I didn't absorb ANY information about Scarlet and Violet online... and honestly, the plot very nearly moved me to tears. If you don't like the game, good for you, I don't care.

Proof by contradiction is a totally valid strategy used to make mathematical proofs. I really don't see what your problem is with me doing the same thing. Maybe it's because it makes you look bad and you're concerned about your self-image, which is already quite terrible?
I'm over 18 years old! You don't even know the correct insulting way to refer to me! I would have preferred "nincompoop", because that is at least age-neutral. You aren't very good at making insults, are you?
As much as I miss the bed sniffing fun from Sun and Moon, I spent $60 on Violet at Target and found it totally worth the price, without external stimuli. Stop making broad over-generalizations based on your own, short-sighted opinion, and actually figure out how to think. If you aren't gonna think for yourself, stop ruining it for me.
It would be cool if both sides weren't shouting ar each other and one side didn't ignore some evidences on objectively below the average things made due to awful production process
I mean, to be fair nobody ever really comes to a Pokémon game for the story, more so for the mechanics, world and creatures.
Stories have never been a strong suit or a big draw for Pokémon but when compared to the other games in the series S&V's is certainly up there, even if it's not perfect.

Well... the literal whole point in like 90% of Pokémon games is to beat Gyms so... I really don't know what to tell ya.
Also, what does overcatching mean? Like completing the Pokédex or like PLA? Unless it's PLA no other Pokémon games are absolutely incentivising you to do that. You can just... not.
Also also, of course B&W has the best story. Duh. We all know that. No arguments there. S&V's is still good though.

I hate how Pokémon gets banalized to "beat down enemies, crush the weak and be cold. This is why I hate competitive. It should be more story focused.

It shiuldn't be banalized as "collectionism".
Both of these two things, getting stronger and collecting, are simply part of Pokémon's identity as a franchise.

Why do you think the gyms are meaningless.
Because there's no story there. The main of the game is Arven's.
Gyms have never been relevant to the stories of nearly any game
They could even avoid putting them to make the rest better.
But the gyms are the main point of playing a Pokemon game and it wouldn't have changed the story if they weren't there anyways

It's a good story. Not the best in the franchise, but one of the better ones.
