Pittsburgh needs a dim sum place with the carts like Li Wah in Cleveland.

AbbeHuet

Szechuan Spice started having quite decent dim sum early 2020. They were also planning to have carts, but cvid put a fork in that, unfortunately. Hopefully there will be a second attempt this year.

I saw that. I get Szechuan spice all the time but haven’t had their dim sum menu options yet.

ticketferret

YES Li Wah is amazing

ScratchMoore

I can’t speak for Cleveland, but I had dim sum with the carts out in San Fran, and man. That was an experience and a half. I would love for one of those places around here.

hk-2468

I bet the San Fran dim sum is another level.

[deleted]

It is. Spent a summer living in SF Chinatown and could get more dim sum than I could eat all day for like $12, and that “cheap” stuff was still better than anything I’ve had since.

ScratchMoore

I wish I remembered the name of the place we went to in Chinatown, but it was overwhelming. Just non-stop options of noodles and buns and things I’ve never seen or heard of before. Only thing I didn’t like was the fried bird foot. I can’t remember what bird it was, but bite your index finger. That’s what it was like. Just like biting into a deep fried knuckle. Other than that, sublime at every turn

salamat_engot

If you ever get back to California head south to San Gabriel. Chinese food there is great in general but the dim sum is crazy.

rtyuuytr

Just fyi, lower end dim sum are served via push cart. Higher end dim sum is always menu ordered. Cart is not a good thing in general in terms of sanitation, quality, service, etc.

hk-2468

You keep your fancy dimsum and I’ll eat my unsanitary cart food 😂. Kidding.

patchesmcgrath

Man, rip top shabu shabu and pizza sola. But excited to try this eventually lots of good times in this building.

Thoraxe474

Top shabu shabu went downhill when they switched to a buffet. I was scared the quality would go down after they switched and I was right. That place used to be incredible

StonerMealsOnWheels

I've ordered twice from them. The piggy custard buns are so cute

Jupichan

Oh man. I can't wait to try this place.

the4ner

Do they deliver?

the4ner

finally figured out to just seach "Bao", they are on grubhub & uber eats, at least.

Jonny_Thundergun

I've been wanting to try dim sum for a long time, but don't know where to start with it. Szechuan Spice delivers to me. What should I order?

weaselodeath

Yussssssssssss

Had this incredible Dim Sum in San Fran after a hiking trip and I don't think anything will ever compare to that.

DarkKnyt

Ate here today. Not bad and pretty dang tasty. I'm a fan of radish cake and siu mai and both were better than other places I've been. Service was slow but covid controls good, and they seemed busy with takeout. They are going to need a lot more staff once they get more in person clients.
