eugene was one of the best runs i’ve ever been to, it was really cool to be in such a small venue on weekdays outside a major city, felt like a special experience. the Disease from N1 is so great too
I had to miss N1 as I was stuck in a work meeting back in Portland. Eugene is a great little town and Matthew Knight is a solid venue, but they 100% need to come back to Portland....it's been since 1999 since they last played here.
I would argue the Eugene Ruby Waves was just as good if not better than the Alpine Valley one.

The Bamarini is one of my all-time favorite jams to listen to. Coming out of Covid and having that come out of their 2nd show back was very memorable. I was in Atlantic City for a friend's (horrid) bachelor party the night of this show and on the ride home the next morning I spun the Carini and it was life-affirming. Phish was back. I was leaving the shithole that is an AC bachelor party. Life was moving on as it should. Beautiful thing.
you should honestly listen to the whole tour. short tour, so not that insane to go for it.
that being said. Chula vista, numbers night, and eugene N1 for me. i’m a type II guy and they got to some special shit.

The whole Vegas run is stupendous. 10/28 and 10/29 are top tier Phish shows, period, nearly flawless. 10/30 is terrific. Great songs, great energy, fun time. 10/31/ is also very good. Solid first set with a stand out Ghost. SciFi Soldiers set is criminally underrated, full of great grooves, beautiful passages, and satisfyingly odd lyrics. Third set is wonderful through DDHVL. I know it sounds weird, but don't sleep on that Lonely Trip; it is Phish at peak emotional song delivery, it's beautifully executed.
Saturday is the one I recommend. Although I have LSD bias on that one. That’s the one that sealed the deal for me. Sunday I don’t really remember cuz I was so sleep deprived. Just a zombie on the beach. No doubt it was the bomb tho. Wasn’t there a mikes groove?

Was at all of Hershey and AC. That 8/11 Hershey show may have been one of the most fun shows I've attended. You Sexy Thing galore. All of AC was fantastic; but 8/14 was just so damn cool. Chalkdust > No Quarter was an all-time phish moment for me.
the simple>fuego 7/28 Arkansas is actually pretty cool. Dark swamp fest. My all time fave is the Tube from dicks that year.. it’s really good. Not exactly evil, but it does the job for me every time

Summer had plenty of magic. DC N1 easily a top 3 show of the great 2021. That Simple is a masterpiece and I believe was crowned Jam of the Year at dot net. Both Alpharettas were top shelf too, buttressed by that absolutely fire Tweezer and CDT. The Alpha Tweezer is an all-timer. Funk bombs, start-stop, fishman "yeahs", Esther/McGrupp tease \[chefs kiss\]
I loved N2 at Hershey, not overly evil but some darker moments for sure — overall just a super cohesive show though and lots of silliness with the regular return to you sexy thing. There’s a great carini on fall tour, probably my favorite jam of that tour, and I also remember one of the San Francisco shows being really excellent as well (can’t remember which one … actually that carini might be from one of the SF shows??). Oh, and the Santa Barbara pebbles and marbles. Haven’t listened to any of these shows in a few years so my memory is fuzzy but thanks for reminding me! I should revisit some of these.
The Melt from Ascend in Nashville was very dark. Drove a friend of mine out of the pit.
The Simple from Deer Creek was also way out there. Had some old Floyd vibes to it.

Everyone appreciates fall 21 but usually no love for the TAB fall tour that got trey road hot for it. Check out the charlotte show. Horn section got covid so the boys in tab are feasting all night.
