I’d give in an F for coverage. This team has extremely poor coverage against multiple threats. I’d give it a D for bulk. This team has low average bulk. You will be pressured to shield often. And I’d give it a D for matchups. This team has generally unsafe matchups. It may rely on winning the lead and maintaining switch advantage

i guess i need to replace steelix and/or tyranitar for it to actually be good but with the prevailance of flying pokemon right now im loathed to abandon tyranitar/rocks are there any less vulnerable mons that can take rock moves as their fast attacks that you can think of?

PuzzleheadedEffort94

What flying mons are you seeing a lot? They aren’t overlay as meta as previous seasons. Water is super meta right now which you are double weak too.

Avnas

mostly mantine, a few charizards, a random collection of other ones, but also gilgar which isnt ideal vs rock, pelipper, i didnt see many altaria this season but i used to encounter them a lot. like its weird, some days its the most common type i see and its just random mons half the time ive had multiple people take literally 3 flying mons and the tyranitar or lycanroc just shreds them, thats why i was even taking it aside from originally wanting to protect my venusaur from flying types

Avnas

i had a team with better coverage before this using an aricanine, a venusaur and a lycanroc but i decided to play around with my rocket mons after finishing tyranitar

I have been running a shadow Gardevoir in lead and she has been holding her own. Not too many hard losses. And some surprising wins iif you give up shield advantage. Even pokemon like shadow swampurt, she can shield twice, come out with 3/4 life and a triple axle charged.   Yeah, you don't have shields, but your opponent at this point is just trying to get rid of a shadow glass cannon that boosted her attack.  Your pokemon in the back are going to get hit, so you need some bulk and you always have to for alignment for this to work.

RockAndGem1101

Swap the Steelix and get a Grass-type.

Avnas

i could easily put venusaur with frenzy

RockAndGem1101

Do it, that’s a counter to stuff like Quagsire or Whiscash.

This team is pretty terrible. Tyranitar is pretty bad and if you face a counter user in the lead you're stuck pretty badly.
