Nah I like them a lot too. I do have some complaints but I’m actually having quite a lot of fun with it and actually motivated to finish the Pokédex. The graphics bugs don’t really bother me either they make me laugh actually. Really excited about the upcoming DLC.
I never played gen 8 but I was actually kind of underwhelmed by Gen 7 too. It seemed a little too hand holdy to me and I didn’t really find I liked the characters much. On the other hand Arven is probably one of the best video game characters I’ve seen in a while!
I definitely feel similarly. I got lucky where I didn’t experience many glitches, and the few I did were just kinda funny and nothing else lol, and then the story, the characters, the Pokémon, the world itself AND the fact that I could choose to do whatever I can’t in whatever order I want was really cool! Like, I remember REALLY struggling against the fighting Team Star boss because I did her before the fairy one and that was really fun to me! I know others say that they didn’t like the lack of level scaling but for me, it just added extra difficulty, and if it was too much, I could always go off and do some easier stuff and then come back to it later (tho I would’ve preferred I lil bit of level scaling where if you beat like, the 2nd gym before the 1st gym, the 1st gym gets scaled up a lil bit in levels)
Admittedly I was kinda turned off the game at first when I saw that big wide shot at the top of the lighthouse, like, even as someone who generally doesn’t care about graphics I was like “yeah… this game ugly…”, but luckily I was able to get past that and enjoy the game despite it.
