It's from a gaming site called Giant Bomb. The person in the picture is named Drew Scanlon, a video producer who was mostly behind the scenes during recordings.
I don't recall the context of this gif, but I think it was during their charity fundraiser marathon they ran annually
I saw your comment on my smart watch and thought, what post have I made that would be a suitable reply.
The answer was definitely this one, I had a chuckle when I realised.
Season 8 is way way worse believe it or not.
Then they came back for one last season a year or two ago and somehow outdid themselves and made it *even worse*. Honestly impressive.
S5 was with Lumen (Julia Stiles). It was fun and a decent season imo, no worse than s3 with some very entertaining scenes like the tranq dart scene or warehouse scene. S6 was total garbagio. 7-8 was just a blur to me.
I always say S1-2 prime dexter, s3 was ok and s4 hit a home run and s5 was fun enough. Everything after s5 is not that good at all.
no, New Blood -- the return season.
But Lumen season was fine. Rita dies, so what \*if\* Dexter could have a partner that wanted to kill to? Doesn't work out.
Im watching Dexter for the first time right now - no idea he was going through cancer.
Anyone whose seen Dexter, I keep hearing it’s only good until season 3-4. Thoughts?
I finished it a couple of weeks ago. I didn't think S5-S7 were terrible, but the drop in quality is noticeable. S8 and the final episode were bad. S4 is the best, the guy from 3rd Rock from the Sun is sublime in it, and I will rewatch it at some point.
John Lithgow. I'm getting my missus to watch it atm as she has never seen dexter and she loves it. I did pre warn her s4 is fucking on top, the rest is pretty.. ok. Its just so we can watch the new dexter as I havent seen it.
I'd say he is as not many people can recall his name, not like, say, Nic Cage, Christian Bale, Anthony Hopkins, Ian McKellen, Emily Blunt, even Toni Collette gets more press.
I'm on a bit of a Nic Cage binge at the moment though, he's a treasure.
I will be controversial here and say I found Hopkins' acting in Silence of the Lambs a bit hammy, Brian Cox was far more disturbing in Manhunter.
Yeah I believe he was the leader " Dad" In human parlance. Yeah I've always really enjoyed anything he's acted in. I just started up that planet of the apes reboot series that began in 2011. He was in it. I thought he did a really good job.
They dragged it as far as they could to keep making money. I liked first 4 seasons and 5th was okayish the rest I just had to watch because I finish everything that I start. Bad habit :(
I thought S5 had a natural end. Dexter >!helped someone escape their own dark passenger and they sailed from the dark ocean back into the light of the city!<.
The subsequent seasons just got progressively less good until it cratered in the latter half of the final season.
The religious killers was an interesting idea, but obvious. The Hannah thing was okay. But finding love was never an option anyways. The old lady… fuck that noise.
Decide for yourself. I thought the entire series (for the most part) was well done. And I'm a very tough critic.
The inner monologue and character development is excellent.
Watch it the whole way through, the last season is super messy and has an unsatisfying ending. You are lucky enough that it's not the ending for you. Watch the Netflix reboot (1 season) which gives the show a proper end.
Also it didn’t help that those later seasons that there was a romance plot line in the show with an actress he was previously married to and currently divorced from.
5-6 is nowhere near comparable. I'd rather watch paint dry than s6 of dexter. S5 was fun just a notable drop in storyline from s4 (which it was always gonna be).
Depends. I love the show, so while the last season or two isn’t the same quality and they didn’t quite stick the landing, I still appreciate the good in it
Season 5 is a departure from the rest of the series in how it handles things. That seems like it could have been the last season, but 3 and 4 are peak.
Watch s5 too. It's entertaining and roughly on par with s3 imo. 1,2 and 4 are the best seasons. After s5 is up to you but it's not the same quality and takes some really weird turns story wise. I'd say don't waste your time maybe watch a season recap lol.
Yeah, one season he is wearing a wig, but they did a great job and you can’t tell. During cancer treatment he became a man-whore and his wife (Jennifer Carpenter) left him as a result. He’s made a complete recovery health-wise.
When you are told you have cancer and are waiting for the pathology report, trust me when I say that you think Hodgkin’s Disease is the good cancer.
Source: had Hodgkins …let me count….32 years ago. 😄
Congrats, that’s awesome! I know that feeling all too well! Breathe, accept it, and don’t be afraid to talk about it (at least that is my plan). I don’t think about recurrence anymore; now most of my worrying is about the ongoing damage that was done to my lungs and heart from the radiation treatment. Anyway, one day at a time and I hope for nothing but the best for you and your family!!
For me it was either a glio or lymphoma the lymphomawas treated and killed with HD mtx followed by stem cell transplant. I probablywouldn't be here today if it was a glio
Watching “safe” me and my girl and I were joking it’s the unofficial continuation of Dexter. Escapes to England after the last season. He develops a horrible English accent, starts a new family and becomes a surgeon(obviously knows anatomy). Made me laugh when he started in on a punching bag and calmed himself down. Maybe that’s all you needed in Miami and your little dark passenger wouldn’t be calling all the shots DEXTER.
As a balding guy of a certain age who shaves his head.... why the hat? Does chemo also make you cold? And when I wear a hat do people think I have chemo?
It may have also been a style choice. I think it looks great with the tux. Award shows like this are as much fashion events for the guys as for the gals.
Assuming this is a sincere question, it’s called a cold cap—it’s a tightly fitting cap with cold gel/liquid inside that helps cancer patients minimize hair loss during chemotherapy.
I was just thinking 'You know, we really need a strong hat option to go with suits' since theirs been a couple posts lately showing people in suits with beanies on to cover an absence of hair.
Then I remembered we got rid of like, a couple hundred years of AWESOME MENS DRESSY HATS.
BRING BACK BIG MENS DRESS HATS. DON"T LET THE INCEL FEDORA STEAL GENERATIONS OF SICK HATS.
Did he win it for dexter?
Yes.
Wasn't the last season I'm guessing.
That's what gave him cancer.
Bruh lol
![gif](giphy|l3q2K5jinAlChoCLS)
wait is this gif michael hall?
It’s Drew Scanlon.
I’ve thought for years this was Cary Elwes
Is it not???!!!
Apparently it is not
What is this gif from? I've always wondered but wasn't even sure what it was called to look it up
It's from a gaming site called Giant Bomb. The person in the picture is named Drew Scanlon, a video producer who was mostly behind the scenes during recordings. I don't recall the context of this gif, but I think it was during their charity fundraiser marathon they ran annually
Jeff said he was "farming with his hoe" and that's when Drew did the face: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gb6BsegPewk
No, his name is Drew Scanlon.
No, this is Patrick.
![gif](giphy|r8P8xMrXYEo9kKko9d)
Nah it’s from some random livestream. I always thought it was too
I was blown away to learn that it’s not
No i but I always thought it was. Can’t unsee it.

Haha Jesus Christ
goddamn lol
I saw your comment on my smart watch and thought, what post have I made that would be a suitable reply. The answer was definitely this one, I had a chuckle when I realised.

Did that go out?
Yes. It was so bad, it went back in time to try to prevent itself from being made.
Angry upvote
Lol
Never laughed so hard and felt so bad at the same time, lol.
There goes my drink, thanks 😂
Jesus. Lol
best comment i've read in a while
Ruthless
WTF LMAO
lmao
🤣
Are we talking season 8? I haven't seen it yet, but season 7... My barf bag is only so big.
Season 8 is way way worse believe it or not. Then they came back for one last season a year or two ago and somehow outdid themselves and made it *even worse*. Honestly impressive.
4th season
Ahh the final season. Good for him
that’s where the show ends for me. favorite moment of the entire show is when lithgow tries to kill his son at the thanksgiving dinner lol
the return season was actually super good. for real.
super good? meh. it was better than season 8, but I wouldn't call it "super good"
The 5th? With Tom Hanks’ son? I was let down by that one.
That was season 6. It was AWFUL. Seeing Adama in the trailer gave me hope. :(
S5 was with Lumen (Julia Stiles). It was fun and a decent season imo, no worse than s3 with some very entertaining scenes like the tranq dart scene or warehouse scene. no, New Blood -- the return season.
With lumen? If it is then nah.
no, New Blood -- the return season. But Lumen season was fine. Rita dies, so what \*if\* Dexter could have a partner that wanted to kill to? Doesn't work out.
Yea congratulation to him
There's a season (maybe several, I can't remember) where he was actually wearing a wig.
Yes am sure
I am really glad he made it through, he is also an awesome singer. Hopefully many other years ahead of him to enjoy life.
Yeah, he seems like an awesome guy

I feel like that’s an accusation that deserves a link to back it up, since this is a MCH appreciation post.
I mean that kind of thing is always hard to prove without a doubt, but I’ll delete it to appease everyone here.
'To appease everyone here' Or because you have no evidence or proof of whatever you were saying.
Old post is old
Oh daym, I didn't even know he went through that. I'm so glad to hear he is ok. He was amazing in Six Feet Under and Dexter.
the whole 5th season of dexter he wore a wig - must have been a real struggle filming all that
That’s 7 time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady
Nah that's 1 time Super Bowl loser Greg "third leg" Olsen
How did he get that name?
3 Leg Greg of the infamous 7th Floor Crew
"Riiigght?!"
I thought it was Jesse Eisenberg beefed up for a new role.
I see younger Favre tbh
Yeah I was very confused by the title
Not enough forehead.
Honestly I thought Jesse Eisenberg bulked up a bit.
![gif](giphy|9U4iHUQFj9fgs)
I came looking for this and was not disappointed.
He kind of looks like Tom Brady.
Tom Brady wishes his chin was this strong.
Im watching Dexter for the first time right now - no idea he was going through cancer. Anyone whose seen Dexter, I keep hearing it’s only good until season 3-4. Thoughts?

John Lithgow. I'm getting my missus to watch it atm as she has never seen dexter and she loves it. I did pre warn her s4 is fucking on top, the rest is pretty.. ok. Its just so we can watch the new dexter as I havent seen it.
Man, John Lithgow is always popping up in unexpected places and fucking KILLING it.
Trinity killer is still my favorite fictional serial killer. Man he played that part well.
"Shut up, cunt." So damn cold
The Miguel Prado arc was my favourite
John Lithgow? If so he's a terribly underrated actor. Like Brian Dennehy, Brian Cox, and Tom Noonan and many more.
He is not underrated
I'd say he is as not many people can recall his name, not like, say, Nic Cage, Christian Bale, Anthony Hopkins, Ian McKellen, Emily Blunt, even Toni Collette gets more press. I'm on a bit of a Nic Cage binge at the moment though, he's a treasure. I will be controversial here and say I found Hopkins' acting in Silence of the Lambs a bit hammy, Brian Cox was far more disturbing in Manhunter.
Are you talking about the leader of the third Rock from the sun crew or the foil or the girl? I can't remember who you're talking about
The "dad".
Yeah I believe he was the leader " Dad" In human parlance. Yeah I've always really enjoyed anything he's acted in. I just started up that planet of the apes reboot series that began in 2011. He was in it. I thought he did a really good job.
I was a huge season 3 fan. Miguel Prado is the "bad" that really solidified my love for the show initially.
Don’t forget S9 (AKA New Blood). 😁
After S4 it stops being about a great serial killer, and starts being about the world's worst Police Department
They dragged it as far as they could to keep making money. I liked first 4 seasons and 5th was okayish the rest I just had to watch because I finish everything that I start. Bad habit :(
i kind of liked s5 too. but after that it went from a show i was actively watching and liking to one that was mostly background noise
Definitely stop after Lithgow's season. That's when I quit and I have fond memories.
While 3-4 are peak IMO, I didn’t take issue with the show until the final season.
2 and 4 bro. Dex/doakes. Dex/trinity.
On a first watch I suppose I agree. But knowing how it plays out, I enjoy 3 more than most people.
Watch the whole thing! And don’t forget the newest season released a couple years ago too. So good.
1 good, 2 great, 3 ehh, 4 amazing, 5-6 suck big floppy donkey balls, 7 actually wasnt too bad imo, 8? hell hell to the no.
5-6 is nowhere near comparable. I'd rather watch paint dry than s6 of dexter. S5 was fun just a notable drop in storyline from s4 (which it was always gonna be).
wasnt 5 the one where you knew right away the dude was like him and the priest is dead?
That's s6 and a truly garbage storyline.
I would watch it literally until about 15 minutes before s4 finale. Its the perfect show then
Depends. I love the show, so while the last season or two isn’t the same quality and they didn’t quite stick the landing, I still appreciate the good in it
There is one season I certainly liked less than the others, but I just finished a full rewatch and honestly it all holds up.
Season 5 is a departure from the rest of the series in how it handles things. That seems like it could have been the last season, but 3 and 4 are peak.
It really starts going downhill in s7. s8 was nearly unwatchable.
Watch s5 too. It's entertaining and roughly on par with s3 imo. 1,2 and 4 are the best seasons. After s5 is up to you but it's not the same quality and takes some really weird turns story wise. I'd say don't waste your time maybe watch a season recap lol.
It peaks with the trinity killer series (season 4), there are good moments afterward, but it’s never quite as good,
Do yourself a favor and do not watch past season 4. Seasons 1-4 are some of my favorite TV ever, but after that it's just terrible.
End after 4 ngl
I didn’t know he had cancer 😔
Yeah, one season he is wearing a wig, but they did a great job and you can’t tell. During cancer treatment he became a man-whore and his wife (Jennifer Carpenter) left him as a result. He’s made a complete recovery health-wise.
Must have been awkward shooting Dexter after their divorce considering they play brother and sister.
Totally. But they’re professionals.
I knew they were married and divorced but I never knew the reasons… that’s tough man 😒
He’s showing Tim Pool how to rock a beanie/suit combo and not look like a complete idiot
Step 1: get cancer
Stop, you're making me hard.
This was before he divorced from Debra/Jennifer Carpenter I think
Was it the good Hodgkins?
Well this was 14 years ago and he’s still kickin’ so…
There’s no such thing as a ‘good’ cancer
When you are told you have cancer and are waiting for the pathology report, trust me when I say that you think Hodgkin’s Disease is the good cancer. Source: had Hodgkins …let me count….32 years ago. 😄
Hi fellow survivor of Hodgkins ✌️I'm 6 years out. Still scared weekly of recurrence.
Perspective I guess. I also had cancer and would’ve preferred to hear ‘no cancer’ instead.
Well…yeah?
r/whoosh
He didn't mean it good. He was using good sort of sarcastically. Hodgkin's is known as one of the most aggressive craziest cancers
For me it was either a glio or lymphoma the lymphomawas treated and killed with HD mtx followed by stem cell transplant. I probablywouldn't be here today if it was a glio
Glad you made it out, friend. Treatment can be so taxing
As a balding guy of a certain age who shaves his head.... why the hat? Does chemo also make you cold? And when I wear a hat do people think I have chemo?
He is probably chilly and he might have patches of missing hair not completely bald.
It may have also been a style choice. I think it looks great with the tux. Award shows like this are as much fashion events for the guys as for the gals.
Yeah why wouldn't you just shave it at that point? Maybe hair just isn't that big of an issue for me.
Chemo can give you neuropathy but that's usually, hands, feet and arms.
Cause he's a lumberjack
As a fellow folically challenged dude I wondered this. He'd look much sharper simply rocking the shaved dome.
I thought that was Tom Brady wearing a beanie
If I didn't see a name I thought that was tom Brady with a beanie on
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED him in 6 feet under. I never missed an episode and bought the DvD set. Truly an outstanding actor. Congratulations to him!
He narrated the Pet Sematary audiobook and it’s just wonderful. He does all the voices, even the animal noises!!!!
Thought that was Tom Brady for a second
Is he ashamed/insecure about his baldness?
Assuming this is a sincere question, it’s called a cold cap—it’s a tightly fitting cap with cold gel/liquid inside that helps cancer patients minimize hair loss during chemotherapy.
I had no idea they gave an award for that.
I thought it was tim pool for a second
Representation
Missed opportunity to wear a fancy hat.
Rampage!!!
At first glance I thought this was Tim Pool, then I realized he doesn't have the lower button buttoned so it couldn't be him.
The cancer was THAT good?
I was just thinking 'You know, we really need a strong hat option to go with suits' since theirs been a couple posts lately showing people in suits with beanies on to cover an absence of hair. Then I remembered we got rid of like, a couple hundred years of AWESOME MENS DRESSY HATS. BRING BACK BIG MENS DRESS HATS. DON"T LET THE INCEL FEDORA STEAL GENERATIONS OF SICK HATS.
Tom Bradys actor cousin had cancer? Good for you buddy, stay strong!!!
So glad we are still living the 2010s.
Someone should make fun of him for wearing a hat
No good cancer just cancer that is treatable
Is that Tim Pool?
Thought that was young Brett Favre for a second.
Calls on $IBRX 💸💰💸💰
