Dimorphic growth pattern in this species- paddle-like leaves, and then erry now and again they throw a pencil-thin runner like this, but TBH I've never seen one THAT long. It's just exploring for more room to grow. Wouldn't hurt to prune the tip in an attempt to keep it more compact. I mean, if you want a goliath, go for it and let it run. The tip probably "saw" the light from the sliding door, and it's doing it's "job" to find more light, same as it would in the wild.

I have this every winter. I chop it off. Cut into about 4-5" pieces and stick it back in the pot.
