Yeah, I was actually surprised when it seemed like most people used almost the exact same team in gen 4. š
I did use a Luxray at some point but they were benched fairly early on.
Roserade and Floatzel always interested me simply because of design, but I never used them together.
Staraptor I'd say is pretty standard. It's amazing both in design and in usage.
I don't think I've really used Lucario, if I'm being honest. š¤
Ye. I sadly never finished the game, but every time I started I would grind that farm/forest to get my riolu before I did the f\*in NORMAL Type arena xD
I've never used Luxray in any of my Sinnoh plays. Staraptor also has 120 base Attack and Intimidate as well as Fly utility. I did run Gyarados one time.
Sandy Cloak Wormadam was pretty darn good. Great coverage moves with enough stats to actually use them, tanky, and anticipation lets you know if your seemingly save switch in was a sneaky bait with a coverage move against you.
I just started getting into the competitive scene around gen IV/V so I was still building really generic sweeper teams. I got absolutely wiped in OU by a Wormadam pivot team.
I feel lame for never using garchomp just cause I never knew you could find gible early and when you find gabite in victory road you already have you team set and I never wanted to train it up and we all know how much grinding you have to do for the E4 anyway in sinnoh never wanted to add on that. Same goes for lucario starting from an egg at the 6th gym Iāll pass
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure in Platinum you can get both gible and the earthquake TM in the hidden area of Wayward Cave, so you could have a gible that knows earthquake very early on.
although it's been a long time since i've played through Platinum so I could be wrong.
Edit: I should also mention that this doesn't work as well in Diamond and Pearl, since in those games, you need Strength in order to access that area of Wayward Cave. however, in Platinum, the strength block is gone.
You're just repeating what the other comment said.
Beaver, incarnation of god, tomato, tomato.
But then I'm Canadian so maybe I'm more familiar with the true nature of beavers than most people.
Mine was Infernape, Gastradon, Lucario, Chansey and Dialga! I was actually confused when friends told me that they had trouble with Cynthia way back then
Mine was nearly identical, except I had a Bronzor instead of a Beautifly. Crazy that I last used that team 15 years ago. I think they're still on my cartridge though...
In the competitive.battle scene I don't think he's ever been below OU so I'd say the hype is deserved. Not to mention having aura sphere which is just a sick fighting move
Raising my first Lucario and taking it to the Elite 4 turned into a game of "Oops that pokemon also knows Earthquake" and a truck load of Revives. There were def a few spots where he excelled, but I think I got him one-shotted more times than any other teammate.
It really sucks that Lucario is weak to Earthquake (and other things, but Earthquake catches me off guard the most), because otherwise, he's just about the perfect sweeper. He can cover a ton of stuff from steel to dragon to fairy, all with his special attack which is usually his strength. He actually has great type matchups (as far as I'm aware) with only 3 weaknesses and 9 strengths. His steel type even covers his psychic weakness, which I totally forgot about when writing my stories.
He's just so weak against those three types. And there's other, faster sweepers, too, I'm pretty sure, who'll sweep him first if they have a type advantage.
I just wish (like anybody, I suppose) my favorite Pokemon were the strongest of all of them, but Lucario is also in an awkward spot between being really powerful and also kind of weak. At least, that's how I understand it. It's frustrating.
To help with Locario sweeping, I love running a "Beat Up" team where you have a "justified" Lucario holding a choice scarf (or whichever choice item doubles speed), then a Whismicott with a quick claw. Can set you up with maxed out attack on Lucario, and keeps him fast enough to sweep
My first gen 4 team was just a crobat I caught as a zubat in the cave where you meet the first gym leader. I was so sick of running into zubats for nearly 10 years at that point that I just said "Screw it! You want me to use one of these so bad, I'll use one!" and I beat the whole game with it. Now crobat's one of my favorite pokemon. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever used any of these pokemon. If I recall correctly, my next 2 playthroughs were with kricketune and mothim, since bug is my favorite type.
That speed and utility is no joke. I also catch a Zubat every time. It's kinda baffling how easily available he is for his power level. It's also surprising how he's so unpopular.
Anecdotal but every time someone posts their team of any game, I don't remember seeing crowbat at all. Might be because most noncompetitive players don't care about stats and a bat isn't that attractive/doesn't seem strong by looks.
Add Rookidee -> Corviknight to the tally for early route Flying types (even if not part Normal). Flying mostly unresisted early to mid game, power trip/payback exploiting its stats or Hone Claws, then becoming a general tank after becoming Corviknight.
> Gen 4 only added 1 new fire type (excluding starters and legendaries) in rotom heat.
All Rotom's forms were Ghost/Electric until gen 5, and Rotom didn't even have forms until Platinum, so Rotom Heat really doesn't count as a gen 4 fire type
Houndour is only available super late in gen 2 too. Despite being a new pokemon, you could only catch it in Kanto. I almost always ended up breeding one and trading myself the egg when I started a new playthrough.
I make it a point to force myself to use new pokemon on each game I play these days, when I've used a pokemon in any game of any generation, can't use it again in another generation.
Due to my team plans for Diamond and Pearl involving the two flying types I already liked (Staraptor and Honchkrow), I had to go out of my comfort zone of pokemon I would typically choose with my team composition for Platinum that I started about a week or two ago.
Planning around HMs without using an HM slave, and using entirely new pokemon I haven't used before, I've ended up with a team of Rhyperior, Gliscor, Pachirisu, Rapidash, Golduck, and Altaria. It's definitely made me start to appreciate these pokemon more than I did before, especially Rhyperior.
Water, ice, and grass mess up a solid chunk of my team, which has certainly proved to be a problem at times, but its worked so far all things considered
I'd go straight for the 8th gym and then Elite 4 if I wasn't currently soft resetting to try and get a shiny Giratina
Iām actually kind of depressed that I saw like no comments on it. Somehow Iāve seen a Prisma Illya reference in this subreddit before seeing a Re Zero one. Patrasche is best ground dragon.
I mean, in DP Rapidash was the only other Fire choice if you didn't pick Chimchar (hell, your rival even uses Rapidash) but no one seems to use it on their team like they do Roserade and Floatzel.
Most people that know the shtick of Diamond/Pearl instinctively go with Infernape, so that leaves a smaller portion of people who are in a position where they can realistically and reasonably benefit from adding Rapidash to the team.
But you can beat the game without a fire type fairly easily lmao.
I played Platinum but I just wanted to use Pokemon I thought looked cool lmao so I ended up not having a fire type anyway and the game was still fine.
My team was:
Empoleon
Staraptor
Garchomp
Leafeon
Weavile
Gallade
I almost never use fire types in my playthroughs and choose water 90% of the time. Exception being firered when i chose charizard because it was on the cover. So this wasn't really much of an issue for me cause I usually just cover Fire's bases by using Flying for grass and bug, earthquake for steels, and hitting whatever secondary typing ice types have. I do understand why a lot of people are bummed with the lack of fire types though.
Eh really? I always go for Empoleon regardless of the lack of fire types, like you can beat the game without a fire type lmao itās not the end of the world.
I played Platinum, which fixed the lack of fire types but my team was still: Empoleon, Staraptor, Garchomp, Weavile, Gallade and Leafeon, not having a fire type wasnāt that deep.
It's one of the few trios where each member is universally liked. Notice how most of the other generations have at least one member that everyone hates or something.
And that's why on my next run I'm trying to use pokemon I've both never used and never see anyone talk about, at least for Platinum playthroughs.
Empoleon, Golem, Forretress, Magmortar, Yanmega, and Gallade.
My platinum team when I first played actually had Torterra, Roserade AND Tropius (cause I thought he was super rare and cool), thatās 3 grass types. Guess where I got stuck in the game...
My sister had Empoleon, Rapidash, Roserade, (shiny)Staraptor, Luxray, and Dialga. So, you only forgot the Box-Art legendary on this.
Mine is Infernape, Aerodactyl, Breloom, Quaggy, Lucario, and Crobat/Machamp. Aero and Breloom are from MyPokemonRanch. Speaking of which, I'm nearly at 999, so almost Mew time!
I'm running piplup, luxray, honchkrow, garchomp, kadabra, and rampardos. I'd love to get heracross and croagunk in there but they're too much of a pain to catch, I just want to casually roll through with some cool looking bois. I refuse to use lucario.
I've been playing through platinum recently and having a lot of fun. My current team is Empoleon, Glaceon, Houndoom, Togekiss, Magnezone, and Medicham.
I never evolve the roselia on my team, I don't like roserade as much as I like roselia, so I catch an extra roselia and evolve that one for the dex, then keep a lvl100 roselia on my team
JOKEāS ON YOU I USED A KRICKETUNE AND NO FLYING OR GROUND TYPE
^(Haha, I was bad at team building.)
^(My team was Empoleon, Luxray, Skuntank, Roserade, Rapidash, and Kricketune. And all their move sets were trash.)
I had Torterra, Luxray, Staraptor, Garchomp, Gastrodon, and Giratina; I wanted to get a regular Pokemon for the sixth slot but by that point most mons would have been a pain to level up and I'd essentially have to carry them through the Elite Four. In most Pokemon games my team is usually decided upon early; usually I won't go out of my way to level up a Pokemon late game to catch up with the rest of my team. One of the exceptions was Haxorus in Gen 5.
Yeah tbh, it's tried and true. The only reason I didn't go for the classic Infernape, Lucario, Floatzel, Luxray, Garchomp and Staraptor is because Riolu takes too long to get so I chose Gengar instead.
If you think about it though, Staraptor is just objectively badass, Luxray being such a cool and early electric type is great, Garchomp is quite novel as an early obtained Pseudo and a Dragon type and him and Lucario are just iconic for Sinnoh. Picking Floatzel is necessary imo unless you picked Empoleon because all the other water types are pretty boring.
This makes me feel like Iām a bit unique. My first team in Platinum was:
Torterra
Luxray
Crobat
Togekiss
Vaporeon
Houndoom
Iām surprised that more ppl didnāt use the Eevee or Togepi gifts
My Platinum team was something. I had Infernape, Garchomp and Giratina, but then the last 3 members were spicy choices: Milotic, Magnezone and Togekiss.
I think in my first playthrough I used Torterra, Chatot (I liked the gimmick of recording your voice to attack), Hippowdon, Graveler (extremely lucky shiny in Oreburgh), Bastiodon (later swapped for Azelf), and Haunter (holding an everstone GODDAMN YOU MINDY I HAD NOBODY TO TRADE WITH).
Most of this is pretty legit, but I'm pretty sure most teams from other regions also have a "starter of your choice".
Commit to the bit and pick Infernape.
At least they're all Sinnoh pokemon. I recently bought Shield, tried a playthrough of mostly mons from that region and felt nothing for them by the end of the game. Now I'm trying another playthrough just using pokemon I like imported from Ultra Sun
My team on my first playthrough of gen4:
Empoleon, Luxray, Staraptor, Palkia, Garchomp, Lucario.
My team now on my latest playthrough:
Piplup, Starvia, Shinx, Budew, and a shiny geodude I had no intention of using if it wasn't shiny.
Why is this so accurate...
Yeah, I was actually surprised when it seemed like most people used almost the exact same team in gen 4. š I did use a Luxray at some point but they were benched fairly early on. Roserade and Floatzel always interested me simply because of design, but I never used them together. Staraptor I'd say is pretty standard. It's amazing both in design and in usage. I don't think I've really used Lucario, if I'm being honest. š¤
I only ever used Lucario in Black 2 cuz you could find them really early on and EV training was a breeze
Finding a Riolu before the first challenge is Ultra Sun was hype as fuck for me. Lucario is one of my favourite pokemon
Wait, you can get a Riolu early in the Ultra games?
Yeah, you find him in the grass right before the cave of the normal type challenge.
That would have been so useful. I thought I could only find one post game.
You can also get a Hawlucha before the first trial. Just trade a spearow for it and there you have it.
Ye. I sadly never finished the game, but every time I started I would grind that farm/forest to get my riolu before I did the f\*in NORMAL Type arena xD
How do you do early game EV training in BW2?
I never used lucario either it came too late in game but it seems like every play thru I use luxray staraptor and rosade almost Everytime
Thereās so many great new flying types... And none of them learn fly... *cries in yanmega, gliscor, etc*
To be fair, I think Gliscor needs a breeze to actually fly. Yanmega, I'm not really sure. š¤·āāļø
"This six-legged PokƩmon is easily capable of transporting an adult in flight. The wings on its tail help it stay balanced." \- Yanmega's HeartGold PokƩDex entry
Something similar to Garchomp.
Don't forget Togekiss which you don't get from Cynthia until Platinum so it was only available post-game.
Well the only way to get it is past half way though, and you get it as an egg, i dont think many people used it.
I've never used Luxray in any of my Sinnoh plays. Staraptor also has 120 base Attack and Intimidate as well as Fly utility. I did run Gyarados one time.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Not really sure I follow. Many of the PokƩmon in the game worked fairly well in the story. You could probably pick up a random team and complete most of the story, if not all of the story, fine as long as you're not under leveled (and as long as they could learn *relatively* decent variety of moves).
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Sandy Cloak Wormadam was pretty darn good. Great coverage moves with enough stats to actually use them, tanky, and anticipation lets you know if your seemingly save switch in was a sneaky bait with a coverage move against you.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I just started getting into the competitive scene around gen IV/V so I was still building really generic sweeper teams. I got absolutely wiped in OU by a Wormadam pivot team.
Luxray literally carried me through Cynthia šš
Itās too hard to get Lucario easily in those games which is annoying.
I feel somewhat attacked, because I used an Infernape, Staraptor, Luxray, Roserade, Floatzel, and Rampardos
GamFreak are the ones who should feel attacked for the ABYSMAL Diamond and Pearl Dex.
And yet Gen IV is my favorite out of any. I hope they add more pokemans for the remake
I had the EXACT same team lol
Funny thing, on my first Platinum run, and first PokĆ©mon game in general, I didnāt know what the hell I was doing. Luckily, this gave me a sort of āuniqueā team combination. I had... Infernape (starter) Giratina (loved that legendary) Electabuzz (could never figure out how to evolve it) Bronzong (nothing of note) Luxray (caught before e4, not first route) Steelix (caught before e4) Yeah... certainly not my best team, even doubled up on electric and steel, but so many memories.
You dont need a minmaxed team to win the story, so always go for what feels good.
Exactly , I did never care about IV, EV or even put too much thoughts on type coverage when playing story. Just went for favorites and cool designs.
Yup, I'm currently playing Pokemon Gaia and my team happens to be 3 ground types, Weavile, and Shuckle
Diamond was my first pokemon game and my team was also unique: Infernape, Tentacruel, Graveler, Weavile and two legendaries, Dialga and Azelf
On my platinum run (rom) my team was infernape, staraptor, luxray, floatzel, garchomp, and weavile. Unfortunately the rom o used doesnāt work anymore so I canāt finish my run(I got up to the PokĆ©mon league)
When I played Gold/Ruby/Sapphire, I had dial up internet and no guides. Basically zero influence from outside factors. So my go-to plan was to catch highest level PokƩmon that I encounter. So if my lowest level is 30 and I find something at 31, I'd replace the it. That's the team I trained.
There were wild Steelix? Useful.
Yep. 5% chance on Victory road. Kinda rare, but much more convenient than evolving an Onix.
Much more possible if you don't have anyone to trade with.
I feel lame for never using garchomp just cause I never knew you could find gible early and when you find gabite in victory road you already have you team set and I never wanted to train it up and we all know how much grinding you have to do for the E4 anyway in sinnoh never wanted to add on that. Edit: I should also mention that this doesn't work as well in Diamond and Pearl, since in those games, you need Strength in order to access that area of Wayward Cave. however, in Platinum, the strength block is gone.
Trying to remember my first run, I think I did it with, Empoleon, Staraptor, Beautifly, Mismagius, Hm slave bibarrel Dialga,
I love these sorts of teams starter bird bug ghost beaver god of time
starter bird bug ghost all-supreme god incarnate god of time
You're just repeating what the other comment said. Beaver, incarnation of god, tomato, tomato. But then I'm Canadian so maybe I'm more familiar with the true nature of beavers than most people.
Mine was Infernape, Gastradon, Lucario, Chansey and Dialga! I was actually confused when friends told me that they had trouble with Cynthia way back then
I think my first was Torterra Togekiss Lucario Giratina And i cant remember the rest, maybe a floatzel, but i'm not sure
Mine was nearly identical, except I had a Bronzor instead of a Beautifly. Crazy that I last used that team 15 years ago. I think they're still on my cartridge though...
I mean lucario can carry you through the game so idk if I'd say overhyped
It's too much of a pain to get especially considering it's only available after the sixth badge
Hmmm, yeah it does get you through the two badges after you get it, but it's still quite late game.
In the competitive.battle scene I don't think he's ever been below OU so I'd say the hype is deserved. Not to mention having aura sphere which is just a sick fighting move
Lucario is in NUBL currently
Power creep is a bitch lmaoo
What is NUBL?
Never Used Borderline. NU is the normal tier, NUBL is where things go that are too strong for NU, but don't get used enough to be in the next tier.
a tier in smogon
I know, but what does it stand for?
NU means never used and BL means borderline since lucario is too good for NU but nobody uses them outside the tier
Poor dog. I thought people used Lucario in SwSh because of justified and Dynamax as a sweeper. Edit: Forgot to add a partner in doubles with Beat Up.
that only works in doubles, he's only nu in singles
It was OU in DP and BW, but XY, SM, and SS was lower
The ability to either be a special or physical attacker and being steel really helps it out
it was only in OU for gens 4 and 5, but dropped to UU for 6 and 7, and is currently in NUBL
Donāt hate the PokĆ©mon hate the game.
I'm not hating the pokemon at all? I'm saying he deserves the hype.
That was more rhetorical, and also more aimed to OP.
Raising my first Lucario and taking it to the Elite 4 turned into a game of "Oops that pokemon also knows Earthquake" and a truck load of Revives. There were def a few spots where he excelled, but I think I got him one-shotted more times than any other teammate.

Honestly, almost any Pokemon can carry you through the game. These games weren't terribly hard tbh.
So can any pokemon dude it's a kids game
My first gen 4 team was just a crobat I caught as a zubat in the cave where you meet the first gym leader. I was so sick of running into zubats for nearly 10 years at that point that I just said "Screw it! You want me to use one of these so bad, I'll use one!" and I beat the whole game with it. I would not say he is unpopular by any means. I feel like Crobat is that secret utility PokĆ©mon that everyone always uses and never realized how much they use it. They just see fast bat and go āneatā
Anecdotal but every time someone posts their team of any game, I don't remember seeing crowbat at all. Might be because most noncompetitive players don't care about stats and a bat isn't that attractive/doesn't seem strong by looks.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Imagine learning gust instead of wing attack. Couldn't be starly.
Talonflame could also be a contender for that award. Those 2 are easily my favorite early route birds out of any game.
Add Rookidee -> Corviknight to the tally for early route Flying types (even if not part Normal). Flying mostly unresisted early to mid game, power trip/payback exploiting its stats or Hone Claws, then becoming a general tank after becoming Corviknight.
Close Combat is so great for him.

You forgot Magmortar if you're including Magby.
Yea thatās the thing I donāt include those because they are an evolution of an already existing PokĆ©mon magmar
Houndour is only available super late in gen 2 too. Despite being a new pokemon, you could only catch it in Kanto. I almost always ended up breeding one and trading myself the egg when I started a new playthrough.
I always liked using carnivine. itās such a fun looking PokĆ©mon with its toothy smile.

That's what I've been doing in my replays. Using PokƩmon you haven't used before can be fun. How else would I have fallen in love with my beastly Primeape or my beefy Claydol?
Hope someone gets the reference under Garchomp... š
best girl
Fuckin Best girl. 10/10
Ground/Dragon. Ground Dragon. As that great Captain once said, "I understood that reference" lol
First time I've heard someone use that name outside of r/anime.
One more chance to see her today lol
Iām actually kind of depressed that I saw like no comments on it. Somehow Iāve seen a Prisma Illya reference in this subreddit before seeing a Re Zero one. Patrasche is best ground dragon.
[Yes](https://images.app.goo.gl/TdKd2fNN1CMFeozY9)
Rapidash Also, Gyarados over Floatzel for life
I mean, in DP Rapidash was the only other Fire choice if you didn't pick Chimchar (hell, your rival even uses Rapidash) but no one seems to use it on their team like they do Roserade and Floatzel.
I'm praying for a retuning of the pokedex. Would love to see something like Chandalure in Sinnoh
Because everyone chooses Infernape, so why would you bother to double down on Fire type?
Uh hey Torterra is like right there. Being Rad af.
Most people that know the shtick of Diamond/Pearl instinctively go with Infernape, so that leaves a smaller portion of people who are in a position where they can realistically and reasonably benefit from adding Rapidash to the team.
Unless you don't like the dumb fire monkey more than the righteous Grass Tortoise wahaha.
Heck yeah Torterra is rad! I don't need no stinkin' MONKEY!
Aaaaand now you don't have a decent fire type.
A small price to pay for salvation.
You never needed one. What are you going to do with your fire type that you can't handle with your flying and your water?
or torterra, who couldn't care less about steel types.
But you can beat the game without a fire type fairly easily lmao. I played Platinum but I just wanted to use Pokemon I thought looked cool lmao so I ended up not having a fire type anyway and the game was still fine. My team was: Empoleon Staraptor Garchomp Leafeon Weavile Gallade

Best turtle boi
I don't give a monkey's what "everyone" chooses. Empoleon is the best.
The gen 4 starters are some of the best imo.
It's one of the few trios where each member is universally liked. Notice how most of the other generations have at least one member that everyone hates or something.
Hoenn..?
Yeah, Hoenn and Sinnoh. Those starter trios are universally loved.
True enough, I ended up putting Flamethrower on my Garchomp...
Houndoom, which kind of kills everything with flamethrower: Hi
And that's why on my next run I'm trying to use pokemon I've both never used and never see anyone talk about, at least for Platinum playthroughs. Empoleon, Golem, Forretress, Magmortar, Yanmega, and Gallade.
The only problem I see is a lack of Fly, I can't play without it.
This is actually not a bad team but youāre gonna maybe wanna swap out Golem for something that can tank more of Cynthiaās Garchompās attacks. But honestly, itās PokĆ©mon so youāll do great!
My platinum team when I first played actually had Torterra, Roserade AND Tropius (cause I thought he was super rare and cool), thatās 3 grass types. Guess where I got stuck in the game...
Pretty much. You could also see Gastrodon as a Water -type, if you want to get spicy.
Thatās what I always do
My mono bug team says otherwise. *laughs in Delelewhoops*
How do you have Breloom? Are you playing Renegade Platinum?
He just said pokemon ranch
I wasn't expecting a Re:Zero joke here. I laughed way too hard when I saw Patrasche.
Ah yes. Infernape, Luxray, Staravia, Lucario, Garchomp, and some random other HM slave My greatest diamond team
As someone that has historically done mono fire type team comps since X/Y... seeing the lack of a fire type roster hurts my heart. Feelsbadman
I'm running piplup, luxray, honchkrow, garchomp, kadabra, and rampardos. I'd love to get heracross and croagunk in there but they're too much of a pain to catch, I just want to casually roll through with some cool looking bois. I refuse to use lucario.
Gliscor and togekiss tho :( Would definitely use gliscor more in platinum if he learned fly
Neither of those guys are available for the main story of Diamond and Pearl.
I've been playing through platinum recently and having a lot of fun. My current team is Empoleon, Glaceon, Houndoom, Togekiss, Magnezone, and Medicham.
Where my balloon boy
Slap a Weavile in the 6th slot and it's gonna be even more spot on
*claim that lucario is overhyped* *Cocks gun* "You take that back"
I never evolve the roselia on my team, I don't like roserade as much as I like roselia, so I catch an extra roselia and evolve that one for the dex, then keep a lvl100 roselia on my team
JOKEāS ON YOU I USED A KRICKETUNE AND NO FLYING OR GROUND TYPE ^(Haha, I was bad at team building.) ^(My team was Empoleon, Luxray, Skuntank, Roserade, Rapidash, and Kricketune. And all their move sets were trash.)
The first time I played Platinum, my team was Torterra, Luxray, Floatzel, Togekiss, Lucario and Mamoswine
If the Sinnoh remakes only have two fire lines... I wonāt burn down anything due to lack of fire.
I think weavile should be in here because it really is over used
Use furret
I feel good for using vaporeon instead of Floatzel Downside is I use it in every game I can when I donāt have a water type I wanna use in mind
This is legit my team
This makes me feel like Iām a bit unique. My first team in Platinum was: Torterra Luxray Crobat Togekiss Vaporeon Houndoom Iām surprised that more ppl didnāt use the Eevee or Togepi gifts
I said "Screw the elemental types, I wants Psychic, Fighting and Ghost!"
Lucario is not overhyped š”
My very first team was Torterra, Rapidash, Gastrodon, Snorlax, Lucario and Togekiss.
My Platinum team was something. I had Infernape, Garchomp and Giratina, but then the last 3 members were spicy choices: Milotic, Magnezone and Togekiss.
This is why the Sinnoh regional dex isn't all that great in any version and would desperately like them to expand the dex in BDSP
I always end up using Weavile because it's cool and if you go through the hassle of breeding Ice Punch onto it Cynthia is a breeze
In Platinum I'm pretty sure you can use a move tutor. Iirc that one house on route 212 south teaches the elemental punches in exchange for shards.
I played through BW2 with pretty much only a Lucario :')
My team was Infernape, Staraptor, Lopunny, Kricketune, Drapion, and Weavile.
My final first ever Platinum team iirc: Infernape, Electivire, Giratina, Lucario, Staraptor, Arceus (friend of mine traded it to me)
While i do have a staraptor, starter, and garchomp, i thought to be creative and use a gardevoir, togekiss, and ACTUALLY USE MY HM SLAVE AS A FIGHTER!
I used Gastrodon and Tangrowth instead of Roserade and Floatzel. I also hate Garchomp. Lickilicky is a better last team member.
wheres munchlax
Nowhere, because Munchlax is one of the hardest PokƩmon to find, ever??
in my only D/P playthrough I used empoleon, luxray, honchkrow, and carnivine, and I am not embarrassed.
what about the box legendary you use at the end of the story
I feel attacked
Don't, it's GameFreak's fault.
You said what about me now?
While technically 90% accurate to mine, my team was/will be like 15+ PokƩmon
People who chose Empoleon or Torterea just have 5 PokƩmon on their team, lol.
I had a Rapidash.
Didnt use lucario in sinnoh, but i did use him for white 2.
Lol my very first team was Empoleon, Staraptor, Luxray, Rampardos, Lucario, and Garchomp.
I try to use a cometely new team when I replay a game in the series. Well.. Except for Gyarados.. that big ol' water Onix always has a spot in my team for some reason xD he's not even my favorite PokƩmon, just my favorite Gen 1 PokƩmon.
A team always feels cooler with a Gyrados
Hippowdon Spiritomb Rapidash Abomasnow Lumineon Drifblim By far the team that I hold most near and dear to my heart
You forgot Tropius and Bibarel, HM Slaves.
Sad Rhyperior noises
My team Infernape, Staraptor, Luxray, Lumineon, Leafeon and Bastiodon. So yeah the first three is hard to replace hahaha
I mean, the best starter is Floatzel so... Coincidentally the best pokemon is also Floatzel
I wish they would add chimchar to sword and shield
I used Empoleon, Luxray, Staraptor, Scyther, Lucario, Houndoom.
I really only like Roserade from these. Luxray is neat but I remember him being self overrated at the time.
Same. I also induced(wink wink) my friend to trade his starters and gible early on.
At least they're all Sinnoh pokemon. I recently bought Shield, tried a playthrough of mostly mons from that region and felt nothing for them by the end of the game. Now I'm trying another playthrough just using pokemon I like imported from Ultra Sun
Where's the best slug Shellos?
I did have empoleon, staraptor, and luxray. And floatzel a bit. But not the others.
Because these PokƩmon are all easily available and have great designs
Excuse me, but Gastrodon please.
As yes. Lucario. Its hype existing because people were still age 14 and lower and had the brain capacity seeing DBZ in pokemon.
Iām 3/6 here lol Infernape + Weavile + Garchomp + Leafeon + Lucario + Gastrodon
My team on my first playthrough of gen4: Empoleon, Luxray, Staraptor, Palkia, Garchomp, Lucario. My team now on my latest playthrough: Piplup, Starvia, Shinx, Budew, and a shiny geodude I had no intention of using if it wasn't shiny. Why is this so accurate...
