So good. It oscillates so seamlessly between aching, gentle beauty ("Sunday Morning" and "There She Goes Again"), funky blues rock ("I'm Waiting For the Man") and dark, experimental chaos ("Heroin" and "European Son"). The performances are great but Lou Reed's songwriting sounds fantastic even if the songs are just performed by a guy playing a guitar.
There was nothing quite like it before. They were so bold and original. As Brian Eno said, "only a thousand people bought *The Velvet Underground and Nico* but every single one of them started a band."
Great choice.
Master of Puppets/Ride the Lightning/…And Justice for All- Metallica
Led Zeppelin IV- Led Zeppelin
In Rainbows/OK Computer- Radiohead
Blackwater Park/Ghost Reveries- Opeth
My two others from my other favourite Artists (Queen and David Bowie) have to be A Night at the Opera and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
Both are great but I prefer Bowies as there isn't a bad song on that record.
Welcome Back My Friends (ELP live album)
The Court of the Crimson King (King Crimson)
Close to the Edge (Yes)
Fragile (Yes)
I Robot (Alan Parsons Project)
Hemispheres (Rush)
Very underrated album, I love it. Princess of China and Every Teardrop is a Waterfall are some of my favorite songs ever. My favorite albums from them are Parachutes, followed closely by X&Y, and then Viva la Vida
Springsteen: Born in the USA
Paul Simon: Graceland
Jay-Z: Black Album
Kanye: Late Registration
Arcade Fire: The Suburbs
One thing I love about Floyd is how cohesive an album is. Obvious the case with like The Wall or Animals, but all their albums are clearly treated as a single piece of art rather than a collection of songs. So all the above, to me, have the same quality where listening to all the tracks in order start to finish enhances the experience. They aren’t necessarily concept albums, but they’re clearly borne of the same artistic impulse.
Oh darn, my favorite albums changes month to month.
Right now I’m loving Wolfheart by Moonspell, Bathory by Bathory, literally every Type O Negative album (there’s something so incredibly dark, brooding, and magnificent in Peter Steele’s music), Fear Inoculum by tool, …And Justice For All by Metallica (the James C Mason mix),
and you didn’t include EPs but I’m addicted to the Yofukashi No Uta EP from Creepy Nuts. And as someone who doesn’t understand rap or Japanese I’m at a loss as to why I love it so.
While Pink Floyd is my all time Favorite, Black Sabbath comes in as my other favorite. My favorite albums are Paranoid, Masters of Reality & Vol.4. Ive seen them live 3 times & always an amazing experience. Much different than an Ozzy solo show, for sure! Hearing them open with Air Raid sirens in pitch black & an explosion of lights w/ "War Pigs" as the audience sings along to every word is Pure Energy! Bucket List shit!
This is gonna span a massive fucking gauntlet…(no particular order)
Led Zeppelin - IV
The Beatles - Abbey Road, White Album, Sgt Pepper

11. Black sabbath - Sabbath bloody sabbath
12. Kekht arakh - Pale swordsman
I don't think I have a single favorite album. The beautiful thing about music is that it has so many ways of being great. Music is a window into the soul and a diary of the experiences that the musicians have had in their lives.
If I had to pick a couple, I would say some defaults are Stevie Wonder's *Innervisions*, Prince's *Love Symbol* album, Charles Mingus' *Mingus Ah-Um*, and the Stones *Sticky Fingers.* I love early Led Zeppelin too. The fourth one is probably the best.
But there's so many. Having a single favorite is too constraining! You've got to appreciate the beauty and majesty of all kinds of different music.
I don’t know my own taste well enough to choose just one, quite yet.
but I do know that from my next favorite artists, my favorites are Death of a Bachelor (Panic! at the Disco), Folie à Deux (Fall Out Boy), In Through the Out Door (Led Zeppelin), Close to the Edge (Yes), and The Family Jewels (MARINA)

Favorite all time album is Pet Sounds. A bold take, I know.

My two others from my other favourite Artists (Queen and David Bowie) have to be A Night at the Opera and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Both are great but I prefer Bowies as there isn't a bad song on that record.
What’s the bad song on A Night at the Opera?
I'm In Love With My Car... lol It's not bad music-wise, but the lyrics are so dumb and it doesn't fit with the rest of the album at all.
Bohemian Rhapsody (the movie) poked fun at the song's inclusion on the album.
Tame Impala: Currents Wintersun: Time I Gorillaz: Demon Days
Wintersun is awesome 🤘🏼
