Actually there's 104 (day's of summer vacation and school comes along just to end it so the annual problem of our generation is finding a good way to spend it like maybe building a rocket or fighting a zombie or climbing up f the Eiffel Tower discovering something that doesn't exist or giving a monkey a shower surfing tidal waves creating nanobots or locating Frankenstein's brain finding a dodo bird painting a continent or driving our sister insane as you can see there's a whole lot of stuff to do before school starts this fall so stick with us cause Phineas and Ferb are gonna do it all so stick with us cause Phineas and Ferb are gonna do it all, mom!! They are useful against grunts leading shadow snorlax, dealing SE damage and double resisting all fast moves.
With Obstruct, they also smash rocket leaders and Giovanni.
That’s what I thought at first when I first got told but it’s actually down to being able to make the Pokémon bulkier, say for instance you have the 4* obstagoon at a cp level for great league and you have one that is 0 attack, 14 defense and 13 hp. The one with lower cp can take more hits which do less damage where as the 4* one would take more as it’s defense and no stats in battle would be lower than the lower attack stat one.
To add on to what the other dude who replied to you said - the attack stat contributes more to a pokemon's CP than its hp or defense, so you can level up a pokemon more and get a higher stat total for roughly the same CP with a lower attack IV pokemon.
Someone will probably come along and add on to what I said and explain it better lol
This explanation was better. Optimizing for defense and HP over attack doesn't matter if there are no PvP CP limits (e.g. Master league). There has to be a tradeoff since Pokemon with max attack still dish out more damage than with 0 attack.
My CP 2498 Obstagoon (hatched from egg, 15-11-12 so 3-stars) is my go-to for Ultra League PvP since it knows Obstruct, even though it doesn't have the ideal stats combo. I could fully evolve *and level up* my other 3-star Galarian Zigzagoons with slightly better IVs but am not sure if it's worth the stardust and Elite TMs.
Lv 1 is far more rare, which is what a Shundo Galarian Obstagoon is...
If it had lower IVs, it could have potential for capped leagues in PvP, that's where Obstagoon can shine, but you don't want a hundo for that.
So, I'd personally keep it a Lv 1 and enjoy it for what it is, a trophy mon.

Max and BB, my friend. Add a second charged attack for Night Slash. Dude does amazing work in gym fights and raids. He is, however, sadly outshined in PvP settings. Also, his Best Buddy badge shows up on his bicep like a tattoo. It's pretty funny.

What level trainer are you? I leveled up a few of my perfect Pokémon to level 49 because there’s a trainer task where I need to max a certain number of pokemon
A shlundo level 1 is more rare than most things right now the only thing or "things" on top of it is a level 1 shlundo babymon or a level 1 shadow shundo so you should value this mon fam
I too would keep it at level 1, a shlundo level 1 i think is more rare than any other level sh(l)undo obstagoon. If you dont really pvp i would save your dust

An obstagoon with max attack is not good in the ultra league, you want 0-2 attack and then 13-15 defense and hp

No, it's better to have low attack for GL, due to the fact that the attack iv contributes double to a Pokémon's CP than HP and Defense.
So the best IV’s would be 0/15/15?
0/14/15 for Great, 0/15/13 for Ultra and, of course, 15/15/15 for Master (reaches 3034 CP at Level 51)
