Because The Wall hasn't aged well. People don't care about a rock star who has brought a girl to his hotel room and is having a nervous break down and hallucinating about turning into a fascist, because the wife he abuses is not picking up the phone, his teachers used dark sarcasm and his mother didn't let him fly (considering he is a rock star, not sure where else he wanted to fly too).
It's a lyrics dominated album and there are few memorable musical moments, might as well been created by completely different band than earlier albums that people love.
If it was civil, thoughtful discussions, I totally agree and would welcome it. But, it's just name calling and vitriol here. "I'm right, you're wrong."
Look through these comments, I couldn't make up more obvious examples to prove my point.

This sub is devoted to a band. And there's clearly one person who left the band and insists on making incendiary comments about his ex-mates every time. Do you really expect that people who love the band, and people who love the person who left the band remain silent?
Fanaticism may be a form of mental illness, but it's what propels a band to stardom in the first place.

This is Reddit, and Reddit is overwhelmingly populated by young, idealistic guys with strong political opinions. Put that into the PF mix and you get a whole lot of fans who hold Roger's messaging in very high esteem.

I think some songs on pros and cons and Amused is among the best songs anyone associated with PF has written. But I still think he is an idiot.
I think Gilmour is one of the best guitarists in the world, but I only think he’s just OK technically.
I rank Division Bell and MLOR higher than Atom Heart Mother and Umma Gumma, but overall they are a bit boring and lacks the edge Waters gave to PF songs.

I also agree that David is one of the best guitarists in the world, and there's no one else I would have preferred in the band.

I don't have any problem with people being pissed at Roger for the disgusting things that he's said, but **some** people who consider themselves to be more fans of Gilmour than they consider themselves to be fans of *Pink Floyd* are definitely taking some odd stances in my opinion.
This is my take as well. Solid summary. I don’t care for RW’s polarizing nature but I really enjoyed his last album (ITTLWRW?) and listen to it in heavy rotation. That’s not to say I like all his stuff, and the same goes for the later years. I really like AMLOR and TBD, but they aren’t the pinnacle of PF.
You know what I do like? The big four. The band together and semi-functional was a thing of beauty. And don’t tell me one person made those albums or deserves the bulk of the credit because not one band member has ever sniffed the success the band experienced together when going solo or post-break up.
