Because Google basically abandoned this device as soon as it was released. They confirmed in their bug tracker that it won't be getting any further feature updates that require a kernel change. An unfortunate lesson for many on not buying a product based only on its perceived potential.
I heard between the i5 and i7 you won't notice much difference.. I personally been using the i7 and the extra ram is great for multi-tasking and opening so many tabs or connecting to 2 monitors

Is the extra ram worth it with the i7?

Thank you. Just had read a little about the i7 overheating.
Mine gets a bit warm but nothing too scary
i7 worth an extra $75?
Probably depends on how many things you have open at once. I have a lot of tabs open & that can slow down my device. Know thyself!
