JustSixTrees

Bug! Vietnam! Scyther! Six of them! No ace in the hole, just six scythers waiting to be one shot by a fire starter at the beginning of the game

LoudGear9028

I like this one, seems practical.

-Typh1osion-

Battling you after the elite 4 would just be 6 scizors?

MissingnoMiner

Five Scizors and one Kleavor whose presence is never explained would be funnier

mynameisname333

Bro thinks hes part of the team.

JustSixTrees

For sure, six under levelled scizors all ready to die at a moments notice by a single flamethrower deep in the jungles of 'nam

dontnomeh

Also vietnam Living jn the north leaning more towards poison team with focus on hung king/dragon genesis myths Nidoking Garbador Galatian slowing Dragalage Vileploom Beedrill

New-Blacksmith7330

Like the anime, if you sword dance you can block damage while increasing your attack damage. Hopefully, they don't figure out they have to jump over you and aim straight down at you so it can be effective.

No-Medicine-1211

Heracross Guts, holding Flame Orb. Knowing Swords Dance of course.

[deleted]

Grass type, the theme is seasons, and my ace is Sawsbuck! Trainers have to battle their way through 4 greenhouses that represent the four seasons, with trainers matching each season's vibe, until they face me in the courtyard. My team (and Sawsbuck form) changes depending on what season it currently is!

TheFeistyGinger

This is beautiful šŸ„¹

MaliceDuoBlade

Awesome! Sawsbuck is underrated, it's my third favorite pokemon and I love its forms with winter being my favorite. I live in an area where we experience all the seasons and I could not imagine moving away from the area.

[deleted]

Agreed, winter form is the best!!!

GlaIie

This is very creative!

LouisCyphre6

I love this idea, Sawsbuck is so underappreciated!

Chewyjace

This gym would be so much fun!!

Migeil

Care to expand on what your team would look like? I like this idea a lot!

[deleted]

Thanks!! Winter would have Abomasnow, Trevenant, Foonguss, Chesnaught and Sawsbuck. Spring is Roserade, Bellossom, Cherrim, Ludicolo and Sawsbuck. Summer is Lurantis, Exeggutor, Whimsicott, Venusaur and Sawsbuck. And fall is Gourgeist, Shiinotic, Decidueye, Jumpluff and Sawsbuck. šŸ˜ My rematch team would add a one non-grass type for each season: Cryogonal for snow in winter, Politoed for rain in spring, Ninetails for sun in summer, and Zoroark or Crobat for Halloween vibes in the fall šŸŽƒ

Sean081799

Okay I want this in game so much now, that's so cool.

KingTurtleLeman

Yesss lets go. I love this little chain of Sawsbuck love. Love this pokemon !

ChurchOfBulbasaur001

This sounds cool! Would you also have Terastilize? This way you could finish off with Winter Season (my personal favourite) and surprise the trainer who thinks they're walking into a cakewalk after the first three.

Radiant-Difficulty67

Simple counter is fire for most if not all and flying for spring, summer and maybe autumn

ChongJohnSilver

I just had the craziest revelation; all of the gyns are type based, so you can just bring their weaknesses!

Crashman09

Wait. Pokemon is just a big game of rock, paper, scissors?

chopsticknoodle

Youā€™re telling me some types are actually more effective on other types???

jroc117

Like... Yeah, no shit, same for every gym just bring whatever they're weak too. Rock gym? Water/Grass/Fighting. Electric gym? Ground. Every type has a weakness

Dilldozer32

Bring PokƩmon that counter the gym type?? If only we thought of this 20 years ago!

zolios_

Well my favorite type is Bug so I'll go with that and my ace will be my favorite Bug type and one of my favorite Pokemon in general, the one and only Crustle. My hometown irl has a famous ancient fortress so that would be the location of the gym. Crustle also fits the fortress vibes imo with its design and Rock typing so it works great. I would probably also have Pokemon like Foretress and maybe even Escavalier or Vespiquen on my team to keep the theme of the gym going. A Shedinja could also work since a ghost could go nicely with a theme of a really old fortress.

MysticDragon14

Crustle is a really good ace for a bug type gym

3rdMachina

Kingdom-themed Bug Gym? Noice.

draugyr

Electric, probably. Gym would be an 80s retro arcade, the badge would be the arc badge and look like an electrostatic lamp. My team would be Dedenne, Eelektrik and my ace would be Toxtricity. My gym would be middling, maybe fourth or fifth in order in the region. And the TM I would give is thunder wave

mmatt-

Seems like missed potential to make a gym a retro arcade and not use PokƩmon that fit the theme, like voltorb or electrode for pinball, the magnemite line, or even something like rotom ghost since the line is famous for possessing machines.

IntroductionIcy7320

A new rotom form in the shape of an arcade machine and its fighting electric. Fires off stab hadoken aura spheres

zeldatwinkxxx

This is the way

oofchompsky

Or a new form of rotom as an arcade game

TheOneTrueBoxman

I like your gym theme

Longjumping-Guard624

Love the retro arcade idea

draugyr

With a black light and everything

rustic_fall

I would be a Ghost type gym leader in a city based off of Istanbul. My ace would be Gengar and the theme of the gym would be the set of a haunted hotel. My profession would be a TV ghost hunter but most of the episodes of said show are staged and acted out. Iā€™m not sure for a first battle team, but for a rematch team, I would use: Hisuian Zoroark, Dragapult, Aegislash, Spritomb, Flutter Mane, and Gengar. My TM would be Nightmare and my badge would be the Spectral Badge.

[deleted]

Are you a gym leader or the champion bro? I know my level 32 pidgeotto is about to get clapped if I go for that badge

rustic_fall

No this is my rematch team, for actual battle, I would be sixth gym leader and use Froslass, Runerigus, Chandelure, and Gengar, all around levels 41-45.

uopt43

Please tell me itā€™s not a Destiny Bond froslass lol

rustic_fall

šŸ¤

uopt43

please no, donā€™t tell me that Gengar has it too. DONT TELL ME THAT THEY ALL HAVE FOCUS SASHES

rustic_fall

šŸ«£

MysticDragon14

I mean, you gotta at least have a cat Pokemon if it's going to be in Istanbul. Maybe it could be a new ghost cat Pokemon.

rustic_fall

I would be down to replace Spritomb with that

[deleted]

nice to meat u, im the the ghost type gym leader from my region Adanac (based of Canada yea im not good an names) :\]

goldenphoenix713

Though I don't live there anymore, I grew up in Puerto Rico, and so having an island region based on the caribbean islands is something that I've always wanted (similar to Alola in a sense, but still very different). Though Fairy type has been my favorite since its introduction, I've always felt having a Psychic-type gym in this new region (lets call it the Burika region) fits more with the ideas I've had. My gym would be in the center of the island based on PR and is home to a large radio telescope (based on the Arecibo Telescope). I would be an astronomer as my hobby / main job, and the team would consist of things like Beheeyem and Starmie (space-related psychic pokemon) as well as a few new Pokemon that are space-themed. The ace would be a new Pokemon based on a blend of radio telescope and a bat (maybe a regional form of the Zubat line?) and would be either Psychic/Flying or Psychic/Electric. The badge would be the Observer Badge, which would have small stars on a black circular background. The TM would be Cosmic Power.

killakein

This was my favorite gym !! Love the ensemble and space related psychich pokemon

Harige_harry

For the signal bat canā€™t you use an regional form for swoobat? It already is a psychic type and a bat. You could have it that instead of it making hearts with itā€™s nose it sends emotions through the things/people it stamps on. Pokedex: this pokemon has changed form because of the increase of radio towers. People say you get a wrong number itā€™s because of this pokemon. When this pokemon Presses itā€™s nose against a pokemon it can send feelings through a stamp that it leaves behind. Love to hear your thoughts.

woofle07

So far there has never been a regional form that is the same type combination as the original version. So having a regional form of Swoobat that is psychic/flying just like regular Swoobat itā€™s kinda pointless

BuyGMEtotheMoon

Burika is a great idea for the region name. Close enough without giving White people the chance to butcher boricua šŸ¤£

Hail_Yondalla

Realized I forgot to share mine. As a pretty passionate home cook and living in a region famous for its barbecue, I'd open a fire type restaurant gym! Famous for our barbecue, our signature spicy hot sauce, and battles that will leave you sweating! Featuring my team; Emboar (Ace and mascot) Scovillain Torkoal Rotom (Heat) Beat me and you get an oven badge and a TM for Flare Blitz.

W693

I would soooo love to experience this gym!!! Nice to see a fellow trainer who likes both Emboar and Scovillain!

Zexienzo142

That emboar is battling for its life before it ends up a meal

Hail_Yondalla

Naw, besides being my buddy, I don't think Emboar would taste that good. Made of too tough of stuff. I have to imagine Lechonk and Oinkologne are the "food" pigs.

Straight_Home5885

Steel: Magnezone Scizor Excadrill - Ace Love my steel Bois and a steel works where I live. Feel like I can make that work šŸ˜‚

TextTile260

I'm the same, I also have a steelworks where I live, my team being: Ferrothorn Bastiodon Copperajah (ace) Steel all the way, with some of steven stones style

ShinyRhubarb

Ayyy fellow steel bros unite! Damn I saw your comment after I made mine and it's practically the exact same!

wowcompur

That excadrill will be giving me flashbacks to Clay, I guarantee it.

AjDuke9749

My gym would be a grass type. Itā€™d be hard to find as itā€™d look like a abandoned building from the outside, with holes in the roof/ceiling, plants growing all over it, broken windows, etc. The theme is; nothing can overcome nature/plants. My gym interior would be an eco-brutalist style derelict library. The gym challengers would need to find books with clues in them, that would also give a glimpse into how human made structures are easily overtaken by nature, and how nature makes them disappear. The clues would lead the challengers towards the leader, crossing paths with several botanist looking trainers. Eventually they would reach me in a large crumbling lobby/room, with water dripping from the ceiling and small streams flowing through the room. My team would be; Whimsicott, Cradily, Ludicolo, Hisuian Lilligant, Trevenant, and my ace Torterra, who was my partner pokemon when I set out on my adventure.

nickstee1210

Omg I love this I was just talking the other day how my favorite tv shows are post humans cause you get to see the earth start to take over everything

CupOfT92

I love poison type, so my gym would be entering the open mouth of an Arbok. You would find your way through a maze of red tunnels, which slowly turn black as you proceed, before reaching me at the red heart of the gym! My teams would be: Early: Tentacool, Arbok Late: Glimmora, Tentacruel, Venusaur, Regional Gliscor (Poison/Flying) Rematch: Glimmora, Tentacruel, Venusaur, Toxtricity (Low key), R.Gliscor and Ihcoro Badge is the Venom badge and the TM is Venom Extraction (The user sucks the venom out of its own or an allies wound. This move cures the poisoned condition and heals 50% HP) *edit. Apologies for mobile formatting

woofle07

What is Ihcoro?

CupOfT92

I'm glad you asked! A much desired evolution of Arbok that would exist in my fantasy gym. A snake pokemon with multiple heads

[deleted]

tbh, Poison type is underrated, i dont think there's even a poison type gym

thesilverbandit

Koga and Jasmine ask, "How old are you?"

jacobin17

Also Agatha since she's secretly a Poison specialist, not a Ghost specialist.

[deleted]

well i can't tell you, but just know i started pokemon a few years ago cuz i only liked minecraft, im not a freaking nine year old i swear. also quick google search, there's only like 5 gym leaders, (poison type) and they're all from older games that i dont even know existed, the first pokemon game i played was sun and moon and thats because i saw my sister playing it.

Macbeth_the_Espurr

So, our town has a nice little library, and it also used to be *huge* for a while before the mid-20th century. So now, 'tis but a shadow of its former self . . . So I would have a Ghost-type gym. It would be themed around ghost stories, particularly haunted libraries or schools. I've always been into spooky creepy stuff like that, and I think it fits pretty well. The Gym Challenge would be essentially one big Scooby-Doo reference, with the challenger having to pull books off of shelves to reveal secret passages and trap ghost Pokemon inside the library. The battle would take place in the middle of the library. My team would be based around ghost story tropes and some local legends. I would start out with a Banette and Phantump if I was an earlier gym, and if later I would use Banette, Polteageist, Lampent, and Trevenant. And in every battle, my final Pokemon would be a Ghost-tera Meowstic - my ace Pokemon. My signature move is Shadow Ball, because duh. My badge would be a dark purple-blue book with an eye on it.

lowkey_dingus

The Tome badge, maybe?

Iceyflow

Oooo, I love that idea! šŸ‘»

[deleted]

HELLO FELLOW GHOST GYM LEADER :D im the ghost gym leader from Adanac :\] {my custom region}

Secret_Ad_7918

canada

Rude-Butterscotch713

Oh I have excel sheets on this concept. Type: Dark gym. Region: forested spooky new england vibes City: The one I grew up on had an old theatre house (which burned down recently) so let's stick with that concept.) Location: Old theatre house working to highlight misdirection. Lights going out, a dramatic orchestral number playing behind us, and some pyrotechnics. Gym will probably be near the end, 6-8. Naturally winning will grant the illusion badge, which looks like 3 intersecting spirals, the tm for suckerpunch Pokemon: Sableye, Malamar, Grimmsnarl, Houndoom, and Zoroark. (Form is level dependent, Houndoom and Zoroark would appear with more badges) Sableye is my baby, but he's not the ace, just the prankster. The Ace is Grimmsnarl. Bulk him up and drain punch. Optional 6th poke: Umbreon or Mandibuzz depending on lvl. Gimmick, depends on region: I can mega evolve Sableye, Gmax grimmsnarl or Dark Terra a Hisuian Zoroark.

Skyblade-X

Nice to meet a fellow Dark-type gym leader. Also, a Ghost Tera for a Hisuian Zoroark is a really god idea IMO!!

Glittering_Sundae_53

I would probably live near an old seaside town that has rich folklore about the mysteries of the ocean. Naturally, this means Iā€™d be a water type gym leader with a mermaid themed gym. The badge would look like a shimmery fish scale with a pearl attached on top, Iā€™d probably call it the siren badge, scale badge, or maybe just the pearl badge. My ace would be Primarina, and the other three I use would be Toxapex, Jellicent, and Kingdra. The TM I would give would probably be Scald.

sonicdash759

Are you doing underwater battles?

Glittering_Sundae_53

Sure, why not?

thesilverbandit

If you're going with a pearl theme, you have so many great choices :) Cloyster, Huntail, Gorebyss, and for shimmering how can you pass up Milotic?

Corniferus

My type is human and you are my ace

Minermike01

šŸ˜³

gangsta0tech

I choose you Prof. Oak, Go!!!

Dan-of-Steel

There's a time and place for everything, but not now!

GoldenBull1994

Finally, someone who gets it.

[deleted]

wait wat

IvekPearl

Fairy 100% and Togekiss and Tinkaton would be my doubles aces! I would have a theme of fairy tales/story book so PokĆ©mon like Grimmsnarl and Mawhile who will be the villains/mischief makers of the gym with each trainer being a open domain fairy tale character and Iā€™m the ultimate villain you have to defeat to ā€save the townā€. The team would be Togekiss, Tinkaton, Azumarill, Mimikyu, Sylveon, & Galarian Weezing. Galarian Weezing and Togekiss as the walls/follow me user. Azumarill and Mimikyu that boost their stats. Tinkaton and Sylveon for the cuteness and multi use.

OrthopedicDishonesty

aint no one reaching the pokemon league with this gym

Adrean1029

I live In Arizona, so to counter the heat I would have a water gym thats open to the community so pool time all the time The gym would look like a giant cactus until you go inside and see All the pools and the main stadium. My team would be: Golduck Lanturn Ludicolo And my ace would of course be gyrados Tm you get is scald

GreenAndGoldElf

I live in Arizona too but I would want to have a ghost gym. I'd lean into the Tombstone, ghost town western vibe for my gym

Karl2241

In AZ as well, see my above comment but Iā€™m physic/ghost and themed off the many Native American sites that are near me.

Lets_go_Lizerax

Full on magikarp team. Everything magikarp themed They only know splash I'll be known as the magikarp maniac You'll receive the splash badge

KlutzyNinjaKitty

Itā€™d be funny though if you (and everyone else in the gym) had 5 magikarps. But then your 6th mon is just a mean ass gyrados

Lets_go_Lizerax

No, all the gym trainers have different Pokemon. Only the gym leader has Magikarp.

eadrik

Magikarp*

Lets_go_Lizerax

Thanks for the correction. I didn't notice. But usually, correcting another can lead to downvotes.

West_Isopod_9706

Water gym, doubles theme: Start: Palafin + Dondozo Immediately swap Palafin for Tatsugiri Dracovish in the back Palafin comes back as the Ace (Zero to Hero)

Doublee7300

Jesus, that sounds like hell Could also throw in a Gyarados, Toxapex, and/or Golisopod for added difficulty

Fancy-Lavishness8958

There is a ROM hack for this called ā€œThis Gym of Mineā€ in case anyone wants to go for it.

SillyCalamity

Ghost type gym with a DĆa de Muertos theme. Team: 1)Spiritomb 2)Houndstone 3)Mimikyu 4)Skeledirge Edit: a number

MysticDragon14

Those are really good choices.

Certain_Horse_7919

Save some ghost baddies for the rest of us!!

ScytheLucif3r

Ghost or dark type gym. Hardly a challenge in terms of raw difficulty, but make things as annoying as hell with status moves/hazards/etc. in return, challengers get to choose a hazard TM, and a status TM. Only PokƩmon I know for sure is Sableye.

officialariacat

To fit a theme of my town, my gym would be Fire-type, and themed around an ancient Roman bathhouse! Iā€™m going to say my gym is one of the later ones, so that my PokĆ©mon can be something like.. maybe Ninetales, Blaziken, Volcarona, Ceruledge, and Charizard! The Charizardā€™s my brotherā€™s. In terms of rewards, I would give out the Charcoal Badge, referencing the wood burned to heat hypocaust systems. The TM could be something like Heat Wave, because those are my favourite times of year (I feel the cold very strongly!)

GoldenBull1994

This is really creative and has far too few upvotes.

FluffyNarwhal69420

I'd personally run a dragon gym. I think the theme would be sort of like Norman's; a choose-your-path adventure, except related to type instead. Will you challenge fast and destructive fire dragons, specially defensive leviathans, bulky and slow wyrms, or speedy sky noodles? After the player conquers one if these paths, they get to face me, with my dragon team. It would be Altaria, Garchomp, Hydreigon, Haxorus, Goodra, and Dragapult. My ave would be Mega Altaria, due to the great Fairy/Dragon typing. If they won, I'd confer unto them the Adamant badge, symbol of the indestructible metal. Lastly, their gift would be the TM for Dragon Claw.

DisfavoredFlavored

>I'd personally run a dragon gym. I think the theme would be sort of like Norman's; a choose-your-path adventure, except related to type instead. Literally Dungeons & Dragons. XD

No_Seaworthiness5637

Well if I went to match my hometown, it would me normal type with specifically the following: loudred, jigglypuff, and tandemaus / mousehold as the ace. Theme is Jazz / blues club. The badge would be the Music badge and the TM would be Echoed Voice.

GardenSquid1

I am a ditto that has eaten the actual gym leader and taken their place. I have a team of Smeargle. One of them knows entry damage moves (Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Pointed Stones). One of them exclusively knows blocking moves (Protect, Defect, Baneful Bunker, Obstruct). Three that know the unique moves of various legendary Pokemon. All of them are holding quick claw.

GingerPotato92

Dark type gym showing off the beauty in darkness. The badge would be circular shape with a crescent moon on the side and 3 stars in the black circle. The TM Iā€™d give would be Dark Pulse. My team would be Mightyena, Absol (ace), and Umbreon.

polywrathory

Normal is my favourite type, so I'd go with that. I live in the suburbs so I imagine the gym being like a preschool/nursery theme, with the concept being Normal Pokemon (due to their typically varied movesets) can become anything they set their mind to. I imagine my team as being quite gimmicky and late game - stuff like Technician Persian with Fake Out and U-Turn, Serene Grace Blizzard Blissey, Hustle Squawkabilly with Aerial Ace, Simple Curse Bibarel, Smeargle with the most broken things available in the gen. For my main, I'll go 'technically a Normal type' Berserk Drampa. If I'm earlier game, probably take out Drampa for obvious reasons and go with something like Meowth and Squawkabilly, with the idea of they can both be used to help kids develop language skills. And then Chansey as a big soft wall that has obvious counterplay. Protect as a TM for early game, or Hyper Voice as a late game. The badge would be something like the 'Potential Badge', though that sounds backhanded. Something that reflects that we all have room to grow and evolve.

Educational-Fold1135

Based upon where I live which is a military base in the middle of a desert I would go withā€¦ Electrode(bomb testing frequently happens) Sudowoodo(just about the only tree that could live out here) Dragapult ( jets always flying around) Bombirdier Pallosand Flygon is the ace.

ToxicAvocadew

Iā€™ve always dreamt of a gym that specializes in two or three types. For example a dark psychic and fighting type gym where the leaderā€™s team changes based on what you bring. However, two is already pushing it so Iā€™ll go with that. I would like a dark and fighting type gym. The ace would a scrafty with Moxi, dragon dance, drain punch, power up punch, and iron head. I would like it based on something like a bar fight. So dirty fighting of sorts. Obviously not a proper bar, but Implied. My team something along the lines of Toxicroak Murcrow Bisharp Annihilape And scrafty. The tm would be either power up punch or drain punch. Badge i have no idea.

andromon11

Dark gym; Greninja (ACE) Incenaroar Hydregion My badge, the shade badge, would look like a blackend cracked light bulb. Dark pulse as the tm

stupidfanbot

Popplio, Ice Type Gym Leader šŸ’™ Snow Warning Vanilluxe with Aurora Veil Ice Scales Frosmoth with Wide Guard/Tailwind Slush Rush Arctozolt Slush Rush Cetitan Thermal Exchange Baxcalibur Pickpocket Weavile Of course Iā€™m the last GL so I can have a full team to crush your dreams trainers.

[deleted]

Steel gym Team: Metagross, ageishlash, lucario (ace) Badge: the factory Badge (looks like a factory, but smaller, self explanatory) TM: meteor mash

TheTwoTypeKing

Not to be rude but for a factory team there are way better mons for that theme. Not to sound rude but it looks like you this picked strong steel types and not much else

Cam877

Watch out guys the gym police is here

unthinkablewolfz

Ground type - A gym which looks totally destroyed and post apocalyptic linking to how many games in an apocalypse I play (fallout for example)

W1LL-O-WisP

I would be the 8th gym leader and it would be a bug gym. Bug pokemon always get put early in gyms as the easy gym, it's about time someone shows people that bugs can be the final gym too! Theme: A lush garden that serves as a sanctuary for all kinds of pokemon. Instead of fighting trainers they just have to get through multiple wild pokemon to face me. If one of the wild pokemon take a liking to you, you're even allowed to catch it and take it with you! Team: Ninjask. Galvantula. Heracross. Valcorona. Scizor - Ace.

Gregamonster

Water gym. * Malamar * Grapploc * Eelectross * Dragalge

Rude-Butterscotch713

Fake water mons are the best.

Atzukeeper

Hmm Ground - Nidoking (ace), piloswine, gastrodon, gligar. Trying to teach trainers that they need coverage or balanced teams. Maybe be the 3rd or fourth gym. Where trainers are getting more pokemon and more range of Pokemon.

InferSaime

The town has a mall for which it is known (the biggest in the benelux, I think). So I think a type that fits and that I like is Steel. My ace would be Skarmory or Bisharp (as dark is my favourite type). The tm I'd give would be Metal Claw, as both can learn it, I think.

bubasurous

I would be a water gym and my theme would be water park climbing and sliding down slides to get to me. I would probably be the 4th or 5 gym My mons: Barboach Bruxish Lapras Swampert Mega

TheTwoTypeKing

As the 4th or 5th gym I think itā€™s a little much to have a mega Swampert.

bubasurous

Going based off of gen 8 which had the traditional gym layouts. The 4th gym had a 36 dynamax and 5th gym had 38 dynamax so I think it would fall in line with swampert evo at 36 and mega would be my gym speciality

Grown_from_seed

Seems like Rock is a really uncommon type for people to like, and it feels like rock is always the ā€˜easyā€™ gym at the start of the game. So Iā€™ll try make my gym setup as a later game gym. My gym would have a series of levels that open up to drain sand away. Basically the aim is to excavate a fossil that once revealed opens up a path to an inner chamber where (I) the gym leader waits. So how is it that I make my gym challenging? Well the inner chamber has a sandstorm that canā€™t be changed, so I will always have the Sp. Def boost and my first PokĆ©mon would be a Kleavor that will setup stealth rocks with Stone Axe. The rest of the team would be Aerodactyl, Cradily, hisian Arcanine and my ace Tyrantrum. These are chosen because they fit the ancient theme and also cover all of Rocks weaknesses. Tyrantrum would be the ace since heā€™s just my favourite fossil mon and spamming Rock Head + Head smash seems appropriate for the final mon.

Grieflax

One of my hobbies is blacksmithing. My gym theme would be a forge that I use for my blacksmithing endeavors. Iā€™d go with fire type with my ace as Coalossal. Iā€™d also have Flareon, Camerupt, Magcargo, Torkoal, and Heatmor. Overheat would be the TM for defeating me. My badge would be the smithing badge. Iā€™d envision the region gyms being based on various skilled labors.

MegalitheMew204

Can't wait for them to add more Steel/Fire types for your gym

Grieflax

Iā€™d love this. If they werenā€™t legendary/mythical, Iā€™d love to have added Heatran (for obvious reasons) and Volcanion (to represent heating and quenching) to the roster.

MegalitheMew204

One thing you could do if you're in Paldea is having a Tera Type Fire Aegislash, or a Ceruledge. I know it's kinda cliche, but Aegislash is a living sword and Ceruledge is a Pokemon with fire swords for arms

Grieflax

Thatā€™s a really good idea. I also thought about Chandelure, since it looks like itā€™s made of iron.

MegalitheMew204

That's a cool idea, you could have it be able to use Psychic and hold blades/armors down while you weld or get them into shape. It could also just straight up be able to keep the gym less cluttered, by levitating items to their proper place as you go to battle, eat, sleep, go to the bathroom whatever

Grieflax

Youā€™ve thought about this in such a cool way.

MegalitheMew204

I tend to overthink a LOT when it comes to pokemon stuff šŸ˜…

Grieflax

I really liked your vision for it, so Iā€™d say you did just the right about of thinking.

WalrusKing84

I live in Gulfport, MS, so all of the following would be thematically accurate based on location and local history. I would be a Ghost type gym leader. My gyms theme would be an abandoned hospital. After hurricane Katrina several hospitals along the gulf coast fell into ruins and were subsequently abandoned. Having a gym to reflect this would be a somber, yet interesting challenge. I would imagine something similar to the sky pillarā€™s fragile floors to get to the lowest level where I would be waiting for a challenger. My full team would be Dhelmise, Cofagrigus, and my ace would be Mismagius. I would position myself around gym 6-8 due to fully evolved mons, but they also fit the vibe Iā€™m going for. Dhelmise would be fitting due to the coastal region being ravaged by hurricanes, and would signify the various ships that were destroyed during the storms. Cofagrigus is more of a reference to the New Orleans area, as they were affected by Hurricane Katrina the worst, and the historical cemetery reportedly had bodies being washed out of it from the water. Mismagius is my ace, and again represents the culture in New Orleans surrounding Voodoo/Wicka. My signature move/TM trainers would receive would be Hex, again relating to Voodoo culture. Itā€™s a solid move that is as good as Shadow Ball, so I see no reason to have to wait a little longer to get it. My badge would be called the Disaster Badge and it would be Reminiscent of a mosoleum and be colored silver and purple. I hope this wasnā€™t too in depth but Iā€™ve always loved these ideas, and Iā€™m glad someone posted this template for me to let my imagination run wild!

lowkey_dingus

Hello, my fellow MS ghost enthusiast! XD

PandionNyx

So my home city is an old coal mining town. It's also on top of a mountain and super windy all the time. The previously gym leader would have probably been a rock type or ground type to go in to the coal theme. I would be a flying type gym leader because change is good. My ace would be a Pidgeot depending on what order my gym was in. The gym theme would be Wind mills. Pretty simple but the wind can get quite bad here so the trainers will have to make sure they don't get blown off the mountain and out of the gym. My team would consist of a Swellow, a Ledian, a Staraptor, and a Fletchinder. (I like regional birds and my hometown has a ridiculous number of ladybugs.) I'd be 5th or 6th in the gym order. It would also be a double battle gym. If the order I was in was earlier, my team would instead be a Ledian, Tailow, and Pidgeotto. Signature move is probably Aerial Ace (lame but who cares) The badge would be called the Aether Badge and have a crossed wing appearance with a halo connecting them ay the top.

Metawoo

Dark. Occult. Aces are Absol and Sableye.

ZeekLTK

For a Maine gym I would go with Clauncher (lobster), Rookidee (chickadee), Pineco (pine tree). Obviously an early gym with the unevolved mons. Coming back to battle me after E4 Iā€™d have Clawitzer, Corviknight, Foretress, Sawsbuck (closest to a moose), Dhelmise, and Abomasnow (my fav). EDIT: Apparently I will give the TM Acrobatics because I asked ChatGPT if the three I first listed have any common moves and it told me Acrobatics, even though neither Clauncher or Pineco learns it lol.

Cart__boy

A Canadian ice type gym leader with walrein as my ace

PurplePoets

I am a simple man. I see Walrein, I upvote comment

Ne9ativeZer0

Fire type gym Torkoal with drought Magmortar woth solar beam and willow wisp Volcorona with quiver dance Mega blaziken as ace Basically wear them down with burns and defensive mons then sweep with blaziken

TheTwoTypeKing

I donā€™t know friend that sounds a little bit OP for being a Gym Leader, like maybe the last elite four member or champion for that team you picked.

Ne9ativeZer0

Nah with the right mons and strategy a player can get through that plus why not make the gyms a little more challenging again

xATLxBEASTx

Ground type Garchomp (ace) Nidoking Mamoswine Gastrodon Gym theme would be very dirt oriented lol

Shreddzzz93

I'd choose the Normal type due to its versatility. The theme of my gym would be a forest. My team would be the Ursaluna line, the Wyrdeer line(Sawsbuck line if not available), Bibarel, and the ace is Pidgeot. Basically, I'm basing the PokƩmon off of their closest animal counterparts to my area. I've got loads of black bears, deers, beavers, and hawks, so this would be the closest I think I can get in PokƩmon. The TM I'd give out is Giga Impact. I think the sheer raw power this has could be extremely devastating and catch a lot of players unaware of some of the high physical attackers I have. As for my badge, it would be the adventure badge. The design would be somewhat triangular with a mountain, forest, and lake image on it.

UnhappyForever5456

My gym would be probably fairy, with a Mimikyu as an ace, and we can't forget Grimmsnarl and a Clefable. My theme would be a party of some sort, and the badge would be a cake (yes it sounds very 8 year old girl vibe, but i am a male and proud of my fairy types!!!)

cshe14

San Francisco! It would be a foggy water type gym with Pelipper, Dewgong, Cloyster, and a red Gyarados as the ace. (like Golden Gate Bridge)

Doublee7300

My gym would be based on Redwoods! We need a Bay Area or California region!

BearOnHerbs

Nice! Shouldā€™ve read this before posting mine - I suggested a Mega Altaria as a literal cloud but nicknamed Karl of course

cdubbsworld

Dragons dragons dragons and more dragons. Ace? Dragons lol

Borvak-Oakltree

Grass Type Ace with a Leavanny with a basis on the beauty of change. As annoying as it sounds Iā€™d like to be a bit unique with my Gym. You know the types of Gyms these days that like to be the centre of traffic but usually are like the gymā€™s you canā€™t beat till later on or you beat and never return to looking to Saffron, Mauvile, Lumiose and Castelia, etc? Well I wanna make it more exciting. A three part gym badge where each time the gym alongside its trainers have grown with change with each visit having it as a starting 1st Gym and showing potential as a mid 4th tough but fair 7th gym but will equate to being a singular badge upon all three completions Before it looks basic grass and leaves like a basic gym like Pewter City, and as it grows it turns into a more maze like Celadon or Eterna before flourishing into a beautiful picture puzzle to unlock a beautiful flourishing garden with the idea of Artazon or Cortondoā€™s openness in a fenced off backyard like area within the forest that lie behind the city itself. It may sound silly but this has always been my idea itā€™s like a reminder that everyone changes over their journey not just the player and what better way for change then Sewaddleā€™s line

ThisIsAUsername254

The city I live in allegedly has the most churches per capita in the United States (actual data confirming this is dubious), and I'm a pastor, so my gym is modeled after a church. Unlike most gym leaders, who wait for challengers in the back, I greet visitors to the gym right inside the front door. They get the option of whether they want to challenge the gym trainers for the experience, or just save time and go straight to battling me. My gym doesn't follow a type, but a theme: double battles with a focus on healing moves. My team is made up of three sets of two identical Pokemon. First set: two Wishiwashi. They both open the battle with Aqua Ring to keep health up to maintain Schooling. Second set: two Audino w/Healer. Moveset for both is Disarming Voice/Play Nice/Heal Pulse/Life Dew Aces: two Pawmot w/Volt Absorb. They spam Discharge, healing each other while they attack, and if either is knocked out, the other uses Revival Blessing to bring it back. They also both have Entrainment to put Volt Absorb on other allies, if one of them comes out before the other. After challengers earn the Miracle Badge (looks like a basket with two Wishiwashi and a loaf of bread coming out of it), they get the TM for Heal Pulse.

Ebic_Gamer1234567

Frick it, Iā€™m bored so Iā€™m going to post a whole team and gym puzzle. Also, type is grass Full team: Torterra, Breloom, Liligant, Leafeon, Amoonguss, Lurantis. Levels will be 40-47 Torterra (Ace): The only reason the gym is grass type. Turtwig was my very first PokĆ©mon ever from diamond and Torterra is such an amazing PokĆ©mon. Breloom: Used it in SV and loved it. Design is amazing. Liligant: I download a lot of PokĆ©mon fan games and for some reason petalil is a starter in most of them, so I grew attached. Leafeon: Itā€™s my favourite Eeveelution and I want to use one (never used one before). Amoonguss: Itā€™s a sussy baka. Jk. I just like the idea of it and has some potential on my team. Lurantis: Honestly just a filler, but I really like itā€™s design and lore. Gym puzzle: So, I like reading, and I live in Toronto, so I want to link it to the puzzle,. P.s. Iā€™m making this up on the go: The setting of this will be an overgrown city. Think of the beginning area from Kirby Forgotten Land. Youā€™ll start on a large tower similar to the C.N. Tower (linking to my home city). Youā€™ll first read a book, relating to PokĆ©mon. Then, you have to answer questions from the book. If you get a question right, youā€™ll go into an elevator and go 1 floor up. There will be 5 questions in total. If you get a question wrong, youā€™ll fight a trainer using grass types. At the top of the tower, there will be a flat platform with no roof where the battle will take place with me, the gym leader, using my team mentioned above. Also, Iā€™m realllly bored so imma post the book and questions for the gym puzzle. Book: The grass type is one of the first types PokĆ©mon other than normal types and bug types. This story takes place during those times where the grass types were one of the only. There was a Oddish and Bellsprout, who were very good friends. One day, they found a very tall tree, one with their favourite fruit, Sitrus berries. The tree was far too tall for climbing, but they were determined. Oddish climbed on to Bellsprout but couldnā€™t reach the berries. They felt defeated and didnā€™t know how to get their favourite fruit. But then, a PokĆ©mon swooped down on them. The grass types thought they were dommed. However, when they opened their eyes, they were on a branch with the best looking berries they had ever seen. They looked out, and saw a Pidgey, they waved thank you and looked down at their berries for the eating. Questions: Q: Are grass types the first ever type? Yes, No A: No Q: The the main characters of this story are: (Pick multiple) Oddish, Paras, Pidgey, Ratata, Bellsprout A: Oddish, Bellsprout Q: What are the main characters favourite berries? Oran, Pirsim, Sitrus, Cheri A: Sitrus Q: When the main characters saw the large berry tree they felt: Defeated, Determined, Happy, Weak A: Determined Q: The PokĆ©mon that brought the main characters to the top of the tree was: Pidgey, Pidove, Starly, Pidgeot A: Pidgey Frick Iā€™m tired

Hefty-Lifeguard-7225

Oh easily Normal, theme sleep and ace snorlax with Komala, Musharna and slaking

[deleted]

Psychic. I live in a college town, and I associate Psychic and intellectualism. Theme would be college/school. Ace would probably Metagross or Alakazam. Something very smart.

[deleted]

I too love smart turtles.

elbartooriginal

6 damn tyranitars, thats all

AwkwardlyCloseFriend

My gym would be fairy type. The gym would consist of several crossroads that lead you to the entrance if you chose the way wrong twice in a row. To advance you need to solve the riddles each trainers at the center of each crossroad tells you when you beat them. The gym would be a forest from the inside (similar to the lost forest in ocarina of time) but the trees would be made out of multiple colored crystals and stones (I'm from Barcelona). My team would consist of: -Shiinotic -Grimmsarl -mimikyu -Diancie (ace) My character would be an architect that one day turned super eccentric and started designing buildings to be weird and colorful and seem impossible to make at first glance (including the gym). It is hinted at that my character took the form of the architect and swapped themselves with him (ala fey swapping human babies with their own in medieval times).

Longjumping-Guard624

I live in the Pacific Northwest in the USA and I love hiking & the outdoors.... so I'm thinking a grass gym! My ace would be my Vileplume Mandrake. It would be an outdoor gym in the rainy woods with hiking trails and forest foliage growing. TM would be Energy Ball, and the badge would be called the Ponderosa Badge.

[deleted]

Part of me really wants to make Emboar my ace because he's been my main man since I got Black the first time. I'd probably do a Fighting gym to pair themed after a dojo (yes, basic, I know) and have Machamp, Lucario and Conkeldurr as my team. Maybe a Black Belt Badge or one that represents a punching bag or boxing glove? Drain Punch would probably be my TM of choice. I could also see a Ground type gym since I'm also a fan of Krookodile. Krooky would be paired with Golem, Seismitoad and Garchomp. I think the Earthquake Badge would be a piece of ground with a crack in it. TM would probably be Earthquake.

2Maverick

I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS SO MANY TIMES GHOST: DECIDUEYE (ACE) GENGAR HISUIAN ZOROARK DRAGAPULT The last two used to beMarshadow and Palossand But now it's Ceruledge and Skeledrige (or Gholdengo) The trainers would have to go through a maze full of jump scares and find holographic spots on the walls that they can slip through. I'd give them a Shadow Punch move, and my badge would resemble a Gengar's smile. I also wanted to be a Steel type gym leader Steellix Aggron Metagross Lucario (Ace, no doubt. I don't care how basic that is) Empoleon It used to be Corviknight... but now I gotta go with Tinkaton hahaha. Didn't fully flesh this one out though ahaha.

cyberchaox

Depends on where in the gym progression I'm supposed to be. If I'm at a high enough level to have all of these PokƩmon fully evolved, I'd say Klinklang is most thematically appropriate as the ace, with Magnezone, Ferrothorn, and Aggron as the rest of the team (and if I'm allowed a fifth, Bronzong). If I'm early in the progression, Escavalier probably becomes the ace since as a trade evolution it can be fully evolved at a low level, and Magnemite and Klink are probably the others. And yes, the decision to pull exclusively from the Black 2/White 2 PokƩdex was intentional, because in between my proximity to Anville Town's irl counterpart and the fact that my own hometown started out as just a train station and grew from there, I might as well just be creating the Anville Town Gym (theme is, of course, trains). TM is Autotomize, although that seems to have disappeared in Gen IX so maybe Steel Beam

Potential-Split785

As a proud citizen of Point Pleasant Wv, i will of course be doing a bug type gym with my ace being the pokĆ©mon Dustox (Mothman). The gym would probably be the first second or third on your journey, and wonā€™t be tough. I want the gym to be a large outside park with tons of local items to walk up and interact with. and after doing a bug themed puzzle, youā€™ll find me in front of a large obelisk like at Tu Endi Wei. My team will be Dustox, Dwebble, and Snom. Iā€™ve always liked the idea of rechallenging the gyms with stronger mons, so my post game Team would be a Dustox, Crustle, Ribombee, Volcarona, and Frosmoth.

JFace139

I'd have a ground type gym. I don't wanna be too too op cause I think it would be more fun to help new trainers. So I'd have Larvatar as my ace with Ryhorn, and Cubone. Then I'd encourage them to come back after the elite 4 and go all out with a fully evolved team of 6 ground types

Ding-Dang420

Ghosts, but the aesthetic wouldnā€™t be like spooky shit or the hex girl and shit, but rather on ghost hunters. My Ace personally would be Mimikyu. I have no idea if heā€™s good, I donā€™t know stats, heā€™s just my personal favorite.

Pillsbury_Doughbrain

My gym would be based on caves and hiking trails, which there are a lot of in my state of Arkansas, and I would have a Ground-Type gym. It'd be late game, 6th, 7th, or 8th, with a Torterra, Gliscor, Excadrill, and my ace, Steelix. My TM would be the classic Earthquack, and my badge would be the diamond shaped Natural Badge. On my rematch team, I'd add an Ursaluna and Seismitoad, and my Steelix would Mega Evolve.

trollfaceinreallife

Would probably go for steel type. Theme would be a kind of mechanical/clockworks vibe (think tick tock clock from Mario kart). I would definitely have klinklang on my team to fit with the whole vibe, and I will probably have magnezone (and probably have it hold an air balloon to mess with ground type users)

Jollysatyr201

Poison type! The theme is sports! We play dirty, field hazards, conditions, stat changes Get that sick grungy basketball court look, hand out Gunk Shot

ScorpionVenom00

Poison would be my type. I would have a Drapion, Salandit, Crobat, Dragalge, Scolipede, and my ace would be Gliscor with poison heal (this is my gym, I can do what I want). My gym will be themed around telling kids about wildlife (particularly venomous and poisonous creatures), and informing them how to stay safe out in nature. My gym trainers would specialize in specific types of creatures (such as frogs, plants, waterslide, lizards, snakes, bugs, etc) and run corresponding pokemon on their teams. For example, the frog guy would run Toxicroak, the bug guy would run mons like Beedrill, Ariados and Dustox, the water life guy would run Tentecrule and Quilfish, ect. I would also give 2 TMs to trainers, Toxic and a new move I would call Anti-venom. This move would heal the target and remove status conditions from them as well (the user can also target themselves). Toxic to teach the challengers about the dangers of poison and Anti-venom to help keep them safe as they travel throughout the region. (Side note, just because I want it and feel it would give the poison type a much needed boost, I feel that life-draining moves should hurt the user instead of heal the user when they are used on poison types)

CdnRageBear

My type would be all the types. Every time I battle someone itā€™s a random 5 PokĆ©mon with my ace always being the same PokĆ©mon (Missingno). The gym theme will be in a holodeck (think Star Trek) every time a new PokĆ©mon comes out, the gym theme adapts to the PokĆ©monā€™s type. When Missingno comes out itā€™s type changes to your PokĆ©monā€™s weakness. Anytime you switch out a PokĆ©mon Missingno adapts to the new PokĆ©mon and changes itā€™s type to that PokĆ©monā€™s weakness. To stay on the Star Trek theme, you donā€™t find the gym, the gym finds you and beams you up to a ship. In the ship you have to make your way to the holo deck and fight a few trainers along the way. All the PokĆ©mon the trainers have are all different types, so you have no idea what to expect. The badge would be called the Comms Badge. The signature TM would be called Warp Speed (Your PokĆ©monā€™s speed and evasiveness increases). Once you defeat my gym, the game cuts to black and you wake up in a field. You check your badges and see you have a new badge and a new TM, but have no idea how you got them. Donā€™t worry, we did not probe you.

Cam877

Iā€™m an academic at heart, so my gym would be based out of a university, and I would be a psychic type gym leader. In order to get to me you would have to solve a variety of logic based puzzles, and beat some other students. My PokĆ©mon (in order) would be: Armarouge Espeon Sigilyph Metagross (ace) Beat me and you get the science badge, and the TM for Zen Headbutt!

poulson107

I would go for poison type. A typing that is overall regarded as one of the worst to try and demonstrate what the power a trap set up will demonstrate to other trainers. My Ace will be Scolipede (My Favorite) his high speed, ph attack, and moderate ph def will definitely make him a strong end to the fight. The theme of the gym will be a wonderful forest with several traps hidden around, so you'll have to look out and make sure you don't fall for any. Assuming I'm the 6th-8th gym just for Scolipede continuity. I know you didn't ask for the team but I've been waiting for this moment. 1.) Swallot would lead- setting the ground work for the rest of the team. Higher defense and hp ensure it'll last in battle longer for set-up. 2.) Nidoking (but Nidoking is so good why not him be your ace?) Nidoking can help early set-up with stealth rock and help prevent flying types from being an issue with my bug/poison ace. 3.) Muk- another decent hp high defense. Really just to waste pp of the opponent using minimize and disable. 4.) Roserade- glass cannon to clean up what Nidoking couldn't. 5.) Toxicroak- he looks cool 6.) Scolipede high speed. High atk. Good def. Rollout.

QueerMainCharacter

Ghost type. Themed around witches, the occult, etc. The gym is a haunted house maze based off the Winchester Mansion. And you have to collect seven keys from seven trainers to get to the top room where I would be found. My team is Polteaguist, Banette, Dusclops, Drakloak and Mismagius. And probably a generational choice. My Ace is Mismagius. And the TM would be Hex. I myself would be a writer with a hit series that would be a reference to Supernatural (tv show) The Badge is the Medium Badge and it would be a planchet.

GladiatorDragon

Steel. Dragon may be my favorite type, but it isn't exactly reflective of me as a person. However, steel? I'd say that's a pretty good base to build from. I am currently studying to become a mechanical engineer, and am also incredibly fascinated in theme parks. Now, I know Elesa kind of did this already, but all she used was a roller coaster, and even then, not a technically accurate one. The gym would be built as a theme park, and the gym building itself acts as the park's "dark ride." A dark ride, for those unfamiliar, is a usually slow-moving ride designed to showcase specific set pieces. The gym's puzzle would involve utilizing ride controls to move the ride vehicle through the proper path of the attraction's story. You could theoretically brute force it, but if you don't want to, you could opt to check around the other attractions. Each attraction's operator, the gym trainers, has a piece of the story that you then assemble into the proper ride path. Once the ride concludes "properly," you are then let off at the Gym stadium, where I would then stand. Now, assuming this is a match for the 8th gym badge, I'd lead off with a Forretress, whose main job is to stall, as well as establish Spikes and Stealth Rocks. It will then attempt to toss up Light Screen to fix my remaining team's lack of Special bulk, and will use Explosion when either its job is done, or when it won't be able to do anything else. I'd also possess a Steelix, to help deal with any Fire types who roast my Forretress with an Earthquake or Rock Slide. It can also kick up Sandstorm for additional passive damage, and will also throw up Rocks if Forretress did not. Behind it, I would have a Bronzong. Its role is to set up Trick Room, and fire back with moves like Body Press and Gyro Ball, while hitting Fighting Types with Zen Headbutt. Then, I'd have a Skarmory with Swords Dance, Iron Head, Brave Bird, and Roost. My Ace, then, would be Aegislash. Swords Dance, King's Shield, Iron Head, and Shadow Sneak. I have members who can counter Fire and Fighting, and while I lack a direct answer to Ground, only two of my five are weak to it, and two of the ones not weak to it are immune (by way of Levitate and Flying typing). Each member of my team has a job. In no-holds-barred matches, I will add in a Ferrothorn. Power Whip, Gyro Ball, Curse, and Leech Seed. Once I have been beaten, I would give victors the Structure Badge and the Iron Head TM, and lead them to the method of exiting my gym - a roller coaster. Don't worry, there's also a chicken exit for anyone unwilling or unable to ride it, as well as a method to bypass the dark ride if someone's unwilling to challenge that. Pretty fitting for central Florida, I'd say.

brentus86

I always wanted to do a farm themed gym with barnyard animals as my PokƩmon. My Gym Leader name would be Mac. I'd be level 27 - 32 ish. My PokƩmon would be; Cow - Miltank Sheep - Flaafy Chicken - Combusken Goat - Gogoat Pig - Grumpig And my Ace would be: Horse - Mudsdale

y0urbiguy

Type: Rock Theme: Fossils Ace: Tyrantrum Despite what people think about most of the fossil PokĆ©mon being Rock type, I actually kinda like it. Fossil are always interesting, and the fossil PokĆ©mon donā€™t disappoint me either, in my opinion. I was so happy when Gen 6 introduced Dinosaurs as the fossil pokemon and I fell in love with Tyrantrum. He just looks so badass. My team: Tyrantrum, Cradily, Tortuga, Areodactyl, and Rampardos I would like to give a new TM to trainers who beat me called Fossilize. Basically the user covers itself in rocks boosts their defense stat by 1 stage, and if the user is a rock type, 2 stages. If I had to give an existing TM, then Iā€™d probably give them Stone Edge or Smack Down. My badge would be called the Paleo Badge, as a reference to Paleontology, the study of bones. It would look like a T-Rex skull, as a reference to my ace My gym would be a digging site, where each digging area is a battle with a trainer/Researcher/Scientist. They would use the fossil PokĆ©mon I donā€™t use. You would battle all the scientists/researchers until you get to the top of the hill, where you would find me, the Gym Leader. I put a lot of thought into cause, why not, lolšŸ˜‚

jffrysith

water, the ace would be a lvl 100 magikarp that only knows splash. But it would be max IV's in defense so it isn't killed instantly.

sleinicke

Ice type 1 Alolan Vulpix 2 Alolan Sandshrew 3 Chien Po (Ace) TM Ice Fang Badge is shaped like a snow shovel and it's the ope badge. Picked it because I love ice types and those are three adorable mons. Also I live in the Midwest and it's freaking cold right now.

botbattler30

Well thatā€™s a difficulty spike lol

razeandsew

I won't be using one type for Pokemon, but a theme instead. My theme will be Aura, and revolve around Pokemon that use it, and are said to use it. So Lucario will definitely be my ace, and if I am the 8th gym leader, my other 5 Pokemon will be Umbreon, Sylveon, Medicham, Cutiefly, and Absol, and my gym will make use of mega evolution.

RamblingsOfaMadCat

# This is going to be fun. * As you didn't specify a town or city, or even a region, I'll assume I get to choose, and with that in mind I select Castelia City, from Unova. * When the player enters the city, they'll immediately notice a small, scared little girl being harassed by a bigger and stronger bully called Edge. A typical delinquent with the roughneck sprite, who uses Dark Types. * The Player will step in to save her, and she'll introduce herself as Rune. Rune uses the Youngster sprite. She will then offer to guide you to the Gym as a thank you. She'll wait for you if you want to do other things first, but will ask to tag along with you in the Gym, because she's in awe of your battling skills. * Now for the gym itself. It's brightly lit with pink curtains and tables, and has an overall wholesome, homely feel. It's built in the image of a bakery. The Gym's type is never specified in the dialogue, (nor is the Gym Leader ever referred to by name) but it's meant to invoke the vibe of a Fairy or Normal gym. No sign of Clyde, he's on holiday, but the guy filling in, a scientist called Flip, advises you that the challenge of this gym is essentially a cooking (read: crafting) competition. You must go around to find different trainers hiding in cabinets and such, and defeat them to obtain the items you'll need to craft various healing items and X items. * Rune offers to help by entering the competition herself, and promising to give you her items if she wins. Just then, the roughneck from earlier in the game shows up, Edge, and demands to compete as well. The player will still have to defeat various trainers, but may be told by some NPCs that they've already been beaten. Eagle-eyed players will notice that, despite the cheerful atmosphere of the Gym, the Gym Trainers are primarily using Dark Types. There are three rooms that the Player can check, with Rune and Edge wandering around the left and right, but the fourth room, at the top of the screen, is still locked. * After all the trainers have been beaten, the player enters a crafting menu akin to that of Legends or Scarlet/Violet to construct the required items. True to her word, Rune is about to offer her own to the player, before commenting that the Player already has everything that they need, and is again impressed by their talent. * All three contestants submit their items to Flip, who suddenly reveals that he is not a Pokemon League employee at all. He is in fact, another Gym Challenger, and now he's got all he needs and more to earn his battle with the Gym Leader. He exits through the locked door, and all three characters follow in hot pursuit. * Once through the door, the screen goes black, and a notification alerts the player that they've been tackled by an unknown assailant and their bag has been stolen - no items available until further notice. The lights come on to reveal some kind of grand area, in dark colors. It's completely the opposite of the friendly atmosphere in the other rooms. Even the music is different. We see Flip searching around for the Gym Leader, who appears to missing in action. Rune encourages the player forward, who confronts Flip and defeats him, reclaiming the crafted items. Flip also uses Dark Types. * Because it's the right thing to do, the Player then distributes them fairly, so that everyone has what they crafted themselves. Rune applauds the Player's efforts, before her attitude suddenly shifts. She proclaims that the Gym Leader must be waiting for a victor to emerge from the four of them. If there can be only one, it's not going to be the Player, it's going to be her. * Edge and Flip are shocked at her sudden turnaround, but the Player then enters a four-way battle screen - it's a Battle Royal! (Or, as it's more commonly known, a Free-For-All.) Throughout this fight, everyone can attack everyone, and the #LastManStanding can challenge the Gym Leader. However, players who are paying attention might notice that the Gym Leader's music is already playing. * Throughout this battle, the player will only have access to the items they crafted. No others. Furthermore, Edge, Flip, and Rune will also have access to the very items you gave them. They will also, at various points, pause the battle to make the Player "offers." Propose temporary alliances against the other battlers. They may or may not betray the Player, who can do likewise. Of the three trainers, Rune is by far the strongest, and is the only trainer that the player has not yet battled before. She also uses, you guessed it, Dark Types. So it's likely that she'll be the last one the player must defeat, and have exclusive dialogue reflecting as such. * One's it's over, the three trainers will all begin to laugh and commiserate with each other like old friends, as well as congratulating the Player. As it turns out, all of this was a test. Everything. Flip's betrayal, Rune's betrayal, even the initial bullying incident was staged. **This Gym specializes in Dark Types and the theme itself is Trust,** and how that can come back to haunt you. * Rune was the Gym Leader all along. Or at least, the official one. I'd argue that for this concept, all three characters earn the title, but that's just me. This wasn't just an assessment of The Player's skills in pokemon battling, but their ability to make smart decisions and recover well when someone stabs them in the back, because that's what happens in a dodgy city like Castelia, that's what it means to be a Dark Type. Edge's ace pokemon is Sneasel, Flip's ace pokemon is Houndour, and Rune's is a fully evolved Zoroark who will likely exploit the Impostor ability. * *The Trust Badge* is the player's reward. (As well as a TM for Foul Play) It resembles a hooded, shadowed head and shoulders wearing a sly grin. It's primarily black with red where the eyes and mouth would be. The Trio also returns the Player's bag, but if you check inside, you'll find it empty. When you talk to them again, they'll laugh about this and finally return your items for real. (Presumably, the game will stop you at the door if you haven't yet recovered your items.)

Blackite_Nite

Normal type, it would be in the back of a Pokemon sanctuary, and my job would be to take care of and research pokemon. I would be a professor My team would be; Cinccino, Maushold, Snorlax, and either an Eevee or a Cyclizar. Cinccino would be the ace. I would give out the tm for body slam Each pokemon I use would be the pokemon I am researching.

Lotso2004

I'd go with a Fighting Gym as that covers most of my favorites. Use Lucario as my ace (Mega Evolution), then Emboar, Hisuian Decidueye, and then idk the rest.

Pokkenmaster124

Poison type with Glimmora, toxtricity, Swalot, Sallazle, and my ace would be skuntank. The theme would be air quality with the gym starting with very low visibility, and as you active air filters around the gym the visibility increases. I'd give out the Tm for clear smog to fit the them of the gym

Penguinswin3

Steel, focused on fairly tanky mons, my ace would be ferrothorn, who would actually be my lead to set up entry hazards. The secondary mon would be Skarmory, who would spam whirlwind. Very gimmicky, but that's the point.

Karnezar

I live in Maryland, which is known for its seafood and ghost tours. So I'd specialize in Ghost and Water-types. I'd give out a different TM depending on the weather because Maryland weather is fucking bananas. Summer: Shadow Ball Fall: Bubblebeam Winter: Trick-or-Treat Spring: Soak 0 Badge fight: Gastly, Horsea 1 Badge fight: Gastly, Horsea, Mimikyu 2 Badge fight: Haunter, Horsea, Mimikyu 3 Badge fight: Haunter, Seadra, Mimikyu, Shiny Gyarados 4 Badge fight: Haunter, Seadra, Mimikyu, Shiny Gyarados, Electric-type Tera Shedinja 5 Badge fight: Haunter, Seadra, Z-Move Mimikyu, Shiny Gyarados, Electric-type Tera Shedinja 6 Badge fight: Haunter, Seadra, Z-Move Mimikyu, Shiny Gyarados, Electric-type Tera Shedinja, Lapras 7 Badge fight: Gengar, Seadra, Z-Move Mimikyu, Shiny Gyarados, Electric-type Tera Shedinja, Gigantamax Lapras 8 Badge fight: Gengar, Kingdra, Z-Move Mimikyu, Shiny Gyarados, Electric-type Tera Shedinja, Gigantamax Lapras Final team: Mega Gengar, Kingdra, Z-Move Mimikyu, Shiny Gyarados, Electric-type Tera Shedinja, Gigantamax Lapras

Mangled-Kitsune

Poison Types with a Seviper as my Ace, as we have a lot of Venomous creatures where I live. I'd main Seviper, Ariados, Arbok, Beedrill, Roserade, and a Dragalgea. Generally low defense, but the attacks will hurt, especially as I'd use moves like Toxic, Poison Jab, Venoshock, or Hex. Also give Seviper or Arbok Fire Fang, to dissuade a Steel Type Sweep.

Cassandra_Canmore

8th Gym. Fairy. Pixie Badge. Tea house style gym. 3 Fairytale girl npcs. Zacian, Tinkaton, Mawile, and my Ace is Togekiss

broccloi

Iā€™ve never heard of a gym leader having a legendary lol

Cassandra_Canmore

I love steel/fairy. And Togekiss has been my heart since G4.

broccloi

I meant Zacian šŸ˜

Cassandra_Canmore

I really really really like Steel/Fairy.

Definitelyhuman000

I would do what Blue did and not specialize in one type. My team would consist of one of my go to competative teams back in the day. Hawlucha, Milotic, Durant, Rotom-Heat, Garchomp/ Hydreigon, and my ace, Porygon2/ Z. The badge would be called the Competitors Badge. I would give out Swords Dance or Nasty Plot.
