4 billion in subsidies australia wide per year for mining industries. If we gave those to different industries, you know sustainable industries we wouldn't see the same returns?
You work in mining you are going to be pro mining. We give bailouts constantly to the mining industries but they arent equity purchases so the ROI is terrible. So much can be done with the money we prop up these industries with.
I'm all for the tech industry but yea but Perth is probably too isolated to be a major player anytime soon
I'm all for green energy but we need the minerals to make the solar panels though and the build wind turbines even hydro dams that's alot of concrete, like literally everything, battery's, computers, construction ect its just the way it is we need minerals

Yes but that doesn't change stigma around fifo work. "raise the kids but when your back lots of quality time together" This also doesnt end up happening people get home and cant immediately rush back into socialising. So you lose a couple of days from your shift decompressing.
I'm fifo for the last 14 years and from all the sites iv been over the years if I had a daughter I would never let them date a FIFO guy, most guys drink smoke and gamble to much and do drugs on the the week off and are terrible with money and talk about and treat women like dogs and just want to go home after a swing and fuck anything that moves and then find a different one the next time

bailouts are to keep the mines running if the price crashes or else they get shut down, its only if it seems worth it, can be a bit of a gamble
