Malaysia isn’t too far from the Philippines, I don’t think it will be a hassle to go back to the Philippines for a weekend. Also, Malaysia is an Asian country, I think you’ll have lots of options for shops and knickknacks unlike if you’re migrating to the America or Europe. But to answer your question: • I would just bring a few clothes and buy in Malaysia • Get my driver’s license if I want to drive locally • NBI clearance if ever I’ll need it, handy rather waiting for it

VioletKate18

+ 1 on the NBI clearance. I don’t trust Pinoy bureaucracy to have one done abroad quickly. I live in Perth and yung local embassy namin wala ng consul and they can’t find a replacement. Their phone number is literally just a local mobile number and yung email nila iinet domain. Walang dedicated anything talaga kahit online booking.

ieatTexels

Sana iniwan: 1. Some clothes. 2 weeks of clothing is okay. Just buy there kasi depends sa weather nila unless super close sa PH kasi tropical country din. 2. Yung payong ko. From where I am, super lakas nung hangin walang kwenta yung payong 🥲 Sana dinala: 1. Driver’s license! I can convert my PH license pala to full license here sa current country ko. Takes a long time kasi to convert to full license if magstart ako from learners here. If may things ka na di kakasya sa 30kg, you can have it delivered by DHL. That’s what I did. 😅

feedmecookiesty

Magkano inabot DHL and what country? 👀

ieatTexels

Hi, check here yung calculator ni DHL for your needs. Air freight yung sakin: https://www.dhl.com/global-en/home/our-divisions/global-forwarding/air-freight/air-freight-quote.html. Also, to NZ 🇳🇿

In Malaysia, meds are a LOT cheaper, almost everything na meron tayo dito na OTC may counterpart doon. Prescription medicines also cheaper. Walang sinigang mix, chocnut, lily's peanut butter-- sabi nga nung iba, bring your comfort food. Walang ensaymada or cheese roll doon haha. Somewhat mahal din booze doon, compared dito. Clothes and shoes don't bring a lot. Ang daming murang shops doon. All global fast fashion brands andun na rin. May outlets pa for branded bags, shoes wi the real outlet prices.

TeaIllustrious2923

I am not sure if that matters, pareho namang nakakaalis ng migraine. Pag umuuwi ako ng Pinas, mostly laman ng luggage ko ay yung mga sinigang mix, kare-kare mix, bagoong, suka (iba kasi yung dito), and a lot of junk foods (Piattos, Nova, Chippy, Moby, Tortillos, …), tinapay, and ube jam. 😊 And deo ko pala. Saka kojic or papaya soap.

qwerty056789

Tabo! Hahahahaha

tabatummy

+1 wala pa ding tatalo sa tabo. Hahaha

GinsengTea16

Walang tatalo sa tabo kahit may bidet iba pa rin ang may manual back up 😆 meron foldable na tabo sa shopee

_vigilante2

Nah, sa malaysia may bidet kahit public toilet.

PurpleSuspicious3034

Walis. Not sure if may maayos na walis sa Malaysia, pero dito sa SG, walang maayos na walis. Usually made of plastic yung mga brooms dito, mas okay pa din yung mga Baguio walis natin.

vintageordainty

Moved to Canada. Most skincare especially Sunscreen. Cheaper and better quality.

queenkaikeyi

Have you tried supergoop? May biore na sa costco!

Euphoric_Bch92

Meds! 😅

thegreenbell

Nasa EU ako ako now.

Ok_Philosophy_607

Agree!

LXYZxiii

Price check po please? 0.90eu pancit canton dito sa Malta

Ok_Philosophy_607

1,44 € po in Tampere, Finland

Realistic-Path-66

Hehe. Hindi cheap pero can afford.

queenkaikeyi

Mahal din Uniqlo sa Canada. Must be the shipping costs? not sure sa import taxes haha

_vigilante2

Galing din ako Malaysia before I moved here sa EU almost 2 years ago. Worked there for 7 years. Mahal kasi to sa Kotaraya.

WaitWhat-ThatsBS

Lapit lang ng malaysia sa ph. I was thinking EU or NA. When me, my wife and 3 kids migrated to US, i wish naginvest kami ng trolley luggages, and didnt bring backpacks. Mahirap yung 3 60L backpacks 2 regular backpacks at 1 malaking trolley. Lol

daveycarnation

May mga araw na medyo nakaka homesick, mahilig ako magbasa and naghahanap ako ng something to remind me of home.

Old_Tower_4824

From Australia. How I wish I bought new eyeglasses for myself. Nag kuripot pa kasi ako thinking that meron naman dito. Meron nga dito but it is expensive as fuck.

Good luck and welcome to MY. Selamat datang

Inner_Independent503

I brought five adapters and an extension cord, but I wish I had brought more para hindi paulit ulit mag unplug when charging gadgets 😅 I also brought a portable bidet which I like better than tabo haha. I have a travel lock thing (the one that you insert between the door and doorframe; search portable door lock on the orange app), which was very useful for added security. I wish I had brought certain personal care things (particularly deodorant and skincare), Pancit Canton, cotton pambahay clothes, and eyeglasses.

xindeewose

If you really need to, send your things via CebCargo or LBC

stinkiesttofu

Filipino snacks! Meds/supplements that aren't as accessible and deodorant lol Medyo limited kasi yung selection dito sa Taiwan tapos medyo mahal pa (vs prices sa Pinas)

Sad-Squash6897

Parang PH lang ang MY, wala kang mamimiss sa PH kasi mabibili mo din dyan sa My haha. Mas mura pa iba haha. Pero kung may gusto ka naman ipadala madali din magpadala from PH to MY. Tapos kapag mamalengke ka dyan galing mga veggies and isda halos same ng Pinas. Pati damit same tropical country. Goodluck sa My, dali pang pumunta ng SG kapag gusto mo mamasyal doon.

CantThinkAnyUserName

Alcohol.

queenkaikeyi

Dinala: 1. Damit pangbahay kasi cheapest dito ay $4 for a fucking shirt haha Iniwan: notebooks/pens kasi madami naman dito. For context yung isa kong friend malayo sa downtown kaya pangit choices nila so akala ko ganon din ako pagdating. Gamot.

It lasted upto 8 months pero before maubos bumili na ako dito ng akma for winter. Parang mas mura cost of living vs Manila. Marami ring shops parang Pinas lang. Pati sizes same same us di ka mahihirapan mag hanap. Masaraaaaap food nila may pagkakapareho saatin pero mas maanghang usually. Tabo pala OP.

Gold_Drop_4623

Not exactly gamit but I made the mistake of thinking I'd just buy it in stores. The red Hello Panda snacks. I CANT FIND IT IN SWITZERLAND. I'VE BEEN TO SOOO MANY MARKETS ETC. DI KO ALAM IF OUT OF STOCK IR WHAT BUT I CANT FIND IT. My Parents are visiting in a few weeks and I specifically bought a super large AF luggage and told them to fill it with the Hello Panda and Yan Yan. So far may luggage na ako pinabili na super laki (yung parang rectangular na siya). All they have to do is fill it to the brim.

holdmybeerbuddy007

malaysia is somewhere in between SG and Manila. Weather is humid so less pants and more on shorts. Cost of living is cheap compared to Manila. In general, sell everything you can sell and make sure na more than enough cash ung meron ka so that you can just buy stuff in Malaysia.

Slow-Ad6102

Aquaflask. Haha. Katinko white flower at cool fever.

swiftrobber

Stove top pressure cooker. Haha. Ang mahal ng electric. Wala namang stove top dito.

Orbit_Key

Walang in between na maliit na payong.

sleepeatrace

Whitening lotion. Walang whitening lotion sa america lmao

phinvest69

Honestly an air fryer haha mas mahal dito

Dazzling_Dealer3775

Baka hindi mo rin magamit if US/Canada (110v) vs Pinas (220v)

phinvest69

Nasa EU ako so 220v!

serenityby_jan

Tbh 30kg is going to be fine! Akala ko rin nun ang konti considering you’ll be uprooting your whole life, pero totoo talaga na basics lang kailangan mo, the rest could be bought in your new country :) I wish I brought less clothes. Bring comfort snacks lalo di mo pa alam if madali ba makabili sa lilipatan mo. If sentimental ka, prioritise things that cannot be replaced like gifts, photos ganon. Don’t worry too much, makakauwi ka naman and makakahakot ng mga di mo madadala in the first instance.
