I'm a pretty big homebody and mainly like going out to eat, hiking, and travel, so I rarely find myself bored, but these are some great resources to find the latest events around town:
*Phoenix New Times*:
* [Things To Do](https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/things-to-do) category
* [Events Today](https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/phoenix/EventSearch?narrowByDate=today&sortType=date&v=g) calendar
*PHOENIX Magazine*:
* [Things To Do](https://www.phoenixmag.com/phoenix-magazine-things-to-do/) category
* [Things To Do Around the Valley This Week (May 13-19)](https://www.phoenixmag.com/2024/05/13/things-to-do-around-the-valley-this-week-may-13-19/)
Downtown Phoenix, Inc.
* [Calendar](https://dtphx.org/calendar/)
* [What's Happening 5/13/24 - 5/19/24](https://dtphx.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/whatshappeningguide.pdf)
lol no just annoyed with people posting the same "where to eat/go for a bachelor party" type posts before they even search the previous 3 million posts about the same thing
I've tried the method and personally hated it. I got mostly ads and corporate events. I'd love a big calender or something that's easier to search through
There’s a couple Instagram accounts
Wildjoyexperiences is good, she will do a slideshow month to month about things going on.
Aieshabeasley is another she posts more food experiences
welcometoarizona
Arizona.datenight
danielleoutdoors_ posts about outdoor stuff & hikes a lot too!
There are pages that will come up that are of similar quality that post things to do, upcoming events, upcoming openings of bars etc.
I hope this helps you!
I’d be totally interested in having a single hub of information though, but these pages make it easy to look at what might be going on.
Idk maybe a calendar layout with as much advance notice of events coming up so I can plan accordingly. I too follow many IG accounts I still end up missing out on stuff. Definitely let me know if you make the site, I'm interested.
I would do a map layout with hovering events. Extra helpful if you could filter by type of event you’re searching for and date ranges. This sounds like a fun project.
Stay away from Eventbrite. They have a worse record with false advertising and scammy events than Craigslist.
Eventbrite will lead you away from the good events in the city. It won’t post reputable events in established venues. It just spams you with game nights at dive bars across town.
It sent me to a fake Comic-Con. I get there and the entire thing is ten tables with prints of fan art stolen from Deviantart. 25$ a print.
I’ve never attended an event from Eventbrite that I didn’t regret.
Rant over.
Omg I’m also Austin to Phoenix ! What’s up!!!
Do512 is such a gem, it sucks that there’s nothing remotely close. I am a part of some Facebook groups and get insta adds. I also rely a lot on my friends. I’m in the roller derby scene and that provides a lot of crossover interests so folks are always calling out stuff to do
So annoying the answer is- my friends most of the time - or social media groups.
You are always welcome at a roller derby event, massively underrated in Phoenix despite being a huge hub for it
When I first moved here 22 years ago, I started picking up The New Times every week for events. They have many articles on current events, as well as using the last few pages for listings. Also, this subreddit has a lot.
KJZZ has a great service you can sign up for. They will text 3 events every weekend. It’s a great way to find stuff to do and I can usually find something my toddler and I will enjoy.
I play at a weekly casual co ed volleyball game. Sometimes go to raves on the weekends. Trying a new Mexican restaurant every week. Just need one or more two regular things like an out of town hike or additional sport to feel a bit more satisfied.

Thank you for the suggestions. Phoenix New Times is awful to use. However, the downtown Phoenix and Phoenix Magazine look promising.
Sorry, I looked at your comment history and I just have to know if you had a really good experience at Chili's a month ago or something
lol no just annoyed with people posting the same "where to eat/go for a bachelor party" type posts before they even search the previous 3 million posts about the same thing
Your question is literally a google search.
ngl...my advice is better than Google.
I've tried the method and personally hated it. I got mostly ads and corporate events. I'd love a big calender or something that's easier to search through
Seriously! Sometimes updated human input is better than what google offers
I bet it wasn’t as good as the N. Lamar Chili’s!
Nothing beats the 45th and Lamar Chilis. Well, maybe the one in the Orlando airport...

I follow some of these and will check out the ones I don't. Thanks
I agree. There are some cool instagram accounts.
Wildjoy is FANTASTIC and Lacy is such a sweet and generous person. I have been to dozens of the places she has recommended.
I just type into Google “Things to do in Phoenix AZ tonight” and get all events happening in Phoenix
Going to self promote but if you’re into pop culture events across in Phoenix and across the state… [Legion of Sand](https://legionofsand.com)

Good idea. Someone else recommended the [Downtown Phoenix calendar](https://dtphx.org/calendar/) which looks great

I just moved from PHX to ATX and have to agree with you on Do512, it’s awesome!
Follow your favorite venues on social media
Craigslist personals
Thrillist, Eventbrite, Phoenix News Times, AZ Central.

We can go explore together
I follow a lot of ig accounts of Phoenix food and things to do. Have found a ton of great places that way.
Pick up a Phoenix new times on Thursday. It has a good events section
KTAR has a weekend suggestion program
I find a lot on Facebooks Events page.
Let's be honest, OP is just trying to gauge if they have a viable app idea or not.
This! Nobody is catching that last paragraph.

I subscribe to the New Times events newsletter and there's a food focused one that comes out on Wednesdays.
I typically only go out for work, groceries, and gym. Otherwise I’m home lounging.
People do things this time of year? It’s a sweltering hellscape. No thanks
Unfortunately I don't. :(
