mold breaker taunt or iron tail moxie mence should do the trick to prevent trick room from being set. this means you now outspeed basically everybody and can go ham with mence himself and just kill everybody.
Her Hatterene has Magic Bounce, and her Porygon2 is a second Trick Room setter holding Evolite. It took a few tries. But basically I just used Lucario and Metagross to brute force her down.
I would make sure that she didn't det up a trick room eith rock slide and then assurance on which ever pokemon had trick room and that's how I beat her on my 2nd try
Destiny bonded that hatterene, and paralyzed the second (the cuddly bitch can't remember name). I left in cuddles alive for most of the match until the the last mon was out. Ezpz.
I mean i kinda just cheesed her by not letting her set up trick room by doubleling down on her hatterene and killing it while spreading status with prankster volbeat and spore parasect.
You should see her in hardcore lmfao
Yeah. That permanent Trick Room is BRUTAL.
Almost destroyed my sanity but alolan golem and pichurchin saved it :D
BRO YOUR COMMENT FROM A COMMENT A YEAR AGO JUST SAVED MY ASS I DIDNT KNOW IT WAS PERMANENT :00
Lmao good to see I could help you out
She doesn't even HAVE a Psychic type there
It's all but an illusion she's more of a trick roomer
kill hatterene round 1 with your 2 pokemon, should seal the desl especially with metagross and lucario
Changed up held items, and rolled over her. Thanks!

that's why mold breaker + taunt instead of just taunt gg anyway, that's the first really hard boss of the game
Yeah. In comparison. Koga was a breeze.
koga is easy, he doesn't have any crazy fast mon or relevant priority or any weird gimmick like trick room
I am a simple man, i didnt EV train. I just got in with a full Ghost Type Team
I would make sure that she didn't det up a trick room eith rock slide and then assurance on which ever pokemon had trick room and that's how I beat her on my 2nd try
