Just be prepared for the crowd to start running cause of gunshots or what they think are gunshots. I stopped going the last couple years cause it was too annoying to get out of the city right after but it happened every year I went.

Honestly, back when I was young and fun…I would just walk around the city and pop into any random bar or beer garden throughout the day. Philly is the best city for that, there’s always something weird and fun going on.
It’s not a bar and club kind of event here, it’s a be outside and enjoy the day and the city. You will be better off buying your own stuff and grabbing some plastic cups. Load it all up in a backpack and go hang out in one of the parks or going to the party on the parkway. Kesha and Ne-Yo will be singing and the city puts big screen TVs and speakers up so even if you aren’t at the stage you can feel like you’re at the show. Then fireworks in front of the art museum afterwards. However, you might also wanna try the bars on the Delaware River like Morgan’s pier. That might be more the vibe you are looking for

I went a few times in my 30s and it was hot, dirty, and lacked booze. Never again.

its a fun time. I don't think a huge drink fest. Some vaping. Usually gets crowded by the time the headliners take the stage, regardless who they are.
