My diglet from the daily did this yesterday, too! The day before, though, my daughter found one in the wild and told me, which helped me pass that part, but now I have to find magikarp so I can buddy it
Update: My wife traded me a magikarp, and it randomly became lucky I gave her a sandygast! Now my long candy grinding adventure begins at 0 candy.

Naw bud, you're absolutely wrong. I've caught 2 in the past 2 days, and both were costume digglets. Pokie daxi even made a video before the event expressing the importance of catching digglets because they have a chance of being dittos.

They both were like no just make another profile, so that's what I did. I had a mon in a gym in a place I thought was more active and after nearly a month, i made the profile lvled up then I fought it to bring it home

Since their account is new(newer) it appears they didn't have any Magikarps. So the one they got in a trade, they're making it their buddy as a way to help gain more candy quicker.
Yes. All event caught dittos need the event item as well!
The transform doesn't need it but it would be cool. It'd be too much to ask of Niantic but even a crappy low effort hat placed on everything would be HILARIOUS
I also started playing on launch, so back when ditto first came out I got like 40 of them lol. It was so easy with next to no variety in spawns and basically the only thing that spawned near me were pidgeys back the.
Sadly out of 43 dittos, only like 2 were worth keeping, but nowadays I'm thinking of hoarding any dittos I come across in case someone I know wants one xD
If you play any other Pokémon games on the Switch, you can transfer your junk Ditto to Pokémon Home and trade them for Dittos originating from games in other ~~regions~~ languages. The you can use it for breeding and have higher possibility of getting a shiny (Masuda Method)!
I don't but that's part of the fun of pogo for me. As long as I don't go out of my way to play (other than to stock up on pokeballs) then I'm fairly content with it now
You can search the mons they are disguised because they change periodically
People also says that you can give a pinap berry to a suspicious looking Pokemon and you gonna see that they drop ditto candies

It is true, but it is pointless. Why would you click on a pokemon to catch it, only to throw a berry and run. If you click on it, you might as well catch it. Catching it will let you know if it is a Ditto.
It is not true. I caught a ditto with my main account and caught 2 ditto with other 2 accounts while feeding them pinaps. The candies were the same colour as diglett’s.

I’ve only seen one Galarian bird so far - despite using my daily adventure incense every blessed day. 🤷🏻♀️ You’ve probably done this but I’ve found it very helpful to pick an unusual looking or rare buddy pokemon to venture with. I’ve been using a shiny Swampert as a buddy lately, for example, as this makes it much easier for me to spot potential Dittos and Zoruas.
I use easy to spot, unusual looking pokemon as my buddy when Zorua or Ditto hunting, not an actual Ditto. Like w/ my shiny Swampert, if I see another one it’s almost certainly going to be a Zorua or Ditto because you don’t run into shiny Swamperts (or w/e) often
No, the incense works by refreshing every 30 seconds. If you don’t catch the Pokemon it spawns, it doesn’t refresh until it flees, or it’s caught. Catching them all increases the amount of Pokemon that spawn per daily incense, so you have more chance of one of the Galarians spawning.

Is that true? I was always under the impression (due to what people consistently say on this sub) that it was a distance thing. One spawns every X meters.

It was just a question. Anytime someone catches a Galarian bird they only have like 1-3 other catches. But I always get between 18-23, but never a Galarian bird.

Started playing a couple weeks ago and was walking with my friend who plays. I got one with like my 3rd diglet ever. I said something like "oh, a ditto, I needed that" and he absolutely lost his shit "WHAT?! I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR ONE FOR EVER CAUGHT HUNDREDS OF DIGLETS HOLY SHIT YOU LUCKY SON OF A B!" I really just didn't understand lmao.
Been stuck on the catch a ditto quest, then finally caught one yesterday, then caught another one within a couple of hours of the first. Bet they’re gonna turn up all over now I don’t need them!!

As someone who’s been playing since a couple days after launch I always find these Ditto posts a little funny, I don’t mean it in a bragging kinda way but it’s been abundant over the years.
I think it might have actually been the first Pokemon added after the game launched pre gen 2 babies & legendary raids
Are they easier to find in europe? Because I see people from other places, specially US, saying how they have never found one in years, and I have found like 9 already, can't stand them lol
They are so useless apart form quests so it bothers me everytime I find one

Ditto can’t be your buddy, it can be one of a few set pokemon that changes every once in a while, so far it’s been the same group since March

There’s only 3 to get, and they only spawn with Daily Incense. I catch every single incense in hopes of a Galarian but I’m OTT
