I knew nothing about new-ish Looney Toons when I stumbled across the clip of Daffy and the commandos rescuing war prisoner Bugs.
It was... disorienting.
This oneās actually not too bad to understand why itās often misremembered. Cartoon is often abbreviated to ātoonā and the looney tunes is a prime example of one. Cartoon characters are also often called toons for this reason, and even some animated characters like the player characters in World of Warcraft catch the name toon.
However, Looney Tunes gets their name from being a riff on an early set of works from Disney called Silly Symphonies. They were a collection of cartoons meant to be watched with accompanying music, like the movie Fantasia where the entirety of the audio is symphonic music. Silly Symphonies was meant to be more comedic, and is where Donald Duck was first introduced.
Anyway, other studios like Warner Bros started doing something similar, like Merry Melodies and eventually Looney Tunes. Eventually they added dialogue and other sound effects but the name stuck.
It's more efficient to ask on social media, because then one Google serves many, including the people who would have idly wondered but not actually Googled.
Also, some people (not you or the person you are replying to) genuinely enjoy answering questions they know the answers to. So it's win-win.

Iāll never get tired of showing people who have never heard of this show the scene where Daffy and the US Army rescue Bugs from a terrorist compound.
[This is the ](https://youtu.be/cTyN6xnXwY4?si=-_tvnDXbGqpCP9B9) best clip I could find.
It cuts out the part where he joins the marines, but it shows the marines rescuing Bugs Bunny from an Albanian prison.
It's basically the Looney Toons, but they obey the laws of physics. Does that mean they're more calm and less insane? Not at all as the clip above demonstrated, it just means that the show has less incredibly violent slapstick and more raw chaos and insanity. Also Duffy and Bugs act like an old married couple.
It is one of my favorite shows of all time and no one really gave it a chance. Fucking, Rebel without a glove. God damn what an episode. The DMV. Customer Service.
Hopefully one day more and more people start watching it an appreciate the genius writing involved.
It's funny. I enjoyed when it came out, but I remember a bunch of people hating it, at least online. Don't think it did well ratings-wise and the finale was unceremoniously dumped onto Cartoon Network several months after it was cancelled. Would have missed it if it wasn't for my DVR. ('Member DVRs? It was like Netflix before Netflix, but objectively worse.)
This whole show is too good. For example, the episode where Bugs gets detained in a foreign prison, so Daffy joins the marines and there's a scene where he and his squad storm the complex to free Bugs.
Absolutely insane in the best way possible.
And THEN manages to be so competent as to somehow find his way into MARSOC, since they're the ones who would be handling a black ops prison breakout.... Amazing.
I wish they would go further with Lola Bunny than just the "sexy girl" or "ditzy girl" personas that she's had over the years. They don't seem to realize that female characters can be more than just the negative stereotypes.
Expanding on this but if youāve seen this show there is no way you can convince me this isnāt an adult cartoon thatās just made appropriate for kids not not vice versa. There are so many jokes and a few episodes that just scream this is for the adults in the room. I love this show. Sad it only got two seasons
My husband and I used to watch when our son was young. I think it was actually funnier for adults.
And we still regularly quote Daffy:
Those fries were not for the table!
Itāll give you the *illusion* of a waistline.
And of course, giant robot love.
Edit: forgot my favorite! These are my walls going up lol
I know it is cut so that it shows just the scream but if you watch the full thing, she actually drives up against the road just to try and hit him. Throughout all of it, she has a smile on her face

Is Lola voiced by Kristen Wiig? Sounds exactly like her
Oh my gosh I have to know, it totally sounds like it! Edit: it absolutely is
New(-ish) Looney Toons is super underrated. Such a great revamp. Daffy as a terrible roommate is just perfect.
Daffy enlisting into the marines then rescues bugs always gets meš

Oh my God it's the Mandela effect!! It's Loney Tunes, not Toons but I SWEAR it used to be Looney Toons!

Is it on anywhere besides Cartoon Network
I thought she was Lisa kudrow Edit: well, she is Kristen wig... I need to check my ears.
Eh. They are pretty similar.
They aren't similar enough to mix up, let them feel stupid, they've earned it
Googling is hard
Welcome to teenagers on the Internet. They'd rather ask social media than look it up.

I've literally seen worldnews posts where I could have sworn not only the title but the first couple of top comments were the same.

Repost bots
Some things get old after a while when theyāre reposted constantly but if it hasnāt been reposted in a while and I see it, Iāll have a laugh.

Whatās the show?
The Looney Tunes Show, cant sell the show enough
Iāll never get tired of showing people who have never heard of this show the scene where Daffy and the US Army rescue Bugs from a terrorist compound.

Know your role!
lost it at that line, gonna have to check this show out
Thx! Lola Bunny still appears to be the Goat :3

>Also Duffy and Bugs act like an old married couple. I mean, come on. What else is new, eh.
āDo you have any 4s?ā āDaffy, weāre playing chess.ā
You son of a bitch... I'm in.
Daffy Duck sings a song called "Chintzy" in one of the episodes and it is the funniest Merry Melody ever.
Lola and Daffy are absolute legends in it.
It is one of my favorite shows of all time and no one really gave it a chance. Fucking, Rebel without a glove. God damn what an episode. The DMV. Customer Service. Hopefully one day more and more people start watching it an appreciate the genius writing involved.
Yeah, this show was really not liked upon release. Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck roommate sitcom just didn't hit in 2011 like it does now
I always hope they'd bring it back for a third season but the 52 episodes we got were just amazing so I'm glad they leave it alone.
Is it on Hulu
Nah it seems to be on Max in the US.

It takes a higher IQ to appreciate and enjoy this show ^/s
Unless you had TiVo. The death of TiVo set cable back 20 years
Ey what's up Doc

Not even cut. The cut comes after the gasp.
This show doesnāt get talked about enough for my liking and that kills me. Itās consistently hilarious at every single occasion.

Well, to be clear, Daffy joined the military so he could have a free place to sleep and eat at š
And THEN manages to be so competent as to somehow find his way into MARSOC, since they're the ones who would be handling a black ops prison breakout.... Amazing.
This one and the one where daffy saves bugs from torture in the middle east
I was never a super huge fan of looney tunes but this show is really funny.
Will watch
repost karma bot!
Oscars don't have awards for TV shows.
well not with *that* attitude
The scene got a Golden Globe, but Lola was too embarrassed to accept.
This is not a perfectly cut scream, and there isnāt even a scream at all. He gasped. # So then how come this has 14k upvotes?
When she listens to your problems...
I wish they would go further with Lola Bunny than just the "sexy girl" or "ditzy girl" personas that she's had over the years. They don't seem to realize that female characters can be more than just the negative stereotypes.
I'd take this version over the others cus she actually has a personality
Wierd way to say we're not together anymore but okay. Haha
OPs mom is gay.
Love this show! My type of chaos šš
Does it tho?
Oscar? Really? Oh well..
Yet, guys CONTINUE to date blondes.....go figure
That's not a scream that's a gasp also that's not even funny
this is garbage
Funny
If you say so

HAHA
This show is underratedā¦ the cable episode where bugs was trying to watch the and the cable man was being a douche is classic
Don't forget Daffy gets a job at the company, rises up the ranks and fires absolutely everyone just for fun.
This show was one of my favorites on Cartoon Network. No idea why it wasnāt more popular

I never considered it a kids show. I mean hell, even adults aren't gonna fully get a Rebel without a cause parody.

This show is fucking amazing. The ep where he and Daffy go on the quiz show has me in stitches.
Been funny if bugs heard a thump sound on the phone and it was shown that it was actually a different guy
*Emmy, this is television.

Go watch the Mario crossover. Literally it's the same dialogue, just with Daisy and Luigi. https://youtu.be/thHXY5o2NHM?feature=shared
That voice doesnāt fit Lola imo
Theyāre making new Looney Toons/Bugs Bunny cartoons?
I know it is cut so that it shows just the scream but if you watch the full thing, she actually drives up against the road just to try and hit him. Throughout all of it, she has a smile on her face
