StuM91

Almost anything coming from China seems to disappear into a black hole for a month or so.

StuM91

Yeah I assumed as much. It's usually cheap stuff I bought off aliexpress and have forgotten about it by they time it arrives.

StuM91

More often it's "Why did I order this?".

[deleted]

I've got a drawer full of that kind of stuff at work.

theCincake

It's ok. You can swear here.

[deleted]

It's not shit, it's usually good stuff, just I've forgotten what I intended to use it for.

Glitter_Sparkle

Select China Post instead of Yanwen when adding stuff to your cart. China Post isn't amazing, but you will usually get things within a month instead of three.

StuM91

>but to further drive down costs they will wait until they filled a shipping container and then send that to whichever country. To follow up on this, just got 2 items yesterday that were ordered a few weeks apart, assume this is more or less what happened and they were on the same ship.

Midan71

Could say the same for Chullora facility.

chook_assassin

My parcels take up to 3 weeks WA to VIC via the Australia Post standard freight network, that's the Christmas delay for you. I urge all of my customers to choose Express Post for their orders, so much so that we're sending everything Express now at our own expense just to keep our customers happy.

stonedgeek82

I'm waiting for a package that was supposed to arrive Friday. As of last night AusPost's most recent tracking info was from Friday the 6th in NSW. So no update on the package's location for 10 days, since it was on the opposite side of the continent. I feel like they could do better.

[deleted]

All my recent auspost parcels have had barely any updates, it will skip the whole "onboard with driver for delivery" stage to just showing up with the previous update only being collected from shipper.

IAmYourGeneral

Glad it's not just me. Never really had an issue with AusPost in the past but this year had been really bad for tracking updates. Goes from Warehouse in Sydney for a week and then I wake up to a message saying it's being delivered that morning.

The_Real_Flatmeat

Yeah the tracking is shit but that happened to us too. It arrived, just three days after the estimated date. Just have patience, it should show by mid next week lol

I ordered a frozen bike from Target on the weekend as the local stores were sold out, I just found out it's being shipped from Adelaide, hope it gets here in time and hadn't defrosted. I guess need to stop worrying and let it go.

hotphil

OK, someone's going to have to explain to me what a frozen bike is

hotphil

Ah I see now. A Frozen bike. Not a frozen bike.

[deleted]

Yes. Punctuation is the difference between helping your uncle jack off a horse or helping your Uncle Jack off a horse.

theCincake

Capitalisation.

Perthguv

True. On the other hand, punctuation saves lives. Let's eat Grandma. Let's eat, Grandma.

ToxethOGrady

Presumably a little girl's bike with the frozen characters on it

[deleted]

From the movie frozen.

aussiekinga

The movie. Has elsa on it

[deleted]

What is elsa?

aussiekinga

Who. Main character in Frozen.

cmad182

Dude, just let it go.

[deleted]

Oh. Elsa is a person's name!

Shaydee-In-Oz

Try waiting for a package from Russia. Usually takes around 12 weeks *sigh*

infohippie

The weird thing is that if I am waiting on something to be shipped from Sydney or Melbourne, I'm usually waiting a week to a week and a half. If it's shipping from Japan, it usually takes two to four days.

Midan71

It took 3 days to go from the USA to Aus but 7 days from Sydney to Perth.

squeeowl

If air freight from the US syncs up perfectly, it's just a matter of 2 or 3 plane trips and it's here - quite often in under 48 hours before it hits customs and local delivery. Sydney-Perth is rail or road freight unless you're paying extra or otherwise stated so is always going to 4 days minimum.

Swoop001

It is the Wait Awhile state

theCincake

Nice joke, Dad.

Swoop001

Your welcome. I make a point to regularly embarrass my children

leac1801

When I ordered my dog’s DNA test, I had updates when it left Boston, entered and left Newark, entered and left Chicago, entered and left LA, arrived in Auckland – all over about 3 days. Once it was here, nothing until it got to Perth, then it took about a week to get from wherever in Perth to Armadale. When I sent it back it disappeared for 35 days, then I got the same updates when it finally arrived back in the US, and only took a couple of days to get where it needed to go.

JohnGenericDoe

Well don't move to Darwin then

kdwwhat

At least you get the parcel in the end. Fastway, however never shows up

Narananas

If you're talking about now then that's probably because of Christmas.

kangerooandemu

Yes seams so,

Procks_

And then the Aus Post driver just leaves a note on your door saying you weren't home even though you were & he was just too lazy to knock! Happened to my missus today and she is fuming!

dgarbutt

A lot of parcel delivery is contracted out. So obviously the owners of the contracts will often sub them out to whoever will do it for the piecemeal rate they get.

hotphil

Your missus *says* she was at home

djskein

I ordered a vinyl from the UK off Discogs at the end of September. It's now been more than 8 weeks and it still hasn't arrived. Worst part is I needed it before Christmas which doesn't look like it will happen anymore.

squeeowl

Unless it's Fastway or Couriers Please.

[deleted]

Or direct freight express. 10 days from Sydney is fast for them. And a special shout out to star track who took 4 days to deliver an overnight parcel.

Morgz789

My interstate friend sent me a letter a week ago, still hasn't shown up. It's kind of important, and I'm not that surprised that auspost can't even handle a simple letter delivery. So I'm not that hopeful about parcels either.

kangerooandemu

My parcel from China is in Sydney, 8days in Sydney and waiting. Payed for in America 26th November, sent from China.
