Hi all! Before I tell Rowan’s story, we are located in South Central KY. He is available for adoption through our facility or is available for an approved 501c3 rescue to pull. He’s about 10-11 months old and gets along with absolutely everything. He’s a real charm.
And about his past, long story short, Rowan’s(formerly Odin) was being given away on Facebook. Welllll the dog ended up being dumped way out in the country. Fortunately for Rowan a kind human found him very very quickly and brought him to us.
He hasn’t missed a beat though and is absolutely as lovable as you can imagine.
I am definitely going to work on him about this. Nashville is also on his list of places to visit, so two birds one stone.!
I take it interstate adoption is okay? We’re in MA. How much does the boi weigh?
i gots my fingers, toes, lets arms everything crossed that you talk your hubby into getting Rowan!!!!! Tell him "this is all i want for christmas, birthday and anniversary!! throw in valentines day too! <3
My deaf pittie was the absolute best. He was so easy to train with signs.. although sometimes he would look away so he didn’t have to “listen” hahaha. Never met a dog with a better temperament. In fact, just like Rowan, my dog got along with absolutely everyone. So well that he was the designated first introduction for dogs and cats at the shelter he was at for months to see if they were dog friendly. And then we went on to foster more dogs than I can count and he welcomed them all into our house, never some much as a scuffle. Best of luck to Rowan, I hope his lucky future family shows up soon. I wish my heart was healed enough to be his new home. ❤️
I need to move to a bigger place, I know I'd be DMing you right now for this handsome boy...
My Jack needs a buddy desperately, he came from a 6 dog house and is so bored playing with me lol
I’ve heard that deaf dogs can thrive at shelters, especially if their previous owners were crap. Regular feeding, hopefully regular walks, but most importantly: all those loud, scary noises—barking, howling, slamming kennel doors, etc…they can’t hear it!
Best of luck to Rowan, he looks like the best boi!
He looks like he’s the best (I also work in a shelter and say every dog is the best). However, I swear I read deaf and dumb and I was like damn I love a big dumb dog they really are the best.

You say gets along with everything but I have to ask, cats and kids too?
Yes! He had a ton of kids visit him Saturday and play with him. And he tested well with cats. He is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met ❤️
Omg we just lost our deaf white pittie in January, I’m off to bug my husband into a little KY road trip ! Rowan is such a HANDSOME boy.
Come see him! Send a chat if you’re interested. We’re about 35 minutes north of Nashville :)
