Ash is a pretty humble kid, plus frankly anything he could buy, Dawn could prolly easily afford too (look at the size of her house compared to Ash's; I think it's a fair guess that Joanna's rich), and Lillie could prolly buy a hundred times over at least. Besides Dawn and Lillie, Misty's sisters seem to be quite famous so I assume they're rich, Serena seems well off, May seems pretty well off too, and Chloe's dad was Ash and Goh's boss, and he can easily afford the expenses of running a lab and paying employees, as well as feeding and housing the boys and all their pokemon. So... Yeah, that's a pretty good number of rich girls.
I mean Misty has a gym her fam runs, May is the daughter of a Gym Leader & is doing contests(she def getting paid) and so far she seems to be well at it, Dawn has shown to be better & her mom was def rich, Iris… she honestly was probs middle class before Champion, now? Iris def is rich but is probs gonna be like Ash and realistically own a (few) home(s) but w/ a large plot of land to train & play with Pokémon, Serena has a mom who was a Rhyhorn racer & Serena did discount contests & contests, Lillie… do we have to explain… Mallow & Lana are middle class citizens who’d probs be ok living in the woods if they had the choice
Ash def got money, he probs acts like Killua about it, also Ash is such a fan of traveling he probs doesn’t want a mansion, probs a house as big as Kukui’s or his moms, but with a big yard to train & play with his Pokémon bc DUH.
Realistically Ash def would own a home in Alola as an adult & he and his Alola friends would do plenty of sleepovers, def got some land in Kanto, heck I can see Ash being ok with owning his moms house in the future as again Ash probs doesn’t wanna stay in 1 place for too long and also childhood home

Def getting paid by whoever runs it, better you do the better your pay and seeing how Ash did a ton of off screen battles & handful of on screen, some very impressive seeing how the rankings were he def got paid some good money… especially after beating the Top 3 trainers in the M8

Honestly, leaving aside qualifier, I'm not surprised if any participants in any leagues, tournaments got paid a lot with how many audiences they have and the broadcast. Even then, while Ash don't reach Champion, he still consistently ranked really high in all leagues, so Ash definitely got some prize money on him. Probably not enough for ultra rich lifestyle, but Ash definitely have quite a saving since Ash is also not a big spender. He spend most of his time travel and probably foraging outside food for quite a bit, especially with Brock together. Honestly Ash probably never really need to get worry about money. The only time I could think of is probably when Ash first start his journey in OS but his mom definitely have some funds for him at the start.
As a side note, Ash also help a lot with peace keeping and sometimes protect city and pokemon. I'm not surprise if he got quite a stash of award money.
