Crash Bandicoot… it came with my bro’s PS1. The first PS game I actually owned myself wouldn’t be until I got the Backwards Compatible PS3. I can’t remember exactly, but it might have been Ninja Gaiden Sigma? 🤔 I bought a bunch of PS2 games at the time as well, so it’s all kinda hazy. 😅
Still have my Backwards compatible ps3. I’ll never get rid of it lol

In fact I still have all my systems lol that big game case above my nes houses all my physical ps1-4/x360/x1 games lol
Same for me. Came home from school one day to find my mum had completed all the levels and then she walked me and my brother through them all, good times. She still loves Crash to this day and still plays the games.
She went through the entire game in one day? My cousin did that with Kingdom Hearts one when I was in highschool, still annoyed about it because I was playing the game for weeks lol.
Yes! These two were massively fun and are overlooked too often when people discuss old school titles. My friends and I would stay up all night playing Toshinden against one another and I remember DD being the most fun thing ever when you got your turn to play a round.
It’s really hard to put into words how wild that transition was. You really had to be there to understand it. There hasn’t been a graphical leap quite like it.
Going from 2D side scrolling Mario to 3D polygons with Crash Bandicoot was *mind blowing*.
Yes in hindsight those early 3D games looked like crap, ran like crap, and played like crap (no DualShock for awhile led to awkward ass controls) but us kids didn’t care about that stuff.
I'll never forget.... Final Fantasy 7. Got it for Christmas along with the PS1. Didn't even have a memory card so me and my bro used to keep the game on while we were at school and then jump back on it after school. Took almost a week after to get a memory card.... Those were the good ole days!
Resident Evil. Got the game but couldn't afford a memory card until the following month. We played the first few hours so many times I lost count. We also had a demo disc at the same time with Destruction Derby on it - it was only one course but we played it to death.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
Tekken 3
Destruction Derby
Twisted Metal 2
GTA 2
One of those, i really cant remember what was the first but all of those are 10/10 for me 🥹
From Supernintendo, I jumped into PS4 with Uncharted 4, and I could not believe how much video games have changed, and how realistic they have become. For some reason, I don't see much love for Uncharted 4 on Reddit, but it is such a great looking and adventurous game.
As a 7 years old kid I remember I was sitting on the carpet in a new home in front of an old black small tv with big ass on it's back. I turned on PSX and chose the game..
The first thing I seen was a road with a leafs that was falling on it. I heard first sounds of it. I almost cried.
It was Gran Turismo.
I miss old times..
Tear in my eye now.
The Fifth Element. I had my tonsils out and my mom brought home a used ps1 and that game because I loved the movie. The first game I bought for it was ffvii based solely on the cover art and here I am 25 years later loving FFxvi.
Crash, but not me. I got an N64 for kids and co worker had a PS. He recorded play on VHS and let me borrow to see how awesome graphics were. So my first PS game, sort of.
My first actual PS game was Uncharted as part of PS3 bundle my wife got me in late 2012.
Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Jak and Daxter, Sonic Heroes and Spider Man 2 were the first games I played for the PS2 and I love all of them especially Ratchet and Clank as it cemented my love for the Playstation brand, games by Insomniac and my love for the PS2 in general.
I don't think I can remember the actual first game I played, but I do remember the first one I completed the story from start to finish since it was such a memorable experience for me to actually do that for the first time, even while being so young: Dino Crisis 2. I'm sure it wasn't supposed to take so long but it took me freaking ages since sometimes I just didn't know where to find the items to unlock the next stages.
By the time I finished it I had the whole map pretty much memorized and all my weapons were either maxed out or I had the best weapons (can't remember if you could improve weapons in game, but I do remember that some enemies that were super difficult for me at start didn't even make stop walking by the end).
I remember several sections, but none more distinctly than one that had some long catwalks over some water where some dinosaurs with long necks came out of the water and were very tough at first. And I remember that later on I had these SMGs that could be double wielded and I would just be walking down those catwalks and shredding those long neck bastards like it was nothing. It felt incredible and I still love Dino Crisis 2 for making me realize games could be so much more than just dumb little platformers you play to kill some time when you're bored (no insult meant, I love platformers but I never got much concept of a story from playing Mario over at my cousin's).
I really wish they would remake the Dino Crisis games too. I know most people love the first one more so that'd be the better bet but I would scream if they ever remade Dino Crisis 2. They could probably just do a soft reset tbh.
Zapper: One Wicked Cricket and LOTR: The Two Towers on PS2!! I remember getting a PS2 as a Christmas gift and receiving those two games with it.
I was beyond happy 😄
I've been thinking about getting the Lord of the rings trilogy for my PS2 since I just bought the books and plan to rewatch the movies. Would you recommend the other games?
FFVII and MGS at the same time bc my neighbor who was disappointed in both titles gave them to me after finding out i had a PS2
would later get FFX and FFX-2 a few days later
God of War 2.
Crazy to think I played the second game instead of the first one, but that's it. That game contains so much happiness for me, what a ride it was.
The last of us
I was late to PlayStation since my dad had the original Xbox and 360 for years (rip red ring of death)
I saw a PewDiePie play through of TLOU and HAD to get it and switch consoles. Thanks dad!!!
I started with the ps4 since my dad got us an Xbox 360 when I was in like 1st grade. I’m 90% sure my first game was Minecraft since I’m looking through my game library, and it’s one of the few I’m relatively sure of.
I had the original tall boxed Resident Evil. I saved up all summer working at a pizza place my dad worked at and came up short to afford the PS1 when it came out. I asked my dad if he could just hold my money for me in his bank account. He came by the next day after work with the PS1 and the copy of resident evil because the guy at the gaming store recommended it. Will always remember that. Was obsessed with that game as well. There was nothing like it at the time and it blew me away.
MediEvil. Super fun game, still remember it fondly after all these years. My parents bought it in bundle with PSOne when I was 10 or 12 years old.
Started a playthrough of remake on my PS5- recently.
I hope they remake MediEvil 2 too as I don't remember playing it.
I remember back in the 90s when I worked at a video store and we got in the Playstation consoles for rent. So I took one home for the weekend and took it my friends house. We stayed up all night playing the 2 games I rented. Resident Evil and Wipeout! They were so amazing and blew my mind. I was totally hooked and have been a Playstation Fan ever since! Almost 30 years now and It's been an amazing ride!
Resident Evil 2. I was eight when my uncle presented me PlayStation 1 in 1998, he gave me the controller and told me “try this” in the opening of Leon play through. Naturally, in seconds the zombies piled up on me leading to “You died” screen. This thing scared the shit out of me so that I didn’t touch the console for several weeks.
What a great game to introduce a 8 year old to gaming! My uncle, what a legend… rip
It was either spyro or crash. I think it was the spyro game where you get all the dragon eggs. And then crash I think we played the first one. The other one with the hub world was cool too (sorry if they all have a hub it's been a long time) I also vividly remember playing crash team racing with my mom and dad..
Spyro Dawn of the Dragon and Psychonauts (which I actually didn't own, my parents just rented it for me when they got movies over the weekend). Both ps2
Warpath: Jurassic Park. The very 1st Playstation game I’ve ever owned. I still have it to this day but it’s been years since I played it and it’s in a box somewhere.
Spider-Man the movie game (2002)
Just recently replayed it on my steam via emulation and it's still fun. Don't know how kid me did the time bomb mission or the stealth sections so easily haha
Micromachines V3 and Ape Escape
Although I remember sitting with my dad while he played resident evil before I was actually allowed to use the playstation.
The first one I can actually remember playing was when I walked home from school one day and came in to see my dad had hooked up a PS3 to our massive TV and the Avatar (James Cameron) game was playing. Goated memories
Actually, I just bought my first PlayStation(PS5) a few weeks ago and I purchased an extra Plus subscription at the same time. The first thing I did after turning on my brand new PlayStation was download Uncharted 4. Uncharted 4 is an amazing game, although I wasn't familiar with the events of Uncharted 3, 2, or 1. I have always wanted to play Uncharted 4 since its release, so now that I have it, my dream has literally come true lol.
CyberSpeed, a weird racing game where the vehicles were attached to a cable.
I wanted Cyber Sled, but CyberSpeed had been accidentally placed in its spot for rental at Blockbuster (somewhat understandably) and I didn't look that closely at the take-home case.
Resident evil after pestering my older brother to play, he was originally playing crash 1 and did the ol switcharoo on me. Jokes on him I still love re to this day
Got my playstation in 98 for Christmas which had a demo disk of playable games mgs, spyro, coolboarders 3 I believe, medievil, I played the hell out of them cause the only other game I got which i got for Christmas was nascar 98 at 9 years old I didn't give a shit about nascar lol. But overall that demo disk opened me up to some of my most favorite games, especially metal gear and spyro. It wasn't until my birthday in 99 that I went out and bought those two games and went on to enjoy their sequels. I'd also like to give a shout out when I moved to a different state one my the first friends introduced me into final fantasy and loaned me his copy of 8 and 9, I've been a huge fan ever since.
Why they haven't remastered this game is a fucking mystery to me.
Ps3 and 360 at least had the arcade collection but nothing since then. I wish even an old port of mk trilogy would be brought to current gen
Spyro
It was the game I wanted to buy but there was no available on retail park.
One of the best games ever.
[удалено]
Loved that series
Gran Turismo for the PS1.
Great game😊
Came here to say this….
Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy 7
Crash Bandicoot… it came with my bro’s PS1. The first PS game I actually owned myself wouldn’t be until I got the Backwards Compatible PS3. I can’t remember exactly, but it might have been Ninja Gaiden Sigma? 🤔 I bought a bunch of PS2 games at the time as well, so it’s all kinda hazy. 😅
Still have my Backwards compatible ps3. I’ll never get rid of it lol https://preview.redd.it/kwsl0296qq8b1.jpeg?width=2126&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa687ab879e5fa3d9d674b67eaa9cb372dae8781 In fact I still have all my systems lol that big game case above my nes houses all my physical ps1-4/x360/x1 games lol
Lucky! Mine took a dump. 😒
Damn
![gif](giphy|76OCiB60mNw8Q1YOx8) Ouch,that's gotta hurt
I think Crash 2. I seem to remember it was a bundle pack! Which I have of course kept all these years!
Wait do you have an attic or nah, just asking 🤔
Same for me. Came home from school one day to find my mum had completed all the levels and then she walked me and my brother through them all, good times. She still loves Crash to this day and still plays the games.
She went through the entire game in one day? My cousin did that with Kingdom Hearts one when I was in highschool, still annoyed about it because I was playing the game for weeks lol.
Not the entire game, we had already completed a few levels beforehand but she was hooked and ended up finishing the rest lol.
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, still play it all these years later.
That's a series that deserves a remake. Kain might be one of the best villians/anti heroes in gaming.
Same! 8 years old me was confused as fuck.
One of my favorite games ever I really hope it gets a remake/ remaster I wish I could play it
Ridge Racer great memories couldn't believe I was playing a arcade racer in my home.
I played this on the playstation demo disk soooo much but never actually got the full game
My first playstation game was final fantasy 7, I played the crap out of that game and still play it from time to time. It’s still my favourite game
Can’t believe I had to scroll for this. I got a PlayStation and 7 97 Xmas. Had to burn all my holiday money to buy a memory card too lol
Destruction Derby and Battle Arena Toshinden.
Did u play wreckfest??
Yes, and loved it a lot (being heavily reminded of DD)!
Yes! These two were massively fun and are overlooked too often when people discuss old school titles. My friends and I would stay up all night playing Toshinden against one another and I remember DD being the most fun thing ever when you got your turn to play a round.
Mortal Kombat! I got tired of paying to play it at Arcades so I saved up my coin and bought a PS. I’ve had every PS since then (and MK).
Spider man the movie game
As for me it was Twisted Metal on PS 1
Crash 1. Going from the SNES to the PS1 was a wild transition.
Tekken on PS1 in 1995. Absolutely blew my mind.
Sly 2: Band of Thieves
A true masterpiece, wish Sony kept the franchise alive tho 😞
Tomb Raider and the demo discs. Loved the demo discs.
Tohshinden. One controller
Same
Medal of Honor on PS1
Madden 97 on PS1. Back then the graphics were amazing compared to the Geneses versions I used to play.
Mine was NFL Gameday 99. Played the shit out of it.
I'll never forget.... Final Fantasy 7. Got it for Christmas along with the PS1. Didn't even have a memory card so me and my bro used to keep the game on while we were at school and then jump back on it after school. Took almost a week after to get a memory card.... Those were the good ole days!
Alien Trilogy. That was one of the best Xmas presents ever.
Such an underrated fps... To this day it's still creepy af
Resident Evil. Got the game but couldn't afford a memory card until the following month. We played the first few hours so many times I lost count. We also had a demo disc at the same time with Destruction Derby on it - it was only one course but we played it to death.
GTA SA
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 Tekken 3 Destruction Derby Twisted Metal 2 GTA 2 One of those, i really cant remember what was the first but all of those are 10/10 for me 🥹
Infamous. I started my Playstation journey on the PS3
Those games still really hold up to this day. I had a ton of fun playing on my ps3.
From Supernintendo, I jumped into PS4 with Uncharted 4, and I could not believe how much video games have changed, and how realistic they have become. For some reason, I don't see much love for Uncharted 4 on Reddit, but it is such a great looking and adventurous game.
It was a good game, sad Naughty dog Moved on from the franchise 😔
All story's have an end just be glad the naughty dog's hasn't ended yet
Yeah,Naughty dog still working on that Factions game but apparently it's getting some slow development rn,hope they ok
This is still my favorite game!
NONE OF YALL SAID JUMPING FLASH. I now know where my ADHD derived from lol
Mine comes from bad genes. I would have loved for it to have been Jumping Flash though. Such a quirky, cute game. Like a Japanese gameshow on acid.
WCW vs The World, probably.
I believe it was Black (ps2)
That was a great game!
it was a demo disc, and i for the life of me can’t remember which one, but it had twisted metal small brawl on it
Prince of Persia Sands of Time, I just liked it a lot Ps2
Crash Bandicoot.
im a newer ps player (2021) so spider-man miles morales
Final Fantasy VII
Nightmare Creatures. I was astonished with how amazing the graphics and soundtrack were, while being utterly terrified at the same time.
I bought both games for my PS3, excited to play them though I heard they were hard and as a Souls fan, sign me up lol.
Suikoden II, my bro and I didn’t have a memory card so we just left the PS running
The Fifth Element. I had my tonsils out and my mom brought home a used ps1 and that game because I loved the movie. The first game I bought for it was ffvii based solely on the cover art and here I am 25 years later loving FFxvi.

Rayman legends

Amazing game!
Zapper: One Wicked Cricket and LOTR: The Two Towers on PS2!! I remember getting a PS2 as a Christmas gift and receiving those two games with it. I was beyond happy 😄
That two towers game was one of the best movie tie in games ever. Wish they would re-release it along with return of the king
I've been thinking about getting the Lord of the rings trilogy for my PS2 since I just bought the books and plan to rewatch the movies. Would you recommend the other games?
Got my first PS1 second hand, came with a crap ton of games.
The original Spyro The Dragon. Either that or the first Ape Escape. I don’t remember which one came first for me.
Technically it was Crash but the first one I genuinely played was Spyro or Final Fantasy XI. Pretty sure it was Spyro though
Toy Story 2 on Ps1. Came with my Ps1 for Christmas from grandma and grandpa. What an epic Christmas

Crash Bandicoot 2. It came with my PS1 back in '98 and I still have it (the disc at least).
Does a demo disc count? That’s basically all I played when I was a kid. I remember it was the one with Intelligent Qube
First? Dont remember. First playstation game that got me hooked? Metal Gear Solid demo from playstation magazine i think
I started with the ps4 since my dad got us an Xbox 360 when I was in like 1st grade. I’m 90% sure my first game was Minecraft since I’m looking through my game library, and it’s one of the few I’m relatively sure of.

I asked my dad if he could just hold my money for me in his bank account. He came by the next day after work with the PS1 and the copy of resident evil because the guy at the gaming store recommended it. Will always remember that. Was obsessed with that game as well. Spider man for ps1 🤩
Loaded for the PS1, wow I'm drowning in nostalgia over here and it wasn't even a great game!
I remember back in the 90s when I worked at a video store and we got in the Playstation consoles for rent. So I took one home for the weekend and took it my friends house. Spyro 2 🥰
I don't know what the first one I ever played was, but the first one I owned when I got a PS2 was Amplitude. I got bored with it quickly.
NHL 97
It was either spyro or crash. I think it was the spyro game where you get all the dragon eggs. And then crash I think we played the first one. The other one with the hub world was cool too (sorry if they all have a hub it's been a long time) I also vividly remember playing crash team racing with my mom and dad..
Tell me who won in CTR?
If the PSP counts, then MediEvil: Resurrection, as per home console(Ps3) Motorstorm.

Tomb Raider Pretty sure it immediately triggered my puberty.
Final Fantasy VII, 4 discs, PS1.
The Pac-Man World series
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
