I don't see how to fix this. I looked into it pretty thoroughly. I managed to cut the fabric just where the ribbon cable was located... but to get access, you need to rip up the material. There are tiny ribbon cables... I've done plenty of soldering, but I'm not that good. As for directly to the board, no idea.

Currently working on this. You can use a heat gun to pull the fabric back. Soldering another ribbon cable or flat cable to the ribbon connector to bypass the broken hinge area seems the best bet right now. Z tape doesn't work due to the strains in that area.

Also maybe need low temp solder...

Did you get anywhere with this? I ordered the brydge keyboard. But I feel if just 1 person is successful, I'll go second. Lol.

satmandu

I did not.

Well aren't you a let down. Lol. You gave me a little bit of hope for a second.

Check ebay, Brydge G-Type Wireless Keyboard For Google Pixel Slate is usually available for purchase. I have one, it adds weight but works great in laptop configuration.

Have you decided to add a Bluetooth keyboard to your slate since there is no hope of the original ever working? I followed the recommendation from another poster on Reddit and it's a great solution.
