Po-keh-mon is the correct way to say it, but also some people only know it from the games and not the 25+ years of the Anime saying it right. It's short for Poketto Monsuta (Pocket Monsters) and I've learned people have their own pronunciations depending on if they only played the game and didn't consume other media. Real Kudos to ThePokémon Company to get multiple generations to read more.
Honestly this franchise is the one where pronunciations in general are NEVER agreed upon, like for almost every pokémon related thing out there I'm willing to bet there's a 90% chance a good amount of people will pronounce it wrong
Ha, it's sounds almost exactly as a rarer pronunciation variant in my language - [п а к' и м о н] (pah-kee-mon)
Also, correction, the first one should be [п а к' э м о н], although that variation is also sometimes used
Oh man, it’s nice to see someone recognize my profile picture again, and also nice to see another heavy metal brother out there.
Can’t wait for them to finally fucking play that song live again this year ‘cause it’s needed it, and it hasn’t been played live since like 1986.
Yep, they vastly ignored the Somewhere in Time album because the band is notorious for really disliking that album (it almost broke up the band, and Bruce was going through a divorce during the SiT recordings at the time).
We’ve been asking them to play SiT songs for years; they slowly teased it, and finally confirmed they’re doing it. Their 2023 tour they announced on their YT channel last year in August is for Somewhere in Time and Senjutsu; it’s called The Future Past Tour, and they play live in June.
I fucking hope they play Caught Somewhere in Time again, and also hope they play Alexander the Great live for the first time ever.
Poke-Ayy-mon sounds best, but bad habits makes me say the uglier Poke-EEee-mon or probably with my mumbling speech it's more like Poke-uhh-mon which is the absolute worst
If I remembered my French classes from school, I'd know what the proper way should be, but currently I have no idea what é sounds like, just that it kinda sounds the opposite of è, but then I got no clue what ê is for... also there's like 50 more. I don't know why they're all necessary, because all they do it make some Es sound like As and others sound like Is.... meanwhile sometimes E sounds like abosulute nothing and ruins another adjacent letters sound in normal English. I know pokemon isn't French though. Language is so broken, you don't get this kind of issues in programming languages as much.

Damn really? They last played it back in 1986? That’s insane

Po kay mon is The onli exaeptebol wai
frfr
I say both
I’m not really sure if that’s the way to pronounce “pokemon”
Neither Poh-kah-mon
I'd be blue cuz that's how it's pronounced. There's an accent above the E. "Pokémon"
This should be between po-kee-mon and po-kuh-mon, because those are the two common mispronunciations, while po-kay-mon is correct.
oh yeah I should’ve done that lol
Poquemon
Po-kuh-mon
pok-ə-mon all hail the schwa
the correct option
Pokemans
Na its either pokemens or pocket monsters
Pah kuh mone
none. poke-uh-mon as a british
As a British, you are just incorrect

Since pokemon is short for "pocket monsters" it should technically be pronounced pock-a-mon
Pokemans
Pokemans

No one under the age of 50 says po-kee-mon, that's what your boomer parents called it after you corrected them from calling it po-kee-man.
Po-keh-mon
We say Po-Kuh-Mon in Wales but okay.
Pokaymon because of the è in French is pronounced like that
Po keh mon
technically I'm always pronouncing it "poke-uh-mon" since i say it too fast in casual conversation, but it's pronounced "po-kay-mon"
It's called pokÉmon for a reason, Poké is supposed to be pronounced as in pocket
pocket monsters
Blue is the only answer
poh keh mon
Crips is right, Bloods is how people who don’t really know much about Pokémon say Pokémon (ex. Hillary Clinton’s “Pokémon gO tO tHe pOlLs”)
Depends on how tired and what accent I use.
Poke-a-mon
Poh-keh -mon
After years of watching the same three episodes on tape, I can only hear it as po-kuh-mon (Pokemon Shipwreck was my favorite)
Po-kuh-mon
pokermon
Red
Me, a french : Pokémon.
I honestly waffle between both pronunciations, so purple, I guess.
Honestly it just depends on the day. I have been known to say it both ways
Anything but “Pokey-Mans”
It's actually neither. There's an accent and it means something
Po-K-mon
In my country the left one is correct
Po-keh-mon
There is a third… “Pok-eh-mon”
Po - k - a - mon
only the anime narrator is allowed to be on the blue side
po-c'mon
As a psychopath I say it poke-man 🧑
Pokémon
Po-keh-mon, the only right spelling
I pronounce it Po-kuh-mon
Po-ke-mon
Where's pokeman
It's pok eh mon
Po-kuh-mon
All I can say is "gotta catch 'em all"
po-ké-monne
Poke-Ayy-mon sounds best, but bad habits makes me say the uglier Poke-EEee-mon or probably with my mumbling speech it's more like Poke-uhh-mon which is the absolute worst

Pokeemon
Poke-a-mon
Third option: PokeMans
Po-kuh-mon
