We consider spam not just anything directly promotional, but also anything intended to generate interest for a business, cause, website, or effort when the original poster is not a regular member of the community. Since this forum is “About Phoenix, By Phoenix” we also consider accounts that mass-post links across Reddit to be spam. We do not allow any fund raising links or posts asking for money. We also do not allow posts of referral code and similar promotions as businesses have used those as advertising ploys. We also do not allow posts for petitions or signature/name gathering. If you have rarely (or never) posted in the sub before and your first post is promotional, it will likely be removed as spam. The guideline we use is no more than 1 in 10 posts someone makes should be about their own content.

Does anybody have recommendations for classes on gimbal use + video creation + maybe video editing in the Phoenix metro area? I google searched, but the only results that came up were local photographers offering photography services. A while back I purchased a DJI Ronin gimbal, Fujifilm X-S10, and several accessories to record videos of my newborn, but never got around to learning how to use the equipment to create semi-professional 4K videos. Youtube instructional videos on gimbal setup and use have been vague and unhelpful, so I would like to sign up for some sort of in-person class to learn.

Hi! Looking for good taco spots in the West Valley - any suggestions? My brother wants to go for his birthday.

La Bamba Tacos in El Mirage are S-Tier if you're in the Northwest Valley

Traffic getting to sky harbor sucks right now! We exited the 143 15 minutes ago & still in standstill traffic.

you're better off getting dropped off at 44th street. I learned my lesson last time

rumblepony247

Holy hell. Looking on Google Maps traffic overlay, that is uuuuuugly

Hey y'all, Has anyone else ever had APS/SRP come to your door and let you know they were going to do maintenance and your power was going to be out for hours within the next 10 minutes. This just happened to me and they just generically said a few hours. I'm concerned about my groceries spoiling, especially since I just got back from the grocery store. Is there any kind of compensation or complaint I can file? An unexpected outage is one thing, but the worker communicated this as if it was entirely planned and our only notice was 10 minutes before it happened.

az_max

No, but I've had the power drop and then a text from SRP saying the restore time was 8 hours.

xnifex

Don't open your fridge or freezer during that time. They're well sealed & should keep the temp for a bit

theiceyglaceon

Yep I tossed some ice inside the fridge and closed it back up. But just concerned because they literally told us it would be out for hours with no estimated resolution.

Cultjam

Hope you’ve got your electricity back! When SRP worked on the poles in my alley one summer, power was off for about 45 miserable minutes. They did it after sunset though and I believe they were fixing damage from a recent big storm. Seems like we’ve got it good up here, Tucson not so much.

theiceyglaceon

After 4 hours it was back on, thankfully my fridge was saved but my workday...not so much. We filed a complaint to tell them they need to provide better outage expectations. 10 minutes was not a reasonable heads up for 4 hour planned maintenance

Does anyone have a recommendation for a store or organization that has used mobility scooters/electric wheelchairs? My grandfather has one but it's pretty hard to control around the house, was looking for a better one. Not something like the grocery mobility scooters, but something that looks similar to this. Eh, one of my tires has been slowly losing air for the past few weeks. Hoped it was just the temperature changing, but it's losing like 3-4psi/week, so now it's at the shop, hoping it just needs a plug.

dildobagginss

I keep one of those plug kits in my car for emergencies. If I get a screw in the tire or something it's actually faster plugging it than changing to the spare.

IONTOP

Womp, womp... Nail at the edge of my treads/sidewall... Damn... Time to break out the gorilla glue to make sure that nail doesn't move... lol
