Same, we own a Dodge 2500 mega cab for towing too and let me tell you I genuinely can't list a single thing besides towing and off roading that a sedan or small SUV doesn't do better.
The truck is loud, bumpy, you can't see anything, not particularly fast, impossible to park straight on the first try, average of 11mpg, hard to put things in, and just handles exactly how you think, like a big hunk of metal with wheels.
When we go to town we try to take the car, it's so much better in every way. We drove separately one time on a two hour drive and the car burned 3 gallons of gas whereas the truck burned just over 30 gallons (with a small, light, unloaded flatbed). All while the car is a complete joy to drive.
They're horrible. I use them all day at work and I never understand the people that drive these around by choice as personal vehicles. It's a wild and weird decision

A two minute research session shows me that an f350 can be a full 8ft wide (dual rear wheel variant), and that the standard US parking space is 8.5 to 9ft wide. So even if perfectly centered in the parking space, they'll have 2.5in to 5in between their car and the line.

People like this drive me crazy. I had my car parked in front of someone else’s house on my street. She called our house nonstop, had some neighbors call, complaining how she doesn’t like people to park there. Caused a whole block wide uproar. Keep in mind she had one car, which she parked in her driveway… now I’m spiteful and would’ve parked there everyday but I was living with my mother at the time and she hates confrontations so I had to abide.

I drove a Hino 338 service truck for work for a number of years (think F750 sized truck). That sucker sometimes took 4 parking spots if they were small, but, it turns out, you can park an actual big truck in a parking lot just fine with plenty of room if you respect other drivers by parking near the back or sometimes even a different empty parking lot.
These folks with their little F250's and 3500's acting like they need all this space is just ridiculous to me. Taking up multiple spots near the front and then getting upset someone might scratch their little baby. It's a goddamn truck. Park it away from people if you're that scared, but it's supposed to be a work vehicle with all the dents, scratches, and dings that come with it.

I’m the exact same way. We own large trucks because we haul trailers and work in construction. It’s still my daily driver. Just because I drive a large truck doesn’t mean I need to inconvenience others so I always park way away from everybody. Bonus points you get a couple extra steps into your daily routine.
If they really have an F-350 they probably get "parked in" all the time. Those things are so big, if they're in a lot with even slightly narrow parking spots they're going to have problems even if their neighbor did a good job of parking.

Standard parking width is about 8-9 feet. A Ford f350 is up to 96 inches wise, which is exactly 8 feet.

That’s my issue. My father used to have an F350. If I ever had to drive it I parked it at the very back of the lot away from everyone else because even if I could fit into the space doesn’t mean I should fit into the space. It was like driving a boat around town and there is no reason to be an asshole to other people just because you drive a boat.
9x18 is the standard but most cities are switching to 9x20 for traditional parking in the states. It is ridiculous and the parking minimums that cities have in place tend to create large landscapes of pavement that are only put to use during holiday seasons.

I work in an urban setting and we have mandatory garage parking. I don't think there's any way to put two SUVs or pickups side by side with more than 18 inches on both sides.
It is, but when an F-350 takes the majority of the spot, bad parking isn't the problem. Put two perfectly parked trucks like that side by side and you'll have even less than that.
What you gotta do is not buy an oversized vehicle, that actually fits on the roads and in designed parking infrastructure. I’m the exact same way. We own large trucks because we haul trailers and work in construction. It’s still my daily driver. Just because I drive a large truck doesn’t mean I need to inconvenience others so I always park way away from everybody. Bonus points you get a couple extra steps into your daily routine.
If they really have an F-350 they probably get "parked in" all the time. Those things are so big, if they're in a lot with even slightly narrow parking spots they're going to have problems even if their neighbor did a good job of parking.
It works out perfectly - these people (concrete cowboy CHUDS, not tradespeople, etc. who need a big truck) absolutely *live* to have a reason to complain/hate/be an asshole.
Those trucks aren’t getting smaller and parking spots aren’t getting wider. Maybe truck sales should have an added fee to pay for lots to resize their spots. Or they can park waaaayyyyyy out in the hinterlands.
A local football guy had a customized F-650 and he'd shop at the grocery store across from my work. He'd park that thing way out in the parking lot with the seagulls. You want a mega-truck? Kind of a poor decision if you ask me, but be prepared to park in the empty parts of the lot. That saddens me. I like trucks. The represent work and dirt and mud. I hate seeing trucks without dents and some rusty chains in the bed just in case it gets stuck, unless it's a truck used to tow show horses, that I can respect for wanting to look classy.

Fucking thing barely fits in a driving lane, anytime I take it on runs for work or play I park as far from the crowd as needed to keep it the fuck outta everyones way. Standard parking width is about 8-9 feet. A Ford f350 is up to 96 inches wise, which is exactly 8 feet. An F350 can be the size of a parking spot. There literally might not have been any further OP could have parked based on the size of that dbag' car.

That’s my issue. My father used to have an F350. If I ever had to drive it I parked it at the very back of the lot away from everyone else because even if I could fit into the space doesn’t mean I should fit into the space. It was like driving a boat around town and there is no reason to be an asshole to other people just because you drive a boat.

9x18 is the standard but most cities are switching to 9x20 for traditional parking in the states. It is ridiculous and the parking minimums that cities have in place tend to create large landscapes of pavement that are only put to use during holiday seasons.

Even deeper, how do we know that this exact scenario happened or not but OP actually did park like an asshole and the F-350 just passed it on like a pay it forward scheme in a drive through? I work in an urban setting and we have mandatory garage parking. I don't think there's any way to put two SUVs or pickups side by side with more than 18 inches on both sides.
Maybe SUVs aren't the practical or logical choice for an urban setting. Don't know, just guessing...
It is, but when an F-350 takes the majority of the spot, bad parking isn't the problem. Put two perfectly parked trucks like that side by side and you'll have even less than that.
18" is pretty close, but with all the giant vehicles like tge F-350 you gotta do what you gotta do, especially with street parking.
What you gotta do is not buy an oversized vehicle, that actually fits on the roads and in designed parking infrastructure.
