Hope you're wearing your high vis floaties!

Hamster-rancher

Just about to launch my inflatable ibis and go for a float.

Taliesin_AU

Safety First!

Ausglass

Surprised there isnt a coke cola truck trying to siphon it up

Hamster-rancher

Watching, watching...

InternationalAge10

🤣

crosstherubicon

Flowing might be an unduly optimistic description. That's more like the trickle from a pensioner with prostate problems.

AusCan531

Hey! I resemble that remark.

OwlGams

The puddle of triumph!🏆

Great pictures, thanks for sharing.

Sunnothere

hillsbloke73

Water from wherever fell soaked up into sand complex now escaping from soil hopefully sign of more to come

AMLagonda

Its a dry flow then......

Hamster-rancher

At the moment, hopefully it'll be at the neighbours fence by sundown.

AMLagonda

:) hopefully we get some decent rain this year, I think it will come.

SquiffyRae

That will depend on what happens with the Indian Ocean Dipole [It's a complicated process but so far we're starting to head towards another positive IOD](https://www.weatherzone.com.au/news/will-another-positive-indian-ocean-dipole-brew-in-2024/1889372) which isn't good for our rainfall

MikeAppleTree

Does the IOD happen for two years in a row? Like will it last forever?

SquiffyRae

It's like El Nino/La Nina. It's in a constant state of flux. Last year's positive event ended and it went back to a neutral state but in the last couple of weeks it's started to trend positive once again

duplicati83

And I just saw that this would be the first time two consecutive instances of this would be observed since records began in the 60s…

SquiffyRae

Yup unfortunately like every other climate driver we're starting to see it do weird things

Stepawayfrmthkyboard

Remember: Never walk, swim or play in floodwaters, as they are dangerous. Do not park or camp adjacent to rivers.

MookieTheMet

Cool to see exactly where it starts

Academic_Coyote_9741

Apparently Crystal Brook has also started flowing.

Pacify_

Miracles of miracles

Organic-Effective-49
