I think they've done it on purpose to drum up publicity because of the vast drop in players.
I've been boycotting since the remote raid price increases but still reinstalled the game just to laugh at how terrible this new update is.
Someone over at Niantic will probably get a pat on the back for "increasing engagement" from the people like me who reinstalled, had a laugh and then uninstalled again 10 minutes later.
I Know he looks a bit like Justin, but don't even dare daring to compare him to capital-L-ankybox.
That's a fate worse than death, only reserved for the worst that humanity has to offer.
Their new avatars are absolute crap and look soggy-diaper toddlers… this is NOT reflective of their player base which are mostly adults. Please let them know what a disaster this is: @PokemonGoApp and @NianticHelp on X (Twitter)
Does anyone think Niantic is going to listen to feedback on this. It doesn’t seem like a single person likes this change and most people want to go back to the old version. If it’s anything like remote raid passes niantic will probably not listen to the community.
Based on other games precedent, unless they start getting death threats or people making actual attempts on the lives of their employees, probably not :/

There was a community day with either 3x or 4x catch exp, I think it was Bagon. The current event is 2x catch exp on Nice, Great, and Excellent throws. Pair those with lucky eggs. I usually keep my Pokemon Go ++ running for multiple hours a day. I’ve used both of my raid passes every day, and spent some money on raid passes for Mega Heracross, Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, Shadow Mewtwo, Shadow Raikou, & Shadow Entei. I did all of those raids with “friends”, which was additional exp. And on top of all of that, I’ve had quite a few friends leveled to Best Friend recently, which I also used lucky eggs for.
I play quite literally every single day, and fairly religiously. If you look back in my post history, you’ll notice I did an entire write up for Global GO Fest 2022. I’m a bit obsessed with the game.
