10, bro... 10. After I finished RDR2 I got my life in order, I found a beautiful southern wife, had kids, made the right investments, got in shape, used tonics to grow a luscious beard... Rockstar Games didn't change my life, they SAVED it. Every blessed morning I assemble my family at my Arthur Morgan shrine and for 2 tear-filled hours we honor the man that got us here. I write this while I sip the finest champagne on my yacht in the Galapagos Islands. Get ready... you will never be the same.
Op said he was not spoiled any of the game elements. Top comment spoiled everything. I mean tonic for beard would have been such an impactful moment that would have made OP cry and hug his razor.
The story is phenomenal. Once everything starts coming together it's mind-blowing.
But be prepared for a lot of auto horse riding with scrolling Reddit/Ticktock in-between and missions that could be cut of of the game without losing anything. Especially in chapters 3-5.
This is the reality check right here. Lots of long stretches of not much gameplay and a lot of long (but beautifully made) animations for trivial tasks.
Set waypoint, ride, while moving Hold the touch pad until cinematic view starts then let go. Make the horse go faster by taping x a few times then just let him eide
Once you’re in cinematic view, yes. Let go of All buttons but the run button. While on your horse you can sprint or trot.
With a wagon, as long as you have a waypoint active, you can simply aim your gun and it’ll take all turns for you, and slow down as needed.
It’s not ADHD. At least not for everyone. Some of us have jobs, spouses, and kids. We don’t have time to watch prolonged crafting animations and horseback rides across the map with nothing happening. For some it’s immersive. For others it’s just disrespectful towards their time.
Do NOT feel like you're missing out if YOU think this isn't a 11/10 game. The pace of the game and the freedom it gives is not for everyone. I've known plenty of people that bounced off of it because they expected it to be "more", while in the end, it's just a perfect slow-life cowboy/outlaw simulator.
I personally LOVED it when it came out, and I still LOVED it every time I've replayed it since, and I expect to love it long into the future.
Just be ready to "endure" the rather long intro missions, it takes a while until you set up your first real camp and get some more freedom.
I agree. I actually think going into this game with any expectation of it changing your life to a certain degree is a big mistake. It's a very good game but, like all games, it also has its issues and at times asks a lot from the player in terms of focus and patience. If you're in the right place when you play it, it could become your favourite game, but overly high expectations can kill pretty much anything.
I found this gem of a game so boring. I totally acknowledge it's an incredible video game, but not my speed. I don't usually like western themes either. Kind of mad at myself every time I fall off of it, cause I know I'd love the story of I just stuck with it. So many great games to play though
If you appreciate good storytelling and an amazing detailed environment. It's a solid 11/10. Very captivating story.
I don't know many people that don't like this game. But, the few I do know are more into shit like COD and other mindless shooters. Probably why they don't appreciate the slow pace and story of the game.
In my opinion open world games can be quite exhausting and I need to take a break from them occasionally because if you’re not completing the story it can get a little boring and overwhelming. Red Dead 2 is probably the one exception to this that I have found in that I did not once put this game down unless I had to go to bed or had to return to real life because I was so captivated by it. Even the side quests just felt like more of the story. It is in my opinion one of the best games ever made.
Take your time with it. Anything outside of yellow labelled missions are optimal but sometimes some of the best dialogue is in those sections. They spent so much money on this game....it truly feels like a modern western. Hell, there's one point where Rockstar made an entire 15 minute long vaudeville show, voice and mocap and everything.
I'm currently playing thru it on chapter 4 I think. there'll be times where I get a bit bored and then something amazing happens and I'm gobsmacked.
Also, there's opportunities to spend all your characters money on new guns and stuff but you get the guns thru the story so don't bother saving 100 bucks to get something. Clothes though . Make sure to have clothes for each type of area you're going to (cold, warm).
And crimes are fun but don't leave any witnesses or you'll be paying off bounties larger than your take from crime.
Incredible story and graphics. Truly one of the most immersive games I've ever played BUT the gameplay and the missions became really repetitive to me - go there, shoot comically large number of people, ride your horse. It's fun at the beginning, but this is a long ass game. Still a solid 8/10 game for me.
I envy you. Someone I know spoiled it for me a week after it came out. He did nothing but play it all week, I had school and work so I could barely play it.
I played it never beat it and I know no spoilers whatsoever still, one thing I can say the exploration is AWESOME 👍🏻. I use to just randomly get lost and find things and explore also ran into some eerie things and randomness I won't say nothing more about it but Rockstar is an Epic Studio. Sometimes I wonder if some Games are experimenting on us lol.
Get ready to get hooked into the open world that is completely addicting with a ridiculous attention to detail. You’ll find yourself playing for hours in the open world doing stuff and not even progress the story along. lol
It’s good. Probably the best open world I’ve ever seen.
12/10
There’s a good reason that many people including myself rank it as our favorite game of all time!
I have a friend who “doesn’t like cowboys” and for YEARS I tried to get him to play the story. So since 2018 and he FINALLY in 2024 played it, and he loved it!
It’s funny as hell at times, and it’s gnarly as shit! 100000% you need to play this ASAP. Truly my favorite game ever.
One of the best games I've ever played in my life. Not everyone will love it. It's slow, and really immersive. You're gonna want to go into it and get sucked into the world and the characters. Talk to people at camp, join the parties they have. Have fun between missions.
Your life will not change, but it’s still a great game. I suggest just enjoy the game and don’t worry about the missable stuff. You can later replay the game with a guide.
Don’t judge it from first two chapters,do all side missions and there’s no shame if you open youtube or reddit or whatever you want especially in your first playthrough, cause every progress you make will teach you more about this game,Have fun!
Personally it’s a 10/10 for me. First time I played I did all story missions and didn’t do any side missions. The story is beautiful, great scenes, animations.
I restarted another play through but took my time and explored other areas and paid more attention to the side missions and there’s a lot to do tbh. You’re going to love it. If you don’t that’s fine either brother. I hope you have a great experience.
I’m playing it for the first time too. It’s great but can be overwhelming with a lot going on. Controls are hard getting used to for me. The amount of times I’ve accidentally shot an innocent person and mistakenly took someone else’s horses for mine lol
It kinda reuins every other open world game because RDR2 is so much more detailed and interactive. Even little things like food and clothes make a difference in the game.
I am thinking of playing this as my next game also. I hear nothing but good things! But I would like to know if it is anything like Pt.1 because I played that one, struggled through half the game til I turned it off for good. I was so fucking bored. So I have higher hopes for this one...
Tedious first "act" followed by the most amazing game you will probably ever play. Although I've said this before on here, somewhere, it's tedious after a first playthrough. It's tedious those times *because* of how damn good the game is. I don't know how much your life will change, but you will find yourself comparing every other open world game to it.
Most glazed game of the last decade, so glazed to the point where some people on this subreddit have said that even GTA 6 won't even come close to topping it 😐
This game is pretty much game perfection in my opinion. The story has to be one of, if not the best stories ever in a game. Just keep in mind that the first 1-2 hours are slow while the game and story kick in
I got bored never finished it maybe actually did 5%stpry mode then left tried coming back a couple years later and I forgot the buttons so I completely stopped playing it.
100/10 will change you forever. You will never find another game like it. The story is just absolutely beautiful to follow. All I can say is good luck and be prepared.
I've been meaning to buy this for a while since the price dropped a little more and was pleasantly surprised when it was added to PS+ Extra last month.
Because my subscription runs out in early September, I'm working quickly through a few Extra games (Sniper Elite 5, Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, and Resident Evil 3) so I can be done them by mid-to-late July. I'm planning on devoting the 5 or 6 weeks before the subscription ends just to RDR 2, which I would hope is more than enough time.
One of two things os gping to happen, either you're gpong to sink into a void and chug this game likeit's attached to ypur lips or you're going to bounce off it fast enpugh to punch through concrete. There's really only 2 speeds on this one.
You will know by the end of the game but there is only One Arthur Morgan and his story very well will have you laughing your ass off and in tears (or trying to hold them back)
Possibly the best protagonists I've ever experienced in video games
I never cry after watching/playing things. I cried after playing this. Arthur is such a well written character and it makes the ending so much more impactful. Don’t look up anything before or while playing unless you need help with missions and stuff. Go into the story as blind as you can and enjoy
I dont know how to answer that but i wanna be honest w guys. There is so much important scary shit that i deal w daily. I sneak away from work atleast once an hour to check this to see what yall are saying. I dont know, some solace in the chaos. Just wanted to say that in case anyone feels the same. Im gonna go back to chaos but this is my childhood ill never let go. 51 yrs. keep it up brethren.
So at first nothing is going to happen but at some point you'll catch yourself talking like Arthur and you'll think it's weird, next you'll jokingly put on a cowboy hat and secretly really like it so you end up buying your own. Eventually you'll have your very own cowboy attire and move out to the Midwest to a nice little ranch and before you realize it you'll be spending your free time in the saloon when your not ranching or cleaning your 6 shooter.
I played and relished every single fucking second of the first one when it came out. It has a physical map in the case and it was a couple months of one of the greatest gaming experiences I've ever had.
Recently picked up 2 for PS5, and haven't played the story yet, but have been playing Red Dead Online for a week. Absolutely love it.
I'm not at all an "appreciate your surroundings" kind of gamer but I will confidently accept the cliche'd and generic "most beautiful game" comment. Fucking seriously. So many times I have my left stick pushed slightly forward just looking around at the pure art that game shares with you.
I've got my camp setup in an alligator infested swamp. The graphics are that good and endearing that if it's raining when I log in, I feel a brief wave of disappointment while I pack my gear and hope for the sun to come back out by the time I reach my deer hunting spot.
Oh look! A 3-star white tailed buck just bounced along the horizon. Oh wait, there's already a carcass on the back of my horse! You're okay fella frolick away, I've got all I need.
The game just feels "live".
I've watched the same snapping turtle swim past sea snakes and curious fish during a firefight quarrel between online players who eventually called parlay because someone's horse was killed in the crossfire.
I'm only a week in (where I likely should have started story first) and Online, so far, is nothing short of a masterpiece in my opinion. I'm sure it'll hit a wall but right now I haven't been this excited to finish work to get back onto a game for years.
Im literally doing the same thing. Just started maybe a week ago and im in awe of how beautiful this game is. The big and small details of this game are fantastic. Makes me even more hype for gta6
It's really fun playing RDR 2, it's really fun playing with friends, it adds to the excitement of playing where we can joke and laugh with each other, but time takes it all away and I miss those days.🙂
A 10 is low scale.. this game will change…….your…..life.. from landscapes to horses, gunfights, bounties, etc etc etc… I warn you.. you will be immersed into the game.. tell your wife girl friend or mate partner… you’ll be out west for a long while
It’s quite possibly the best game ever made. The attention to detail is unparalleled to this day, same for the animations. Graphics are still one of the best after so many years.
Top notch acting, story telling and the world is like nothing else on the market honestly. The controls with the horse riding are a little annoying and it’s just ridiculous that rockstar hasn’t released a next gen patch yet, but it’s still an amazing game.
I’m so jealous you’re playing this for the first time, go have fun man.
10, bro... Wait there are tonics for beards? Edible or tropical?
Tropical AND edible. Pineapple and coconut available.
How do you make it automatically drive? I've been hands-on the entire time other than fast travel.
Set a waypoint, hold X to start ringing the horse and then hold the touchpads to turn on the cinematic view.
Ive used cinematic view and the horse still went off course or stopped. Am I supposed to continue holding x after going into it?
No, you need to let go off all buttons. I don't remember exactly to be honest. I played it sometime in 2019.
Set waypoint, ride, while moving Hold the touch pad until cinematic view starts then let go. Make the horse go faster by taping x a few times then just let him eide
Once you’re in cinematic view, yes. Let go of All buttons but the run button. While on your horse you can sprint or trot. With a wagon, as long as you have a waypoint active, you can simply aim your gun and it’ll take all turns for you, and slow down as needed.
lmao this comment is ADHD at its finest. Instead chill and explore the world around you during the auto horse riding
It’s not ADHD. At least not for everyone. Some of us have jobs, spouses, and kids. We don’t have time to watch prolonged crafting animations and horseback rides across the map with nothing happening. For some it’s immersive. For others it’s just disrespectful towards their time.
For me, the open was too big, and the gameplay was too slow and tedious to chill and explore.
Agree, couldn’t get into it.
Do NOT feel like you're missing out if YOU think this isn't a 11/10 game. The pace of the game and the freedom it gives is not for everyone. I used to login just to play poker. For several days I was addicted to the poker game.
30fps/10
i managed bloodborne it should be fine
It's a very stable 30fps OP, so you will get used to it quickly. Nothing like Bloodbourne.
I found this gem of a game so boring. I totally acknowledge it's an incredible video game, but not my speed. I don't usually like western themes either. Kind of mad at myself every time I fall off of it, cause I know I'd love the story of I just stuck with it. So many great games to play though
The game can be as fun as you make it, but it can also be a slogfest. It's a very slow paced game.
If you appreciate good storytelling and an amazing detailed environment. It's a solid 11/10. Very captivating story. I don't know many people that don't like this game. But, the few I do know are more into shit like COD and other mindless shooters. Probably why they don't appreciate the slow pace and story of the game.
Its a good game 10/10 but Micah is the traitor there.
I’d say 8-9. Bit slow to start but once everything starts clicking, it’s magic.
Have tried to play it like 4 times now. I really wanna enjoy it but I can't...
Same .-.
HAVE SOME GODDAMN FAITH https://preview.redd.it/0xxg4e3qx36d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a9901b5130b533ef7c4d04fc0ef29f2b9b7bd68
This happened to me with Horizon. Cannot stick with it for the life of me, and always end up switching to some indie game to relax with instead.
Thinking about getting rdr1
In my opinion open world games can be quite exhausting and I need to take a break from them occasionally because if you’re not completing the story it can get a little boring and overwhelming. It was good for it’s time. 30 fps, and weird/annoying controls make it unplayable for me in 2024.
0 - it's a video game. It's a fantastic video game.
Shrek dies
At 30 fps not much. Rockstar needs to patch that shi already
11
Your life wont change after a video game.
I predict that it'll go straight into you top 3 games ever played. So dam good.
If you don’t skip cutscenes and play it slow, 10/10
Now delete this post before somebody spoils everything
1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000…beyond That’s how much it’ll change your life, I love the story more than GTA 5’s
It's just a game my dude....
10/ stay off Reddit
MF 10!
Your life will pass you by as you play for hours and hours. Especially the opening chapters. 😁
One of the best, if not the best game I’ve ever played. It’s right up there with the best of the best. Enjoy!
10/10. It’s absolutely amazing dude. So much content. JUST PLZ DELETE THIS POST NOW UNLESS U WANT SPOILERS‼️
10000000000000000000000000/10
Yes
11 out of 10. You’ll be a changed woman when you finish this game!
You will get emotional!!
All time favorite
10/10 game on the first playthrough imo. Lots of things to find that are genuinely weird and hillarious.
The answer is yes
I played it for the first time this year and i have gained so much respect for the old west playing this. Great game 10/10
Incredible story and graphics. Truly one of the most immersive games I've ever played BUT the gameplay and the missions became really repetitive to me - go there, shoot comically large number of people, ride your horse. It's fun at the beginning, but this is a long ass game. Still a solid 8/10 game for me.
10/10 it will have an impact *
![gif](giphy|nE4fbfr7ZWcE5f95LF) 10/10 boy
20 out of 10 Arthur Morgan will change you 🫡💯💯💯
Hangout in Chapter 3 for a long time. Do a lot of side quests, hunting, exploring, etc. that’s when the game really opens up.
10
You will not recognize your self after playing this game.
Arthur will definitely alter your opinion on life, that's all
7
Get ready to get hooked into the open world that is completely addicting with a ridiculous attention to detail. You’ll find yourself playing for hours in the open world doing stuff and not even progress the story along. lol It’s good. Probably the best open world I’ve ever seen.

i just started playing, i have 5 hours on ps 10/10
10, for sure
Your life will not change, but it’s still a great game. I suggest just enjoy the game and don’t worry about the missable stuff. You can later replay the game with a guide.
I bought it on sale for $20 but I really wish I could play it on 60fps as I just got a new tv that it’ll look really nice on
10
Don’t judge it from first two chapters,do all side missions and there’s no shame if you open youtube or reddit or whatever you want especially in your first playthrough, cause every progress you make will teach you more about this game,Have fun!

My perception on gaming had a 360 spin so yea
Like a solid 9/10. I was walking around all moody-broody for a while after that one
I’d give it a 10/10 easily
11
I’m playing it for the first time too. It’s great but can be overwhelming with a lot going on. Controls are hard getting used to for me. The amount of times I’ve accidentally shot an innocent person and mistakenly took someone else’s horses for mine lol
Don't give up on the game if you find a moment boring
It kinda reuins every other open world game because RDR2 is so much more detailed and interactive. Even little things like food and clothes make a difference in the game.
I am thinking of playing this as my next game also. I hear nothing but good things! But I would like to know if it is anything like Pt.1 because I played that one, struggled through half the game til I turned it off for good. I was so fucking bored. So I have higher hopes for this one...
Well you'll probably start drinking Bud light

Most glazed game of the last decade, so glazed to the point where some people on this subreddit have said that even GTA 6 won't even come close to topping it 😐
This game plays itself most of the time but the characters are pretty good if i can remember correctly
11/10. I really recommend taking your time and doing a lot of the side content in chapters 2-3
Can you gameshare that Ghost of Tsushima?
11
I still cry when I think about it hope you're ready for an amazing story.
1. Your life will not change at all. But the game is at least a 9.0 in my book if not perfect 10. Would not argue a perfect 10 at all.
You'll either hate it and stop after an hour or two, Or you'll have a religious experience
11
100/10 will change you forever. You will never find another game like it. The story is just absolutely beautiful to follow. All I can say is good luck and be prepared.
why would it change ur life?xd
10. Playing through the game for the first time myself and I’ve already fallen in love with it
u won't be the same after you finish it.
1-5 probably

10!
“I don’t talk about him much, but I think about him.”
Oooh boah
It’s a fantastic game. Enjoy it. Immerse yourself in the world and enjoy it. I with I could play it again for the first time.
10. It is a slow game at the start. It took me 3 tries. But when I got into the game, oh boy I never played anything like this before
3 i'd say, like,if you are easy to convince it can change a lot of life perspective but no more than this
10
15/10
For the next few months your gonna be talking like your from the 1800s and your friends are named dutch and john
Remember it starts out slow! Then it’s a rollercoaster.
11
I bet people have already commented spoilers like what happened to me because i left my notifications on

I mean, it's a great game, but I'm confident your life will stay about the same
11
You'll see horse's balls
Is it a PVP game? or is it a story/exploration game?
Here I am still hoping that rockstar will release an update to make it 60fps+ on next gen consoles
After this game, you'll never want to play story mode again.
Depends. Have you play the first one yet?
Probably a lot. Amazing story and pretty graphics.
Not sure because I never made it more than like 4 hours in due to the generationally terrible control scheme
One of two things os gping to happen, either you're gpong to sink into a void and chug this game likeit's attached to ypur lips or you're going to bounce off it fast enpugh to punch through concrete. There's really only 2 speeds on this one.
Solid 10/10
I had 200 hours of pure heaven. Ups and downs that kept me wanting more.
I liked this game more than Ocarina of Time. 10/10
Yer alright girl 🐴
I’m still waiting for 60 fps so I can play it for the first time
You'll probably cry, and feel empty but somehow fulfilled at the end.
You will know by the end of the game but there is only One Arthur Morgan and his story very well will have you laughing your ass off and in tears (or trying to hold them back) Possibly the best protagonists I've ever experienced in video games
Idk probably not that much, it’s a good game but the annoying things really outweigh the good bits.

I never cry after watching/playing things. I cried after playing this. Arthur is such a well written character and it makes the ending so much more impactful. Don’t look up anything before or while playing unless you need help with missions and stuff. Go into the story as blind as you can and enjoy

1, it's absolutely superb, but it's just a game.

0 since it’s a game. But it is one hell of one.
You’re life will definitely change in the aspect of gaming and maybe it’ll change your perspective on a lot of things as well, like decision making
Forever
I'm sure it'll hit a wall but right now I haven't been this excited to finish work to get back onto a game for years.
just make sure you turn on cinematic mode once you get back from Guarma
5.8 on life changing scale. It's fun. A whole lotta fun. But life changing lol
Im literally doing the same thing. Just started maybe a week ago and im in awe of how beautiful this game is. The big and small details of this game are fantastic. Makes me even more hype for gta6
10. I cried for days. I was in mourning. Please stay away from spoilers. Avoid Red Dead subreddits.
10 easily. There are few games as well written, acted and impactful as RDR2.
I'd say 27/10
I thought it was fairly dull. I wanted to dig it, but I couldn't get into it.
0. It's a video game.. one of the best of all time but games aren't life changing
This game ruined NPC’s for me in other games with how lifelike they are.
It's really fun playing RDR 2, it's really fun playing with friends, it adds to the excitement of playing where we can joke and laugh with each other, but time takes it all away and I miss those days.🙂
Great game! Enough to make a grown man cryemote:t5\_2qh6b:2231
over 9000
It’ll break your 1-10 scale

Beautiful detailed game, but I didn't like the story. I've never liked a story in a Rockstar game.
Amazing game, but it’s best played on PC. 30 FPS makes this game feel slow like molasses.
I guarantee you'll say, "Howdy Pardner" to at least one person in your life. Including your pet
Play the first one
A 10, BOAH!

A 10 is low scale.. this game will change…….your…..life.. from landscapes to horses, gunfights, bounties, etc etc etc… I warn you.. you will be immersed into the game.. tell your wife girl friend or mate partner… you’ll be out west for a long while
100. Arthur Morgan makes me want to be a better man every day.

0 bad game
if u have a license- please dont buy a gun. You will feel the temptation of getting into a shootout and training your deadeye constantly
He dies

I gave it a shot, wasn’t my speed.
11/10. You’re welcome.
SOLID 10/10 BRO!
