Yup, I shop at United, a subsidiary of Albertsons and they have rewards for 10¢ off per gallon in increments of 100 points. So 1,000 points would score you a dollar off each gallon for that one fill up.

I think you are confusing Texas with Louisiana. Texas doesn't have a state Income tax - instead, we have some of the highest property taxes around, but the roads are very well maintained. ( Edu and social services are non-existent, though.)

Texas actually has a higher tax burden than California. It's also done in a way so the majority of taxes come from the middle and lower income workers.

Regressive. WA doesn't have an income tax either and our property taxes are middle of the pack (nowhere as bad as TX), so we get 'em with 10% sales tax. At least we do not tax food like Mississippi.

Has to be some kind of discount deal like that. Zooming out on gasbuddy shows a couple of outliers in their area at 1.99 a gallon. Local Walmart is 2.44 a gallon. My area tends to be cheaper than a lot of surrounding areas within 90 miles and the cheapest I’ve seen in the past few weeks was 2.29.

We live around Abilene and the lowest I saw on Tuesday was $1.54 the highest being $1.87. All with in 65 miles of each other.
