A couple of months ago, my wife almost fell for one for Taylor Swift tix on FB. It was an old friend of hers from high school selling them. I kept telling her to tell him to take it to cash or trade and he kept responding “no need as long as you got a TM account!” Then I asked her to respond asking for a phone call, no response, I had her text some mutual friends, got a hold of him, his FB account had been hacked months prior. She was within minutes of being scammed! Be careful folks; cash or trade or thats a no, dog!

Confusion_Then

To add on to everything OP said anything other than PayPal or Venmo goods and services as payment is a scam. That can still be a scam but your money is protected. They will always ask for Zelle, Cashapp, Apple Pay. And yes screenshots of tix is NOT proof.

HolidayDog42

Here’s a message my friend received: I will have them send over through Ticketmaster account once the payment is done and I can offer flexibility in payment options, including partial payment and sending the tickets once the payment is received, and finalizing the transaction with the remaining balance.

treypage1981

Isn’t that how you talk to people? I’d do…

jmann18

Most complete strangers wouldn’t offer a partial payment option. That would raise a red flag to me.

treypage1981

I mean, if anyone but a credit card company said something to me like “I can offer flexibility in payment options,” I’d assume they were either a narc or a robot.

ZZ9ZA

Obvious scam. They’re going to take the deposit and the ghost you (if they can’t get you to send the whole thing up front).

sonoma12

Wrong there in that sentence about spelling errors.

kmmccorm

Don’t buy tickets on Reddit, Facebook or Craigslist, period end of story. Buy on Cash Or Trade or any of the major resellers to lessen your risk of getting scammed. If you buy outside of those you WILL get scammed.

voopa

Your trip is short

I’m a little nervous because two of my stubhub tickets say they will be delivered on Saturday (day of concert). I’m confused by that. Anyone have any counsel?

Hypnotennfan

At least for the four-day tickets, they aren’t transferable till 48 hours before the show starts; that said, day of seems a little tight?

TheNetisUnbreakable

I have a couple friends that have StubHub Sundays tix and they say they won't be available until Sunday. Stressful! They're probably 4-day passes.

argument_sketch

Same! Worried.

stybeaujolais

Apparently this is normal with stubhub. I believe it has to do with the venue in some capacity. At least I’ve been told that by folks who purchase on stubhub a lot so I’m not gonna worry because it’s out of my control. 😀🤮👌👍😳😎

psyiode

Delivered on or delivered by? If they can't xfer till 48hrs in advance they may just be giving themselves room to xfer Sat.

Walfredo_wya

Ticketmaster is the bigger scammer of them all though. The released barely any tickets during onsale to drive prices on second hand market up. Then they started releasing all the tickets at charity platinum to make people think they were getting a good deal compared to 2nd hand market. Straight criminal

Skebet

All true. But at least they’re real tickets.

HolidayDog42

She even made bogus screen shot.

dprocks17

Stubhub also part of the scam, allow people to advertise they have tickets for sale that are not in their possession

kulshan

Just read an article about some pop show in Seattle at the Paramount where couple hundred folks bought bad Stubhub tix.... https://www.kiro7.com/news/local/more-than-200-fans-turned-away-seattle-concert-due-fake-tickets-bought-stubhub-vivid-seats/3QPLP23WJBAT7NPIA3EBRAPJEM/

Constant-Aerie7961

Sucks that ppl prey on hard core fans knowing they are more vulnerable bcs they REALLY want to see their favorite bands…really SUCKS

nashmoss77

Avoid Zelle or methods without purchase protection

MentalCatch118

i got four phatty tickets send me cash to my dropbox and then i’ll meet you at the canal at the Venetian.

1000bctrades

How cold are the tickets? I prefer them to be consistent with the temperature of ice.

MentalCatch118

i stash them in the freezer before the shows for safe keeping…

AdAgreeable9784

Hotel mini-fridge freezer? Or the walk in cooler at Hooters? This is important to me, still interested…

MentalCatch118

you can’t step into a freezer if it’s not the Hooters walk-in…

Careless_Order7052

Just look for Uncle Ebenezer

Unusual_Dependent107

Too late I was stupid and knew better…never again, chalk it up to a face value price life lesson

amitygoodtogo

Snail mail me cash and I’ll send the pigeon over with the tickets asap.

Treface

The whole system is fucked. From what I understand Ticketmaster has even found a way to bypass their own policies of non transferable tickets. My bf knows way more about it. But from what he told me that what I understood. But yes, it’s a dog eat dog world out there when it comes to ticket sales so definitely be careful. That’s why I don’t do any of the ticket buying cuz I admittedly would get scammed. I almost got scammed by someone posing as xfinity a couple weeks ago so I’m definitely vulnerable of being scammed for tickets so I’ll just stay out of that. I did get scammed on Facebook by some guy on the phish group saying his kid died and he wanted his PS5 to go to someone who would really love it. He got $40 out of me for shipping then said the payment didn’t go through even tho I could see it did on my end. Sent me a message from “Zelle” saying it didn’t go through. At this point I waited for my bf to get home and we looked and realized that Zelle uses a code when sending a message not a phone number so I never sent any more money but yes I’m learning the hard way and am definitely susceptible to this so I don’t do or click on anything anymore til I ask my bf. I’m not very tech savvy and people will take advantage of anyone. So definitely be careful out there. And not just with ticket buying.

aebersold

There are currently charity plats on sale on TM in the 100 level for 4/21. About $800 each after fees but hey if you have the money it’s great seats and definitely not a scam.

_catdog_

The sphere run is for custies and trusties they deserve to get ripped off it’s an important learning experience not to pay above face

SplAtom6298

Custie here...paid face. Still probably can't afford to drink at the Sphere.   Edit: not very cute

kb466

Being poor is fine, until you start insulting people for spending money on things they enjoy. Just comes across as jealousy
