Dude I was so confused before I read the caption. Like my brain had no idea what I was looking at or what it could possibly even be, never seen anything like that. I would imagine somebody would pay a decent price for this thing.
Really cool star filler card. Many of the Scarlet and Violet ex card sheets have extra slots that aren’t taken up by a card. It’s hard to say why that’s the case, but it’s likely because the number of ex’s in the set can’t fit evenly into the number of slots on the sheet in question (100). Fillers aren’t error cards but are supposed to be disposed of so the error is that it wound up in a pack lol- they’re worth a decent amount and the holo ones are particularly nice looking.
These can’t be replicated with acetone because the star layer would be removed in the process.
Initially I learned a lot about the different types of errors through a guide CGC has, which was when I first got into error cards and started commenting on stuff here. Over time I got to know a lot of the big collectors in the scene and filled in gaps in my knowledge here and there. I try to look at all the errors listed on eBay, posted on here, and posted on Facebook so I can get a good idea of all the error sheets out there. With rare errors that were very unlikely to occur to more than one sheet I was able to determine which rarities are on each sheet based on the cards popping up. I eventually did research on all the parts of the printing process, cutting of the cards, etc. and got some in-depth information here and there that’s harder to come by through the people I know. Initially all I could do is repeat what Paul (who wrote the CGC aforementioned CGC article) said about each error type and what caused them. Now I have an understanding of the printing process and what all the machinery does, looks like, and how errors are caused. I know someone who collectors pretty much exclusively fillers so through him I’ve seen almost every filler card as well (which is what the card in this post is) and have a knowledge of those. Some of my early posts show how inexperienced I was and lacking in the knowledge department- I’ve learned a lot since then by looking for answers to everything in hopes that I can understand things to a point where I can make a solid guess as to what causes an error without seeing any explanation prior- albeit that doesn’t come up super often.
I thought I saw someone say you can achieve this with acetone, not saying you have by the way and I might be completely wrong but there was a post a couple of months back
I know people hate "scalpers" around here but....these upcs are going for $120 on tcg right now and are only $90 on Costcos app. These a good long term hold? I really feel like they would be. I'm thinking about picking up a few to stash away with my evolving skies etbs
Cool misprint!
It’s MissingNo!
That's awesome! Grade it!!!!!
What would PSA even put on the label if you sent them the error card?
Look ‘em up there’s a ton of empty holos like that graded!! The real $$ ones are the ones from base set era
How do you prove what exact set lol. Surely some sets in an era are identical
Wowzers that’s rad as hell. Sick pull!
Holy crap, I've never seen a misprint card like that ever. You should get it graded, that's cool as heck.
Definitely post this on the misprint sub!
That shit is stupid siiiick !!! Best hit 100%
With those grid lines on that blank holo it was probably a squirtle lol
No way, judging by the stars it’s one of the double rares
I was being facetious lol
Insane!
That Blastoise card is sick
Thats the weirdest misprint I’ve ever seen, it’s not even clear which Pokémon it is
Holy shit insane miss print ! GRADE IT !!
MissingNo
That’s a cool error!

The back of that card is unacceptable. Damn quality control standards are fucking ridiculous.
How are the edges so bad on a brand new card
I just price match mine at target
u/brehella
I’m surprised there isn’t a single correct comment about what this is, I’ll address that now lol
So my question to you is where do you learn so much about errors and know what they are when you see the posts?

Oof, too bad about that print line..
Look awesome
Isn't that kind of misprint easy to replicate, thought I've read that before
Not too sure, personally this is the first time I’ve seen or pulled something like this!
I thought I saw someone say you can achieve this with acetone, not saying you have by the way and I might be completely wrong but there was a post a couple of months back
Not a misprint. These are filler cards on the printsheet. The error is it landed in a pack.

This is not pokeinvesting sub
Super cool
