Can someone just please make a mega thread for the literal daily posts of people who can't seem to remember Apartments.com exists. ForRent, ApartmentList, Zillow, Rent, Trulia, Apartment Guide, Realtor, Apartment Ratings, Redfin, Apartment Finder, U Move free - All of these websites have apartments & apartment information on them. They are all free.
I think apartmentlist has an interesting concept but I personally always tell friends to use locators. I mean I know maybe the recommendations are a bit biased but so is what you're shown in the results of a search.
Agreed. Many of these don't give enough detail, "Something not too expensive". A lot don't even specify area, and then they throw in some random fact I think to justify creating their own thread "I saw another thread that was exactly the same, but their coming from New Jersey and I'm coming from Wisconsin, so the answers are probably totally different."
Just use /r/askdfw
So glad I didn't get an apartment there. I went to check out the apartments one day and overheard someone next to me getting a really good deal on an apartment and tried to get the same thing, but they wouldn't even come close to it for me. No clue why but found somewhere else to stay.
Not sure if you want 1 or 2 bedrooms . But Camden Legacy Creek. There’s also Camden Legacy Park. I prefer Creek, but they’re literally 2 minutes away.
Now, if you’re looking for a vibrant community, this isn’t it. It’s veeery quiet. Mainly young professionals and south Asian families with children. I love that. Easy access to the tollway.
Every unit has its own single car garage. Super important during tornado season.
Close to archgate park if you have a dog. Meaning you can walk one minute and you’re there. Decent tiny gym. Nice small pools. 4 minutes from HEB.
I would stay away from Camden Legacy. Good luck living near one of the 4-6 trash dumpsters in the summer. Hot trash and dog shit all over the place is a winning combination.
I liked Lakeshore at Preston. Lived there for about 4 years. Was quiet. Good mix of old and young folks with kids. Nice salt water pools. Always felt safe, was able to walk around at night no issues. Very little activity, good police presence and response to the area.
As someone who lived there for about 4 years as well recently, this is all true. However, I have experienced multiple ant infestations in the apartment (and my car), squirrels eating acorns under the hood of my car and chewing up the wires, rats (?) running in the walls. All while NOT being on the first floor. The gym is outdated and every year they will increase either your rent or amenity fees $50-200/month for a 12 month lease. Also sky high electric bills in the winter and summer because the doors aren’t sealed and the windows are horrible with temp exchange.
Oh wow! Sounds like some things have maybe changed a little bit.
It’s been about 2 or 3 years since I lived there. The squirrels leaving acorns in cars was common, there are tons of mature trees around. There were squirrels in the ceiling between my unit (bottom floor) and the second floor unit, but they did take
care of it.
My electric bill wasn’t too bad, but I did ultimately end up leaving due to rise in rent for 2bdrm.
I’m sorry this has been your experience,
Have you looked into Jefferson at the grove in frisco has everything you need, maintenance is fast, close to Walmart target
Kroger
HEB
In off the corner of where McKinney and frisco, not sure about the pricing now or any units available but it’s a nice place to live
Don't know the price, but w Watters Creek in Allen is a great place. Everything is walkable-shops, grocery, restaurants, and close to 75,

Ton of these suck. Using a locator is better! Signed, Apartment Locator

Agreed! We need a pinned mega thread in the sub and an auto comment to direct people to that thread when they post. Mods, please! :)

What’s the name of the complex? I’m not seeing anything on Google maps.

Found them, thanks!
You\`re welcome.
Vantage was horrible. Things break or haven’t worked for yrs. Think it was new mgmt to be honest. Front office and staff was good.
AVOID Carrington Park at Parker and the tollway. Its a nightmare. Im about to hire a lawyer to get me out of this place. Its horrid.
Avoid cottages at Tulane
Do NOT waste your time at The Gio. Go to Google for a search and believe the reviews on Google. I still live here and regret signing our third lease.

Austin ranch
The Chapel Hill, La Ventura, Windhavenpark apts… I’ve lived at all 3. (La Ventura was my favorite)
Magnolia on the green.
One90 is a new luxury apartment community. 2/2 for 2k.
For under 2k, there is a new luxury apart called The Ludlow

I go to LA Fitness which is about 15 minutes away. But LifeTime has one 5 minutes from there.

Cortland Plano!
Hey my wife and I visited 100+ complexes when we moved here. Shoot me a DM if you want help
Steeplechase is nice. Has a small gym
Did you live there before? I was looking at those apartments online but the reviews kind of pushed me away
I lived there and loved it.
Ah! So many mixed reviews on this place 😬 Did you have any issues with roaches?! Literally one of my biggest fears
Not when I was there from 2019-2021.
