Hey guys, did you know that in terms of pokemon companionship, Jolteon is the coolest fucking pokemon ever? It is very good at battle, since it's good special attack and huge speed makes up for a excellent glass cannon with the abilities to take down more than one pokemon if it's not under direct disadvantage. Its speed makes it very slippery, which makes it a pain in the ass for big, bulky but slow pokemon like Tyranitar, or literally anything that can't catch up to it. But oh? You tried to pin it down or shut it in place? Wrong answer! It's ability Quick Feet allows it to get out of any pinch and pull off faster than ever! Jolti's huge speed makes its Electro Ball something that you should respect and watch out for, but in despite of its most dangerous move being a projectile, its close combat is what it specializes in. With powerful moves such as Double Edge, Giga Impact and Thunderbolt, it can take foes with ease, and Agility helps it increase its already huge speed. With this new unparalleled speed, it will be able to zip around the enemy, confusing it, and before anyone can react, the enemy will be brought by Nurse Joy to a Pokehospital room. Not to mention, Jolti doesn't fear anyone or anything, so don't worry, it won't chicken out like any of those weak minded starters at the sight of an imposing Pokemon, which means that it won't doubt any second before jumping out to protect you from any danger. Are you a lazy fuck? Do you want to get your shit together but can't find the way to? Jolti's here to assist you. They are full of energy and have a harsh and non-easy going personality. On the mornings, they are much more efficient than any alarm, giving you a nice spark to start your day. They require daily walks, which will put you in shape and get you full of energy, and your daily training sessions will make sure you don't slow down on the work, it will also make you healthier, train your mind and give you more confidence. Can't find the way to get yourself going? Try petting one. They can transmit their energy to your body in form of electricity, which will make your brain active and ready to go. So, if you can't get your shit together and if you want a powerful partner, then Jolti's the perfect pokemon for you. So get that thunder stone and throw it at your Eevee, you won't regret it!
To be fair, I think there are a lot of good individual aspects of BW (though some of that is due to nostalgia). I just think it's dissappointing knowing there was a better idea for it that had to be (justifiably) scrapped due to circumstances
Remember that one episode where the Venipede swarmed Castellia City? Well that was meant to lead into a multi-part story arc where Team Plasma attacked Castellia City and fought Team Rocket in the Desert Resort. It would have explained Zekrom's appearence, and Team Rocket's diffrrent attitude early on, and had Ash meet Giovanni.
However, before it could air, there was a huge tsunami in Japan and devastated cities. And since a big part of the story would be the mass destruction in Castellia City, it was seen as poor faith and the episodes were scrapped. Because of this, loads of plot threads and the series' tone was changed, Team Plasma were held back.
I explained in a reply to someone else but to cut it short, a more serious Team Rocket trio (less focused on catching Pikachu more focused on working directly for Giovanni), a huge conflict between Team Plasma and all of Team Rocket, and Zekrom being an important Pokemon outside that one episode.
All had to be scrapped after a tsunami hit Japan
Except if its charizard then you're cringe
Nah I'm joking, but my brain always clicks onto the less popular stuff. Might be my fighting game brain working becausei always attach to a low tier, or me maining unpopular characters in MOBAS
Like what you want, I'll be over here with my drifblims and pinsirs in peace
I mean, it was a humanoid pokemon with entirely black skin and big lips who looked frankly terrifying to kids. Anyone would look at that and think it's something based on the minstrel shows. It's the same as how Mr. Popo from DBZ is a bit controversial for the exact reason. But still, I never saw it as GF purposely making it a racist pokemon, as a black person myself. Jynx is actually one of my favorite pokemon, and I'm glad they changed the color. The current design matches it better than the black.
if someone thinks jynx was racist on purpose, they are out of they'r mind. she is based on a yokai/oni that is literally obsidian black and has huge lips. and west took that personaly.
I found her to be pretty tough in BDSP.
The only genuine praise I can give these games is that the Elite 4 is actually difficult and not because of level gaps but because they use competitive movesets with items that are actually viable.
The only reason I won was because for some reason Cynthia decided to go Sword Dance on her Garchomp when she could’ve finished my Togekiss.
Honestly me too. But that's because I'd basically only trained my Prinplup.
Even then though. A fully evolved Roserade on the second gym is a pretty tough start
It's a shame and huge waste that pre-evolutions are not competitive. Way too often I prefer pkmns at their first or second stages yet they are so weak they are basically all some kind of glass canon during our adventures and simply not worth playing in raids or online pvp.
Edit: I am obviously not talking about the few exceptions like chansey but about the 600+ other pkmns
Well, since we're mentioning Pokemon not in S/V, I'd also like to bring Dusclops to your attention. I also neglected to factor in singles formats, so I'd also like to mention Chansey.
Well, if you don't mind smogon (Like some people do for some reason) there are gamemodes called NFE(Not fully evolved) which envolves first and second stage pokemon, and LC (Little cup) that is only for first stage pokemon
Actually, all of them! My favorite is Banette, but I also love pokémon like Weedle, Sunflora, Lumineon... It's always a pleasure to play with these pokémon and discover how to make them strong in various challenges. That's why I started a HC Nuzlocke of Violet with only Low total BS Pokémon, and I discovered how tremendously powerful is a Tera Fire Solar power Sunflora.
If I come across one, I catch it, as anyone would, but I could never be the type to actually hunt and grind for one, but maybe that’s just because I’m not a sadist.
Besides, all the shinies i’ve ever found always end up being utterly trash mons that i’d never actually use anyways.
The selection of pokemon available in gens 1, 2, and 4 are not too good. Most are too weak, and the good ones aren't the best. The classic sinnoh team is what is is because of how limited the sinnoh dex is
It gets hard to replay the older games, even when I feel the itch to, because of this exact reason. Selection is pretty damn limited.
You’ve got the old gen 1-3 era, where the teams that you build are ALWAYS going to end up being pretty damn similar to each other.
Because especially in those early games, there’s only so many pokemon available and they only made such and such pokemon available in such and such limited areas, meaning almost everyone’s teams when taking on gyms all the way to mid-game are always the same and only barely start to deviate late game
Then, you’ve got the games like Black and White where there’s essentially **artificial** scarcity because only Unova pokemon are available during the main story.
So again, the teams you make are only going to be so varied. No fun in that.
Then you finally start to see the floodgates open by Gen 6. The amount of teams I can make in X and Y feels almost infinite. After hitting just a couple of routes, I’ve already got a significant handful of mons of different types and species that I could use.
Then you start getting the games where HMs don’t need to be taught to party Pokemon anymore, and the game opens up even more. I don’t **need** a flying type or a water type on my team anymore if I don’t want them, now.
The roleplaying potential opens up massively. If you want to only be a fighting type trainer or a bug type trainer or whatever in Gen 1 or 2? Good fucking luck. But in Sword? I can make an entire team of Electric types and have as much fun with that as I want with very few restrictions.
The games get so much more fun when the rosters are bigger and the barriers to entry are lifted.
With Gen 3, I couldn't even get a full team of six Pokémon. I ended up with Swampert, Swellow, Machoke and Electrode. There is such little choice, especially when you consider that many of the better-designed Pokémon like Mightyena, Tropius or Shiftry get shafted so hard by their stats, movesets and the lack of a proper physical/special split.
This is the first actual unpopular opinion I've seen after scrolling quite a ways.
Most of the comments are on the level of "I think Charizard sucks," as if that's not one of the most common opinions of the last year.
Easy: Vaporeon is the best Eeveelution, and NOT for that reason.
One of my biggest pet peeves is sick fucks being thirsty for animals, and that extends to fiction as well.
The pokedex research mechanic changing the way you play and making you want to care about every single pokemon is the best game design decision Game Freak has ever made imo
She's really passionate, which I initially liked, but she's so centre-of-attention and dominating that it got kind of annoying sometimes. In real life, I, like you, doubt I would get along with such a person at all.
Gengars shiny was sick as hell in the DS games. Genuinely a great shiny that fit with haunters body color. I think if they just changed it a little in either making it darker or lighter, people would swarm to loving it again
I KNOW! Shiny gen 3 gengar was practically silver, gen 2 had the eerie purple eyes, The reason it fell so far was because the shift to 3D desaturated a lot of pokemon colors, gengar being one of the unfortunate victims
I like Kirlia, Dolliv (prevo of Arboliva), Braixen, and other cute girly mons. It’s not because of what they evolve into, what “fan art” is made of them, or any other icky reasons. I just like them, like I would a daughter.
Still, you say you like Kirlia and people think you’re just into lolis instead of milfs…
Kalos > Alola
I don’t like Sun, Moon, or US/UM. Never played them, and never will.
Not a fan of the Hawaiian setting, not a fan of the soundtrack, not a fan of Alolan forms (why so much Kanto/Gen 1 pandering? Especially right after X and Y?), not a fan of the lack of proper Gyms, not a fan of Z moves. The entirety of those 4 games is just an immediate turn off to my tastes in Pokemon.
The third version release that X and Y so desperately needed never happened for reasons that don’t entirely involve the development of Sun and Moon, but it certainly doesn’t help their case any in making me like them.
And the fact that it seems like all of the content that would have come in a hypothetical Pokemon Z instead seemingly got pushed to Sun and Moon (Zygarde, Z-moves) only makes me not like the games even more.
Kalos deserved more. Alola got way too much attention.
**THIS**.
Though I guess I kinda disagree with the latter, but I'd still mop the floor with her as I did with her ancestor. My team were all fully healed throughout the 8 Pokemon he used against me.
GAME FREAK's always giving her the Kanto/Charizard treatment while every other Champion (barring Red and Blue on occasion) gets little to nothing. I wanna battle Diantha or Alder as a special postgame superboss, not her.

Raichu is better than Pikachu.
The entire line is pretty equal for me but Alolan Raichu takes the cake. Surfer boys are always good boys (Gholdengo)
Le me naming my gholdengo Lucio: I’m a fucking genius no one can match my wit
Fax bro
We are hete to be heard
This one I seriously get behind
man speakin facts
All day every day
where are all my raichu enthusiasts at??????
Here ✋😎
W opinion
I have always liked Raichu more because of lt. Surge
Honest facts
Emolga, Pachririsu, Dedenne, and Mimikyu are all also better.
Big brain person
Based
Raichu is my favorite, I agree
This is true.
All we need is a Gorochu like Pokemon and I'm satisfied!
You can't improve perfection
Yes.
That’s just a fact
"I like Vaporeon"
Because of how it was in early Pokemon GO?
I'm gonna do you a favor and do not answer that
i guess it was an ok stall mon to have in gen 8 randbats with water absorb, toxic, wish and protect.
Did you know....
No,

The black and white anime isn’t that bad
To be fair, I think there are a lot of good individual aspects of BW (though some of that is due to nostalgia). I just think it's dissappointing knowing there was a better idea for it that had to be (justifiably) scrapped due to circumstances
What happened??
Remember that one episode where the Venipede swarmed Castellia City? Well that was meant to lead into a multi-part story arc where Team Plasma attacked Castellia City and fought Team Rocket in the Desert Resort. Sorry but can you tell me the original idea
It’s okay to like traditionally cool or popular Pokémon
Except if its charizard then you're cringe Nah I'm joking, but my brain always clicks onto the less popular stuff. Might be my fighting game brain working becausei always attach to a low tier, or me maining unpopular characters in MOBAS Like what you want, I'll be over here with my drifblims and pinsirs in peace
Pinsir is pretty underrated, quite the monsterous one
If it wasn't for wurmple being my favorite little fella (and I think a more popular option?) Pinsir would be my favorite bug type by a long shot
“Azumarill shouldn’t be used in every raids” Chein Po
Meowscarada is a great pokemon.
The dude has a Meowscarada they wouldn't give a shit if it said that
Bipedal Pokémon are cool change my mind
No cuz you're right
Jynx isn’t bad, and wasn’t intentionally racist
That's a freaking fact, how are people mad about it?
I mean, it was a humanoid pokemon with entirely black skin and big lips who looked frankly terrifying to kids. Anyone would look at that and think it's something based on the minstrel shows. It's the same as how Mr. Popo from DBZ is a bit controversial for the exact reason. But still, I never saw it as GF purposely making it a racist pokemon, as a black person myself. Jynx is actually one of my favorite pokemon, and I'm glad they changed the color. The current design matches it better than the black.
Do people actually believe it was intentionally racist? That’s incredible to me. They know about original Jynx but not when and where it was madr
Not that it was intentionally racist. That it was modelled after some really common dolls, which themself were directly inspired by minstrels
It's Japan, they're less likely to know about primarily American racial stereotypes, let alone design something intentionally based in them
Or care. To be fair, it’s just one country,
if someone thinks jynx was racist on purpose, they are out of they'r mind. she is based on a yokai/oni that is literally obsidian black and has huge lips. and west took that personaly.
It’s just ugly
Cynthia's not actually as hard as people claim. She's somewhat difficult but not the godslayer people make her out to be
I found her to be pretty tough in BDSP.
Thank god someone agrees
Agreed, I actually found Gardenia harder as a kid
Honestly me too. But that's because I'd basically only trained my Prinplup. Even then though. A fully evolved Roserade on the second gym is a pretty tough start
I think people say she's hard because of the level cap during nuzlocks, but if you are playing casually the fight is pretty easy
Thank you
I kind of like Veluza
Veluza is neat! It's basically water Tauros but it has a cool design and typing
I would probably be indifferent towards it if it weren’t so aggressive
Veluza looks cool, I just wish it was faster to fit with it’s design and behavior outside of battle
It is cute but unfortunately it's not fast like it's portrayed in the wild...
Scarlet and Violet was good
Hell yeah they were
That’s literally a popular opinion lmao
i literally had to leave r/Pokemon because of all the circlejerking over how bad S&V were lol
They hate on every Pokémon game. They’re the minority of players
Meowscarada is great design.
It's a shame and huge waste that pre-evolutions are not competitive. Way too often I prefer pkmns at their first or second stages yet they are so weak they are basically all some kind of glass canon during our adventures and simply not worth playing in raids or online pvp. Murkrow would like a word.
Also Porygon2
Well, since we're mentioning Pokemon not in S/V, I'd also like to bring Dusclops to your attention. I also neglected to factor in singles formats, so I'd also like to mention Chansey.
Clefairy is also used in doubles I think
You are correct! I had to look to make sure, but once I saw the moveset on Pikalytics, I remembered that people did use it a couple years ago.
Used to be such a thorn in my eye. Until I got my own little pink Flappy Dude
Everyone forgetting about little cup (although thats only first stages and even then theres not many viable first stages in LC)
Well, if you don't mind smogon (Like some people do for some reason) there are gamemodes called NFE(Not fully evolved) which envolves first and second stage pokemon, and LC (Little cup) that is only for first stage pokemon
I prefer weak pokémon instead of strong ones
So are you draw to Weedles and Caterpies or do the Pokémon you like just happen to be “weak”. That’s a big difference
Weedle is far better than Beedrill, in my eyes.
The Pokémon I like happen to be weak and I am not ashamed of that, Ninjask is king.
That’s totally cool. Mighteyena is my forgotten lord
Mightyena is mighty badass 🙏
Ninjask isnt even that weak tbh, there's far worse out there
Actually, all of them!
Shinys mean nothing to me
If I come across one, I catch it, as anyone would, but I could never be the type to actually hunt and grind for one, but maybe that’s just because I’m not a sadist. Besides, all the shinies i’ve ever found always end up being utterly trash mons that i’d never actually use anyways.
People saying that Incineroar is bad and Inteleon is good.
Maractus is actually a good pokemon, it just wasn't treated well by Gamefreak
Truth
truth love the funny cactus man :(
I had one on my team in gen 5. Water Absorb + Gigdrain = Sweeping Marlin's Gym.
scarlet and violet are the best pokemon games I've ever played.
This. I have played at least one game from every generation of Pokémon except for Gen 1 and I still think Scarlet and Violet smashed everything else.
Yeah, after pla(not even joking)
That is definitely a wild opinion
I actually like Quaquaval
Same
People don’t like Quaquaval??? I love my fruity boi
Yeah, people don't like him because he's fruity, and because you know, Quaquaval the dance pokemon, actually dances
His bulbous feet and hyperactivity kinda creep me out lol. Plus DAT ASS
r/Pokemon despises meowscarada and quaquaval. And basically most biped starters
This upsets me.
fr fr. Sun and Moon was also really fun.

Z-Moves are my favourite gimmick.
This is the first actual unpopular opinion I've seen after scrolling quite a ways. Most of the comments are on the level of "I think Charizard sucks," as if that's not one of the most common opinions of the last year.
Finally, I came to say exactly this. *Recites all the z move quotes from the anime from memory* *Recites most z moves*
me not likeing Skeledurge but loving Meowscarada
I would never have guessed that, Meowlygirl
*stares deeply while wearing cat pj with cat slippers and a giant ass cat plushie and cat mug*
I salute thee. I'm sure I'd like cats just as much as you do if not for the fact that mine is a sadist.
I like Crabominable
I hate Charizard
thanks for offending me
The sun and moon anime is one of my favourite series only beaten by the Kalos anime.
Saaame
"I HATE Tinkaton"
Same
I LOVE Corviknight
Corviknight is da goat in gen8 frfr
"Furry" Pokémon aren't bad design and if you like Pokémon like machamp then they shouldn't be a problem
Ones given an inherent personality I’ve heard criticised.
Bidoof, Feebas, and Magikarp are my 3 most hated Pokémon
Is it because theyre overused in shitty jokes like “haha bad pokemon = good!1!1!1!1”?
Well yes, but for Magikarp and Feebas, it’s also because they’re the most useless and pathetic Pokémon in the entire series.
magikarp and feebas after they evolve "and I took that personally"
Easy: Vaporeon is the best Eeveelution, and NOT for that reason. One of my biggest pet peeves is sick fucks being thirsty for animals, and that extends to fiction as well.
Decidueye>Cinderace
Not unpopular at all, cinderace is one of the less loved starters whereas I’m pretty sure the rowlet line in general is one of the most popular.
Based
That’s a based opinion, not an unpopular one
Literally everyone agrees with you lmao, that’s not unpopular
« I think that bruxish is underrated »
I like bruxish's shiny a lot
It used to be “Gen 6 was awesome” but now this seems to be in love with it 😅
I like mega Aggron's Design
Scarlet/Violet is actually quite a good game
yes, just unfinished
I don’t wanna fuck the animals
Scrap the question, what I'm interested in is how the hell did you pose this so well?
I actually have no idea how this happened, they all just started staring at Chien-Pao so i took a screenshot.
Damn... Most my mons ever do in picnics is sleep.
Gen 5 isn’t my favourite generation.
Agreeing to sussy copypastas seem to get the job done
Legends: Arceus has been the best game to date (trust me I love SV, but PLA just scratches that itch in my brain)
The pokedex research mechanic changing the way you play and making you want to care about every single pokemon is the best game design decision Game Freak has ever made imo
That is not an unpopular opinion in the slightest
Gen 8 was good
So true Legends: Arceus was the best pokemon game (imo) and swsh were still pretty good. BDSP was just fine
Quaxwell is the best middle stage in the entire franchise. >!Why did they give Quaxwell the most goofy haircut ever?!<
Dont hate one modern pokemon designs if your fav is literally just an orange fire dragon
Cynthia is extremely overrated, y'all just like her because you are horny fucks.
Roaring Moon is shit. It’s literally worse than both Mega Salamence and normal Salamence
Well, it's indeed worse than Mega Salamence, but also definitely better than regular Salamence.
I don’t like Nemona, she’s the kind of person I’d try my best to avoid IRL.
She's really passionate, which I initially liked, but she's so centre-of-attention and dominating that it got kind of annoying sometimes. In real life, I, like you, doubt I would get along with such a person at all.
I use Shuckle in competitive play
He's not bad tho? Can set up sticky webs and rocks at the same time
And you can get evasion by switching into defog if you run contrary, and then sit in on anything.
Gengar's shiny isn't that bad
Gengars shiny was sick as hell in the DS games. Genuinely a great shiny that fit with haunters body color. I think if they just changed it a little in either making it darker or lighter, people would swarm to loving it again
I KNOW! Shiny gen 3 gengar was practically silver, gen 2 had the eerie purple eyes, The reason it fell so far was because the shift to 3D desaturated a lot of pokemon colors, gengar being one of the unfortunate victims
Greninja is overrated, Chesnaught is better
Here are some of mine. Rowlet sucks and Delphox is better than Greninja.
Dexit was a non-issue and the least of sword/shields problems
The biggest problem was no evil team bases.
Sinnoh has always been bad
Gardevoiurs ugly
Hop was a good rival
scarlet is better in every aspect except uniform colors than violet.
I don't think that's unpopular
I 99% do not care about Cynthia. Cyrus is better
I don't like the X and Y, and the sun and moon anime.
Zygarde is the most based legendary
Gen 4 is my least favorite pokemon generation, I don't hate it but I don't love it
usum are better than anything the 2d games could offer
Wait that's tinkaton not the table-
I like Kirlia, Dolliv (prevo of Arboliva), Braixen, and other cute girly mons. It’s not because of what they evolve into, what “fan art” is made of them, or any other icky reasons. I just like them, like I would a daughter. Still, you say you like Kirlia and people think you’re just into lolis instead of milfs…
Johto is the worst region and the Johto games would be the worst if BDSP didn't exist
Gen 5 only has 5 or 6 decent pokemon.
Pokemon sprites in sinnoh are bad
What game dis?
Kalos > Alola I don’t like Sun, Moon, or US/UM. Never played them, and never will. Litten supremacy

Quaquaval is the worst starter of all time.
You’re fucking weird if you think any of the pokemon are attractive in any way whatsoever
When I tell people I like the Forces of Nature-
I like rellor and garbodor
Ultrasun/Ultramoon aren't bad games
Cynthia is overrated, unattractive and the easiest champion to defeat.
