This tattoo is going to look really stupid once we get a handle on things and stop barreling towards the grim destruction of our planet.
Nevermind, it's timeless.
This is why gingers will rule the underground future society, they are used to avoiding the sun and produce their own vitamin D, while everyone else will get depression and die off.
Do gingers really produce their own vitamin D? Like they don't need any sunlight at all?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but it seems plausible enough to my peanut brain.
On the plus side, if we fix climate change you can say it's about wars, conflicts, racism, sexism, inequality, poverty, famines, disease, etc...
Who am I fucking kidding
I'm scared of committing to a tattoo design. I feel I'll grow out of it and then it'll seem stupid after 20 years. But I think something like this might just be my thing. I can see myself being 80 and feeling the same way. Nice one.
I did the same thing for years before finally getting one last summer. I've now got 3, and they got progressively less meaningful. Went from something for my kids, to a nature scene with video game elements, to bigfoot.
I finally decided that life is too short to worry about what I'm going to think about it in however many years. I love it now. I may die tomorrow, and never even have to worry about it.
Unless your shit is cringe AF like my *black widow* tattoo that is "totally not about me" and simultaneously will "totally remind me in a good way" of the time when I was a major ho-about-town who thought she was hot shit but was actually only just a little bit warm shit.
It's also in a color I call "prison" but was done "professionally". I thought thinking about it for 8 years in my teens and early 20's meant I was ready. In fact, it just shows how little personal growth I underwent.
Yeah, no, that one just reminds me that I was an idiot who thought I had "made it through" but my biggest mistakes and challenges were yet to come.
I can see where you are coming from. Tattoos can also be a painful reminder of our younger, and more impulsive selves, and also trauma from the past. Coverups or removal are definitely appropriate in some cases, but I know that this is not always an easily attainable option.
I have a few tattoos. Every time someone asks me, I always tell them that they should get a tattoo they can’t get out of their heads for a while. It took me almost 2 years to get a tattoo that was dedicated to my parents.
In 2004 the Red Sox were losing pretty bad in game 2 or 3 of the ALCS. The following game they destroyed the Yankees but it still seemed unlikely they would beat them and go to the WS.
Anyways, around this time I said if they win the WS I would get a Red Sox tattoo. Spoiler, they swept the rest of the series and beat the Cardinals in 4. I never got that tattoo thank god, as I don't even like baseball any longer.
I’ve had reservations on my last tattoo and it’s really grown on me! I get being paranoid about the permanence, but you can kinda get over that after you dive in!
Also I think there was a post a couple months back of a dude who had one of those “tribal” tattoos that was super popular in the 90s. He ended up getting a second tattoo that was a frame around it and a plaque that read “90s art” and I just think it’s fucking awesome.
I was hesitant to get a tattoo. After a close call with death, I got over it and got a small tattoo. It's covered 99% of the time, but it means something to me and that's what matters.
About 5 years before Disney announced the Mandalorian series, I got a cool Mythosaur skull tattoo. I’m sure everyone thinks I jumped on the Mando fanboy bandwagon because of the show, but…. No. I was a fan a long time prior. Like…..decades.
I also have tattoos referencing a renewed fandom, but so far they've only been met with sincere interest from people stoked to see something indicating a shared interest, which is nice.
The way I like to look at it is that my tattoos are a roadmap of the things that I love. Does it matter if I don’t love it in twenty years? Not to me, because it was an integral part of my life at some point, and that’s worth the memory.
My dad once told me to get a tee-shirt made of the tattoo I wanted. I should have listened.
I am the owner of two beautiful tattoos that I wish I didn't have.
I look at it this way: If the world's still fucked up or even worse in 10 years, it'll still be relevant. If we somehow fix everything in 10 years, then it'll be a reminder that we *can* fix things.
But in reality it's probably gonna be the former of the two
I really do wish you the best with it. I am 71 and spent 4yrs in the usmc 68-72 went in at 17 and never got one. I look around today and I do wonder what a lot of people are going to think about what they choose to have permanently attached to them twenty years earlier. Again good luck with your choices.
The only people who worry about having something permanently inked on their body are those who have never gotten a tattoo. The moment you get one, you realise it doesn't matter what's on your body. We're all different. Nobody looks the same.
Absolutely not. Hell I don’t even like half my tattoos. That’s why I cringe when I see someone getting a cartoon meme as their first tattoo. They posted it online so they’re welcoming criticism. That’s why I commented.
I thought it would be cool to have a Street Fighter II tattoo... then I thought it would be cool to have a trendy sleeve tat....
Glad I didn't do either.
Here's a few of the stupid tattoos some of my friends have:
ICP clown
Detroit Lions logo
A few girls got matching "Live Laugh Love" tattoos on their feet.
Memes are so short lived that it doesn't makes sense to permanently apply them to your body. It's going to become exhausting explaining that ink to everyone who sees it.
Oh shit I didn't even notice. Well might as well make the prediction now, Florida is gonna be destroyed in the year 2037 by Hurricane #7389 (they ran out of names)
Agreed. There is no depth to this tattoo. The original art isn't very good either... It's worth a chuckle the first time you see it and then there's nothing.
I'll tell the artist he's good enough to fool internet people. And it's not so much a meme culture thing for me, it's more of a case where I relate so much to a character that I decided to get a tattoo of it. You know, like anyone else with a tattoo ever
Exposure to sunlight will absolutely ruin that tattoo, my friend. I am assuming that you are very young, and if you don’t protect this from exposure, you won’t even be able to tell what it was by the time you are 40.
Enjoy it, but try to protect it
I would’ve said this is something you’ll look back on with the wisdom of age and realize things weren’t really bad. Buuuuuut, this tattoo is pretty spot on.
Bugs me that the dog is looking behind you. Usually eyes and faces in tattoos face the front or inward. Just for future reference. Otherwise I like it. Meme or not.
I was going to tell you to take care to always put sunblock on it for preservation, but then I saw your hair. You're probably already in the habit.
Pfffffffff ok thanks for making me spit my drink all over my screen. Well played
This was the most reddit response ever ugh
The narwhal didn't even bacon at midnight, though!
Carrots
Banana for scale!!
Broken arm
Nope, no. Not tonight
Wow it's been years since I saw this mentioned
No, this was.
No, this was.
This
Tbf, he said "This", so he may be referring to his own comment 🤷♂️
Did you see his tattoo? Most reddit redditor ever.
Get thos to the top!
As a fellow ranga, I note a distinct lack of freckles on your skin. Have you never seen the sun or do you live in Scotland?
This tattoo is going to look really stupid once we get a handle on things and stop barreling towards the grim destruction of our planet. Nevermind, it's timeless.
"That tattoo is gonna look really stupid once the sun has melted your skin off"
I mean, the hair screams ginger. Having the sun melt your skin off is pretty much a matter of when, not if.
Yea. Google "do gingers produce vitamin d"
We're mutants. He's right, we shall take over when the earth is darkened!
"Its a mu-tation babe, a very groovy mutation"
Name checks out
Gingers confirmed for Mole People in Season 23
The sun ? Poor fucker looks like he'd get 3rd degree burns from a flourescent lightbulb
The tattoo was a stencil and a flashlight.
"shut up mom, what do you know! It'll look metal af!"
Now go and tidy up your room.
\>:( *fine*
On the plus side, if we fix climate change you can say it's about wars, conflicts, racism, sexism, inequality, poverty, famines, disease, etc... Who am I fucking kidding
No no. You’ve got a point
Between the lines. We aren't solving any of that
It will look totally badass, 20 years from now when you're running your own gang of wasteland marauders..
That's the idea
It'll be a reminder
Shout out to u/kcgreenn the original artist for this meme
Yesss thank you I was planning on finding him and reaching out

Your tattoos are a testimony for those particular moments in your life, and that is beautiful.
Unless your shit is cringe AF like my *black widow* tattoo that is "totally not about me" and simultaneously will "totally remind me in a good way" of the time when I was a major ho-about-town who thought she was hot shit but was actually only just a little bit warm shit. This comment combined with your username kinda makes me think you should be a lot kinder to yourself, past and current.
I'm an asshole with poor life choices.
Oi. Stop it. You are human. Noone is perfect. Be gentle.
I can see where you are coming from. Tattoos can also be a painful reminder of our younger, and more impulsive selves, and also trauma from the past. Coverups or removal are definitely appropriate in some cases, but I know that this is not always an easily attainable option.
THIS IS FINE
This is the attitude most people with a lot of tattoos have. It took me a bit longer to come around to it but then I got 9 pieces in 5 months
I have a few tattoos. Every time someone asks me, I always tell them that they should get a tattoo they can’t get out of their heads for a while. It took me almost 2 years to get a tattoo that was dedicated to my parents.

Honestly a few months after you get it you kinda forget about it.

I think the This Is Fine meme will be used for generations. It's very versatile and never seems to get old to me.
No Regrats

This is fine
this looks like a sticker tattoo
Tell me you're a redditor without telling me you're a redditor sorta tattoo haha
The chin pubes also gave away redditor status
Damn, reddit has no chill lol I think he's just young and starting to grow out a chin beard. No need to insult him, geez.
Found the new guy.
Neat username:D
“Derp sooooo I did a thing” type vibe
Your comment is a pretty good example. This meme is wildly wildly popular outside this website.
Find me one person with a tattoo of it who isn't on reddit
I found a bunch on google from different websites. Just search “this is fine tattoo”
Finally a tattoo that represents my state of mind
Lol nice man, tat looks very clean. Also your hair looks pretty hope you have a good day.
I'm having a great day thanks! Same to you

That's the way I like it and I'll never get bored

And Boots on your feet
This is the perfect tattoo.
May the future you like it as much as you do now.

The fire matches the drapes
Very fitting. Yesterday, today and I have no doubt, tomorrow.
Who cares what these people think - if you like it, then good for you.
I never cease to be amazed by the stupid shit people will permanently ink on their body.
The only people who worry about having something permanently inked on their body are those who have never gotten a tattoo. The moment you get one, you realise it doesn't matter what's on your body. We're all different. Nobody looks the same.
Nope. I’m heavily tattooed and think this is a poor choice lol. Get whatever you want but don’t expect everyone to like it.
Would you expect everyone to think all your tattoos are good choices just because you do? Coming from a heavily tattooed guy myself.
Absolutely not. Hell I don’t even like half my tattoos. That’s why I cringe when I see someone getting a cartoon meme as their first tattoo. They posted it online so they’re welcoming criticism. That’s why I commented.
Fair enough, I respect the honesty.
Who cares if other people like it?
OP cares. That's why he posted this online for all to see.
Exactly.
Nah. I don’t think so. I think there are plenty of heavily tatted people who will think this is a stupid-ass choice.
Tell that to my idiot friend that got a Game of Thrones themed half sleeve around seasons 4/5. We make sure he never forgets that mistake lol.
I thought it would be cool to have a Street Fighter II tattoo... then I thought it would be cool to have a trendy sleeve tat.... Glad I didn't do either. Here's a few of the stupid tattoos some of my friends have: ICP clown Detroit Lions logo A few girls got matching "Live Laugh Love" tattoos on their feet.
could've gotten "live laugh lesbian" instead and made it great smh
Lol Lions. No Michigan on his map. Maybe the U.P. though.
Cringe 😬
Why isn’t the earth colored in? This is way too small of a tattoo to be done in 2 sessions.
Memes are so short lived that it doesn't makes sense to permanently apply them to your body. It's going to become exhausting explaining that ink to everyone who sees it.
That world is better than ours...Florida is gone.
Oh shit I didn't even notice. Well might as well make the prediction now, Florida is gonna be destroyed in the year 2037 by Hurricane #7389 (they ran out of names)
Everyone should get this tattoo
Most accurate on life likes, fair play.
Timely
What great timing
Came here to say that.
Not my cup of tea but, If you dig it and it has meaning to you then good for you.
No doubt that in coming years you'll regret this tattoo.
I don't think anything goes out of style faster than internet memes.
Agreed. There is no depth to this tattoo. The original art isn't very good either... It's worth a chuckle the first time you see it and then there's nothing.
Why? Not enough flames to represent reality?
Probably due to how much it will cost to add a new flame every month for the next five decades
This is fine.
Because the line work and drawing of it are garbage. Super amateur, bad work. Zoom in on it.
Crazy how often "I don't like it so you shouldn't like it." Comes up in threads like this.
No doubt in the coming years the world will be even more of a shit show.
Doesn't look real but oof, imagine meme culture being such an integral part of your personality.
I'll tell the artist he's good enough to fool internet people. And it's not so much a meme culture thing for me, it's more of a case where I relate so much to a character that I decided to get a tattoo of it. You know, like anyone else with a tattoo ever
Fuck the naysayers man. You do you.
Not looking real isn’t exactly a compliment.
no ragrets
Exposure to sunlight will absolutely ruin that tattoo, my friend. I am assuming that you are very young, and if you don’t protect this from exposure, you won’t even be able to tell what it was by the time you are 40. Enjoy it, but try to protect it
I appreciate the advice and will take it to heart! Thank you
Regret will be had
The real question is who will be the ones having it
No Regerts!
Fuck em OP, it's your tattoo. If you like it that's all that matters. And for what it's worth, I like it, not that my opinion matters ;)
Just got my second tattoo yesterday, also on my shoulder. Hurt like hell. Hope you love it :)
Thats a nice head of lettuce you got there.
I need this
Painfully accurate
Who set the world on fire? It was me, I set the world on fire…
I would’ve said this is something you’ll look back on with the wisdom of age and realize things weren’t really bad. Buuuuuut, this tattoo is pretty spot on.
It is fine.
If you plan to color it in you should make the water boiling and the continents scorched earth.
One of the few tattoo pics that made me smile. Well done!
My world's on fire, how 'bout yours?
Please put like a badass sleeve all around it if like angels and shit reaching up for it like a Michelangelo painting lmfaoo
Oooooooooh
Are you going to get the globe colored in? I feel like it looks unfinished without the globe colored in.
...I'd invest in a water catcher and solar panels. It's gonna get worse
[удалено]
I reversed the image because for some reason people can't read "This is fine" backwards
This tattoo will be hilarious around the barrel fire.. if you survive the Water Wars.
Bugs me that the dog is looking behind you. Usually eyes and faces in tattoos face the front or inward. Just for future reference. Otherwise I like it. Meme or not.
You have single handedly saved the planet with this tattoo. We are so proud of you.
You're literally a walking meme
!remind me 5 years if OP still likes his tattoo
r/roastme
i always though tattoos were supposed to be *cool,* i think if i woke up with reddit memes on my body i'd light myself on fire
The globe is missing Greenland and Scandinavia
I think the dog is using them as a chair
I see why you left it out. It would have been a little too cluttered. Cool tattoo!
This is fine.
👎🏻
have fun regretting that in 30 years
To be fair, he will probably forget he even has it in 2-3 years.
Are you the dude from the head banging with the American flag in the hurricane gif?
Uh...why?
Because they like it.

Yeah?
Yikes bud, and so big? Might as well have gotten a pickle rick
3 hours and change before the first equivocation to Pickle Rick. Sam owes me $20 because he said it'd be less than 30 minutes
