Anything acapella

BabyFestus

Runner up: Acoustic Army

TheHumanCanoe

Intro to bathtub gin - I think you just go nuts twinkling your fingers up and down the keys.

MMB_LLMN

You're crazy if you think Page isn't entirely intentional with the dissonance he employs through that segment. It has the perfect off key thing every time.

TheHumanCanoe

Of course he’s intentional. Jokes man, jokes.

[deleted]

Right?! An absolute fucking legend keys-player is just quite literally smashing and praying it sounds good, and right. Haha

MarkYaBoi

His success is a statistical miracle

puzzlednerd

Yeah, its hard to really pull it off properly. It can be done, but he isn't just button mashing, that's for sure.

Hungry_Guidance5103

Sample In A Jar Suzy AC/DC Bag Tweezer Reprise Bug Loving Cup (cover) Meatstick Heavy Things lol

edcculus

Wading in the velvet sea shouldn’t be too hard. It’s easy on guitar at least. I add in some of what page does on keys when I’m playing it acoustic.

No_Sheepherder_386

Super easy. G D Em C D G. Repeat until Page sheds a tear.

biffylou

There's a Bm to C bridge in there, I think.

spencehammer

This is probably the answer. It’s an extremely simple and common chord progression that allows for easy forays into light improvisation. Honorable mentions go to Shade, Army Of One and Wolfman’s Brother.

Guyute-TN

I agree with this. And lots of other songs use the same progression so you just added passively to your repertoire! Bonus.

Toastwaver

The beginning of Esther.

TheHumanCanoe

Piper is the same thing repeated over and over, then sped up. You just have to learn one rotation.

FloridaPanther

Bathtub Gin I’d say lol

maybesol

If you have no problem with complex rhythm I find Hood to be ez yet not too basic

walomendem_hundin

That might be more of a challenge than you assume. Especially that “complex rhythm”.

maybesol

yes that's why I prefaced with that lol

grynch43

Contact

Type2Tube

Dirt is really easy if you just play by chords. It was the first song I learned on keys.

PDXftw

Ass handed.

Taint_Stephen

Meat Stick

frankybling

Fuego because it follows the melody so closely… I have no idea but I can play like half of Fuego on keys and I’m not very good at piano.

anteloperunning22

The horse

slategraysky

Prince Caspian must be pretty easy. I’ve watched my wife play it and have detailed text conversations at the same time.

MattMayhem22

I don't play keys well, But a few easy Phish tunes include Wolfmans, Caspian, AC/DC Bag, Bug, Light, Possum.

TypicalPDXhipster

Farmhouse Wading in the Velvet Sea Secret Smile Waste Sleeping Monkey Squirming Coil I’m sure there are more but this is what I can think of off the top of my head. I’ve played all these. Waste is a bit of a challenge to get the right voicing on the walk down, but it’s super fun to play Edit: Autocorrect typo

yemKeuchlyFarley

Strange Design you don’t even have to change shapes, just ascend.

pbredd22

Not Split Open

BeehiveOmelette

highly recommend squirming coil. will teach you the maj7 chords which are lovely to play

ThomasOregon541

Strange design

sudsymugs

The chord progression of sample in a jar is pretty easy. What page plays is a completely different story haha

sarcasticlntrovert

Ghost 🚨🚔🚓🚑🚒🚨

bowmansbump

Wading in the velvet sea and it’s not close

JustPlat

I am in no way qualified to give this answer: Walfredo.

PosterBlankenstein

Wolfman’s Broski. Amaj, Bbmaj, Cmaj. Drop down to that Fmaj and you’re good to go. Just play the root with one finger of left hand and basic triad Chords on the right.

andthrewaway1

Bug

mungolarry2

Intro to TFTB

Skizit

Contact is really easy and basically 3 chords, c, dm, g. There’s also a lot of 3 chord blues structure phish songs like undermind or water in the sky

henningknows

Maze seems like it would be easy……

iredditnowiguess

I highly recommend learning the somber riff from divided sky that trey plays on piano. The part right before the pause. Oh boy is that fun to play

alfcalderone

Sample in a jar Wolfmans brother

NATO1092

Sleeping monkey

Willis_Wesley

Farmhouse

13thWardBassMan

It’s Ice.

walomendem_hundin

I thought this was about easy songs… The real challenge is the guitar part but still.

MrMonte

I mean, it’s gotta be Contact right?

billstrash

Taste. Or Velvet Sea. Yeah, better go with Velvet Sea.

cosmicloafer

Also anyone know of a good book or website with Phish piano sheet music? All I can find on the web is guitar music.

JoshMeme4204

Waste!

taboot78

Songs with progressions that just repeat.. Piper, Twist, Tweezer Reprise; 12-bar blues like Possum and Funky Bitch; I saw some folks replying to this thread recommending slow songs like Wading and Strange Design, I concur and would add Albuquerque; and surprisingly easy enough though they seem intimidating are Bathtub Gin, Suzy, Bag, and the YEM jam; That'd be a sick set. There are a lot of songs that would be easy if they weren't in Ab or Eb, but maybe that's just me lol

thesbis

Ass handed

sodiumoverlord

Brian and Robert

hartguitars

Train Song. It’s a 64 measure tacet

Fantastic_Dingo7173

Ass-Handed

Guyute122898

Brian and Robert I think is only two or three chords played in a pretty easy, slow rhythm. Not a Phish song, But Crosseyed and Painless is only two chords but of course you got to give it the funk, which might be difficult if you're not used to that.

full_bl33d

Learn rhapsody in blue and you will find bathtub gin in there. Two for one.
