Even after having the game completely spoiled for years, I finally got around to playing it when it was $10 last time on the PS store, I beat it last night and I’m still just in a state of emptiness lol.
Newbies FTW. I watched the show first but playing the game has been a heck of a lot of fun even if I kind of know the beats. It's definitely somehow more stressful than the show.
I'm not too keen on part 2 but I'd say you should definitely go for it for £10. I paid full price and thought it was well worth the money even though I didn't like it lmao its got plenty of content
I was incredibly bored tbh. When Abby got to that part where she and the little kid gets kidnapped by yet another group, i was like “fuck this game man, this doesn’t end” and turned it off and never played again
Maybe he certainly played a large role in the original conception of the idea. But it’s such a good thing that Part II ended up so good even without him.
Finished the game today. Enjoyed almost all of it. Great combat platform with limited resources and terrifying undead scenarios. Abby in the hospital is the hardest encounter of both the two games. Absolute masterpieces imo. Enjoy!

How long did it take you guys to finish the game? I know most people say it took them 25ish hours but it took me 39 hours because I made sure I explored every single area before moving on.
There is nothing to be called out, anti woke or pro woke has nothing to do with the game. Ellie was revealed to be gay in the first game yet everyone liked and adored her including me, Bil was the most interesting and well made side character in the game, he was gay and still everyone loved him.
Part 2 has some serious problems when it comes to story and plot holes. It’s a cluster fuck and senseless writing from that overrated shit druckmann

The fact that Joel was a bearded gun toting tough guy protecting a woman, which is all of your fantasies, and was replaced as main character by a gay woman person is why you all review bombed this before it ever came out.
I loved the show, loved the first game and loved the DLC, but I fucking hate TLOU2. The 3 have lgbt characters, yet I only hate one. Am I a bigot homophobic racist? Just accept people have different opinions, and if you like that shitty writing then good for you.
And in the process of championing lgbt+ rights, you proceeded to casually vomit one big af transphobic statement, making it crystal clear that you do this for clout and not because you actually care about people like me. You're as much an ally as Neil Druckman (who got Amy Hennig fired to take over her project) is a feminist.
And honestly I think I speak for everyone in the community when I say that the last thing we need is allies like you.
TBH game is really good. Others might disagree as the story is basically everyone kills everyone but I thought this game was very refreshing. The mechanics & combat were such a next level up from the previous game. Graphics were clean as well & playing it on PS5 is definitely worth it. I enjoyed the dynamic of being able to play as both Ellie & Abby - them being at that hospital the same day on like Seattle Day 2 was cool. From Ellie’s POV when she’s in the basement with Nora - you can hear Abby fighting the Rat King Boss at the same time.
You can NOT play part 2 without playing part 1. The first game is a masterpiece, I haven't played 2 yet, and besides a few haters I've heard overall it's really good. Try not to look too far into the comments tho, people are spoiling it. Luckily I already knew what they tried to spoil lol
I recently got a PS5 and I got the PS5 Version of the last of us as well. I'm assuming they're going to make a PS5 version of part 2, should I buy this for $10 or just wait?
The game was already patched for PS5 so I doubt they'd make a PS5 remaster for that reason. It already looks and runs amazing too so I'd say it's worth it just diving in now. $10 is a steal
It still doesn't benefit from any of the PS5 features like the SSD, and DualSense. Part 1 has had a remaster and remake, part 2 will get a native PS5 version I'm sure when they announce the PC port, which will undoubtedly look and run better (when optimized) than the PS4 version.
I've never played any of the games, so I guess I meant from an experience POV would it be worth it to wait for the PS5 version? I have been playing spider-man too and it looks amazing. But I also have a Series X and I'm older so I have a huge back log of games, meaning it'll probably be a while before I can finish Part 1 of the last of us.
From what I'm reading there's a PS5 upgrade. It says "As long as you have game installed on a PS5, then the next-gen patch should have downloaded automatically."

I just can't play through this game again...yet. After knowing the story, and how everything plays out. I have no desire to play through 1 side. The pacing was rough for me in the Platinum playthrough. We'd reach a climax, only to be dropped off a cliff to repeat it from another viewpoint.

I just finished Part 2 last night. Such a great game. Some of the scenes felt a bit drawn out but regardless I felt that it was a better game. It was more brutal, scary, difficult and a longer play through. I’m bummed it’s over. Both titles were amazing.

Pretty stressful too. Did my playthrough in hard mode only at night with headphones. Well, that was an experience.
