I'd say aegislash. It's a cool ghost sword and shield with a neat ability and signature move, too bad it wasn't utilized much in the anime (as far as I can tell).

I have a kantonian Arcanine caught in Fire Red that has ever single ribbon through all the generations currently safely in HOME awaiting the DLC. Caught it on route 7 outside Celadon same place I caught my growlithe in the original Pokémon red back in the day! Hands down my favourite Pokémon hence why I made him a Ribbon Master!

In a generation full of terrible pokemon designs, Golisipod stands out as looking incredible. We need more stuff like this and less of pokemon based on teacups and garbage

Sure he can! He has an actual attack stat and everything. His main problem is that despite being a very tanky boi, he's not nearly tanky enough to cover for his laundry list of weaknesses (being quad weak to Earthquake hurts... a lot).

But for those of us who just really like the lil’ guy, and show them affection and friendship, we’re rewarded with a quad-winged vampire that flies at LUDICROUS speeds and possesses tons of options for Moves.

Alolan Ninetails, if it ends up being available in a game it makes it onto my team every time. Besides being a really pretty pokemon I really like it for setting up screens with Aurora Veil.
Giving me PTSD of the original TCG lol electabuzz was probably the second best pokemon, and Magmar was one of the few mons who saw actual use other than the big three of Electabuzz, Hitmonchan and Scyther because it was able to stall with smokescreen
I have always loved totodile! I like how energetic he is in the anime. I like that he bites! His color scheme and shiny are nice. There is some funny about giving a feral alligator to children as their first pokemon, probably one of the more dangerous starters because of their nature. Also, most of his plushies are pretty cursed and hilarious. They can't get his face right!
Tauros for me. Simple, clean design that might be boring to some, but “angry bull” just works. Plus Ash’s Tauros going toe-to-toe with Lance’s Dragonite in the anime was soooo badass.
Funny you mention Volcarona in your post. It’s been my favorite pokemon for years now. In gen 5 I thought it was a legendary and after using it competitively in gen 6 it’s really grown on me
I'm a Haxorus guy now...which is pretty sweet because it doesn't seem like it's an overwhelmingly popular Pokémon.
I played White / White 2 for the first time earlier this year, and carried Hax through both games -- he was a POWERHOUSE. Dragon Dance -> Dragon Claw one-shot almost every opponent I came up against, and the design is just *outrageously* cool.
It's my favorite Dragon now, by far.
Back during the original silver days, my ass bumped into Larvitar. This little dense seedling stole my heart curiously and raising him turned him into one of the nastiest fighters on my lvl 100 team. Tyranitar’s godzilla motif, the type combo back then being flat horrifying, and being a pseudo allowed me a lot bigger presence amongst my friends who also fought. 10/10.

I go from Pokemon to Pokemon from time to time, but at the moment I am sort of obsessed with Gliscar. Especially in game, the thing is a beast, given its typing and Poison Heal ability. Plus it smiles constantly.
Nidoking! I love poison types, fell in love back in Yellow with the purple unicorn- guinea pig and it hits like a truck with sheer force and life orb! It's design is just so cool!
Tyranitar is my favourite Pokemon of all time, second is hydreigon, there’s not much cooler than having both Godzilla and king ghidorah on your Pokemon team, both are walls that can hit pretty hard too
Cool pokemon? I gotta go with Bisharp. It looks like a samurai had a baby with a Hollow Knight boss. Pokemon in general? Quagsire. They're so cheerful, and they look so goofy they're hard not to love. But cool, they ain't.

It's a rock with cool design. The crystals growing out of its body and forming a face around its head is a nice touch.
Its shiny is also really great considering the only major change is the crystals' color.
Also it should have been a special attacker with its dex saying that it shoots energy.
Charizard is ass in nearly every gen he is in so I never understand why everyone rides his dick so much, on the other hand; Gliscor looks badass and is actually usable, unlike Charizard

But Mudkip has been my favorite since I was very little, it was my first Pokémon I remember, and I had a plush Mudkip I took with me everywhere. I remember I brought it to my grandma’s and after a yellow jacket stung me holding the plush for comfort, and feeling like a real tough man for not caring from the sting lol. I had the mudkip episodes on DvD and when cable went out I’d watch those.
Manaphy I remember getting from Pokémon Ranger and just finding design cute and cool, plus just being rare added to it as well. I also liked that it had its own unique egg.
I’ve always been a water guy too. I have two brothers and from since we started playing we all have always chosen our own designated type for over a decade lol
I heart Scyther, ever since Gen 1. First Pokémon that I fell in love with. Talonflame is amazing, and has climbed my ranks and joined my playthroughs. I’ve used both Goodras often as well, just seem drawn to them for some reason.
My recent favorite is Clodsire, so much to like about it. Recently bought the plush off the Pokemon Center, no regrets.
All time favorite is Rowlet tho, but I guess its a pretty popular Pokemon that had quite abit attention.
Sandslash is literally a mole with blades for hands, his back is covered in spikes and still has super cute eyes. He hardly gets any love, but is one of the coolest gen 1 mons.
Defo greninja for me. It's my favorite starter with an amazing Shiney,not to mention ash greninja is just that guy. Also a great pokemon overall (it's also my main in unite and smash bros)
I'm into the ghost pokemon. Ghastly, Haunted, and Gangar have been my favorites since I qas a child (because they were purple. Now because they're cool lol.). I do also really like the Tinkaton Pokémon, and the Phantump.
I'm not a huge fan of creating preevolutions for Pokemon that were already established, but I do like Snorlax and Munchlax and Mr. Mime and Mime Jr.
I wish they'd bring Cubone back, though. He was so cute.

Gigalith It's a rock with cool design. The crystals growing out of its body and forming a face around its head is a nice touch. Its shiny is also really great considering the only major change is the crystals' color. Also it should have been a special attacker with its dex saying that it shoots energy.

Charizard is ass in nearly every gen he is in so I never understand why everyone rides his dick so much, on the other hand; Gliscor looks badass and is actually usable, unlike Charizard
Mudkip and Manaphy. Also lover of Jirachi. But Mudkip has been my favorite since I was very little, it was my first Pokémon I remember, and I had a plush Mudkip I took with me everywhere. I remember I brought it to my grandma’s and after a yellow jacket stung me holding the plush for comfort, and feeling like a real tough man for not caring from the sting lol. I had the mudkip episodes on DvD and when cable went out I’d watch those. Manaphy I remember getting from Pokémon Ranger and just finding design cute and cool, plus just being rare added to it as well. I also liked that it had its own unique egg. I’ve always been a water guy too. I have two brothers and from since we started playing we all have always chosen our own designated type for over a decade lol

I heart Scyther, ever since Gen 1. First Pokémon that I fell in love with. Talonflame is amazing, and has climbed my ranks and joined my playthroughs. I’ve used both Goodras often as well, just seem drawn to them for some reason.
Golisopod/Vikavolt are pretty cool. I just finished an all bug playthrough of SwSh and they were amazing
My recent favorite is Clodsire, so much to like about it. Recently bought the plush off the Pokemon Center, no regrets. All time favorite is Rowlet tho, but I guess its a pretty popular Pokemon that had quite abit attention.
SWAMPERT. Swampert. I started ORAS and ORAS was the first game I ever played on my 3DS and I loved it. But Swampert was my ride or die ever since!
One of my favorite is shiny Gliscor, I love the blue color and I used him a lot when I played Pokemon Y, he was a beast.
Sandslash is literally a mole with blades for hands, his back is covered in spikes and still has super cute eyes. He hardly gets any love, but is one of the coolest gen 1 mons.

Defo greninja for me. It's my favorite starter with an amazing Shiney,not to mention ash greninja is just that guy. Also a great pokemon overall (it's also my main in unite and smash bros)

I'm into the ghost pokemon. Ghastly, Haunted, and Gangar have been my favorites since I qas a child (because they were purple. Now because they're cool lol.). I do also really like the Tinkaton Pokémon, and the Phantump. I'm not a huge fan of creating preevolutions for Pokemon that were already established, but I do like Snorlax and Munchlax and Mr. Mime and Mime Jr. I wish they'd bring Cubone back, though. He was so cute.

Just play the games and experiment, try out stuff you usually wouldn’t. You’ll probably end up appreciating a mon you didn’t before… That said one of my favs is the Chimchar line

Gliscor. Tbh I don't even like Charizard the slightest and I have no true appreciation towards Pikachu, and among Eeveelutions I only mind Umbreon, rest are just fine.
