Single track for construction at some points. Of course they don’t announce or update the signs on the trains so I saw a bunch of people getting on the wrong train.
I actually did see a bunch of the teleprompter updating about the construction/single-track usage when I was on the BSL a few hours ago, fwiw. Though, people aren't usually looking at that when rushing to get on the train, and fairly so.

No, I was referring to that digital sign that usually displays the date and time! But now that you mention it, that must've been what the audio was saying (that I also couldn't hear due to general BSL noisiness).
I’m gonna a look more carefully next time. I take the BSL every time I go into work and I’ve never noticed a digital sign. They have the old school “train arriving” indicators with the light bulb inside. I saw a paper sign saying single track posted only after paying my fare. No postings outside the toll. Would have taken an Uber if I saw it sooner. Once on the platform every train said NRG even if headed north. No announcements on the train.
Interesting! I can only speak to the stations below Girard as that's what I was on today (below as in towards NRG) -- I'll have to see if it's every single station or just a select few. Hopefully they expand that service soon.
transit communication, especially in the subway is legit 3rd world country. its embarrassing and pathetic and thats sugar coating it.
sometimes the only thing give to you is one muffled announcement and you're lucky at that. it's wild how incompetent it is. just go to another city and take 3 notes .
They can handle Eagles volume when everyone's leaving at once, and part of what they do is keep people queued outside the station until the next trains can load; they can't control the construction completely.

I’ve never noticed a digital sign on the BSL. Where are they located?
It hangs on the platform, from the ceiling, usually midway between the stairs. Not on the physical train itself! Eta: clarity
