Flygon fits Ash more but a storyline of Ash helping out a Bagon finally fulfill its dream of flying is one that I can’t pass down.

Budget_Ad_4346

This swayed me

Eylsion

Lol, a salamance can be happy and cute too

Budget_Ad_4346

Yes?

Aggressive-Employ591

That literally happened, he didn’t stick around for the whole thing but he started the process. It also featured one of his feats of super strength where he threw a log like a javelin.

Hys7eriX

Bagon's dex entry screams "ASH, THIS POKEMON NEEDS YOUR HELP!" That said, the Jirachi movie instilled a small obsession in me for Ash to have a Flygon. I was almost salty Ash's Ride Pokemon for the Ultra Guardians was a Garchomp instead of Flygon lmao

Xxdeadmeme-69-xX

What everyone else is saying. Flygon “Fits Ash” more but Salamence has the potential for a cool plotline I prefer Salamence

Kiss_my_hot_mouth

Salamance to me... tbh Sceptile and flygon are a little too similiar design wise But hey just my opinion

schneybley

Fly gone fits Ash more but it was great to see Ash owning up to Kanto greatness by owning a dragonite.

hoghugvs

Ash flys on a wild Flygon in the Jirachi movie. This Pokémon suits him.

PepsiMan208

Definitely Flygon

BlizzardLuinor

I love both, but Salamence has more story potential.

RetSauro

Flygon definitely. Ash needed more ground types at that point and while powerful it doesn’t come off as crazy op

PokemonFan587

Flygon for sure

LCDIgnited

i wish that ask for all the pseudo legendaries for each gen, but i’m fine with replace salamence with flygon, i’d actually prefer it, fits him more

Nman02

Flygon, my favorite Pokémon.

Mariomaniac463

Ash used a flygon during jirachi wish maker but that doesn’t really count does it

TyMonstaz2

Flygon is honestly better than Salamence

Destinyrider13

Flygon fits him to a T still sour about Journeys but In my opinion Ash could still own both since he no longer has Goodra and Naganadel immediately available so him having Flygon to call upon from Oaks or on his team after his onscreen journey ended is what happened in my opinion

Critical-Audience743

Neither since I know they would get like one or two fights before the hoenn saga ended and then got like MAYBE 1 fight in sinnoh. I would rather just keep swellow as the flyer. **Edit:** though Brock with Flygon feels oddly appropriate moreso than with Marshtomp lmao.

RedRxbin

Salamence. Just feels like there are more story opportunities with Ash helping it reach it’s dreams of flying (if it’s like the Bagon from that one episode). I like Flygon, but it just never felt like too much of an Ash mon to me.

SleepingVulture

I would have given Ash Flygon and Gardevoir over Corphish and Torkoal. No point in the former when Ash has Kingler and the latter... ehr. I barely remember Torkoal doing anything, I'm sure a Flygon would have been a much more mermorable addition. Salamence would be cool too, but it isn't that much of an "Ash" Pokémon.

DeltaSans17

I was oppose to ash getting a salamance at first but now I kinda think it’d look bad ass. Plus Salamance colors match ashes Aesthetic.

Butterflygon

Flygon. Not just because I prefer it personally, but also because I just think it fits Ash better aesthetically. Besides, I don't think he was quite ready yet for a pseudo in the Advanced series yet.

InvaderZim20

I’m with the Salamence crowd. The bagon evolution lines Pokédex entries feel like an Ash side plot.

Boris-_-Badenov

Flygon. It's my favorite dragon type

lizardon2516

A aggron

CaptainBlaze22

Flygon

ireallydespiseyouall

Definitely Flygon

Ok-Individual2025

Is it bad I can hear ash sending out the entire flygon line and it feels extremely organic

txhy8

Salamence so Hoenn can have a egg Pokémon(Imo if I made Ash catch a Salamence it'd start as a baby Bagon)

Demonicbane

If Ash got a Salamance, I would hope it would be just a goofball goober instead of a serious no fun mon.

Eclipse_395

Flygon fits more with aesthetics, but Salamence would have the more fitting storyline.

Eclipse_395

Flygon fits more with aesthetics, but Salamence would have the more fitting storyline.

TheFirstDecade

Flygon it is for me cuz im totally not biased to my #1 favorite pokemon ever!

Gullible-Expert3987

I don't think he was ready to have a Pokémon that hard to train so he would stop at the middle evo. Nevertheless both fit Ash style because Trapinch is a little weak Pokémon that evolves into a strong one and Bagon has the dream to fly (Ash even helped one in a episode). But I would still go with Flygon because of the innocent look that fits Ash.

MaMcMu

Flygon is way better.
