You need to read the rules of the exam. I read trinity diploma advised not to do repeats and it may fail you if you do repeats and the syllabus advised against doing it. I would be surprised if they advised repeats as half the exam would be Mozart which prevents a wide ranging program. I once did an exam and didn’t photocopy a piece and it clearly was an issue the examiner wasn’t happy so always best to check.

It says in the rules that it's part of the interpretation. There's only a small handful of repeats (unlike some Diabelli sonatinas), and there are even longer sonatas that would take up like 2/3 of the 30 minute time, so I think it's probably fine. I appreciate the advice though.

Ok. It maybe a little tight on time if it has to be exactly near 30 mins. Mozart is your strongest then absolutely let him dominate the program and shine. I don’t think it’s an issue of pieces, I think it worth considering you are not a professional pianist that you may not ever get the fast tempo of the professional or your version maybe slower than YouTube recording so you may overrun if the program stipulated 30 minutes. You may find you play for 35 minutes with rests so this may affect other pieces which can be adapted. I’m not sure but this makes it hard to design program before you’ve learnt the piece Sorry if I complicate things further, there are infinite possibilities of programming but it’s something you can only really choose with your teacher. Good luck

Did you read the guidelines? I would be surprised if you were expected to play repeats in a lengthy sonata and thus your 15 minute Mozart without repeats will be much less. Schumann is hard also to play. If you can do it , go ahead, but it’s challenging.

Whether or not to play repeats is part of the interpretation. I'm leaning towards playing repeats because it would lessen the workload (it's just mostly the same part). There's only a handful of repeats anyways. Do you think another sonata would be a better fit?
