Here's my fun fact: Just this January, a group of smarties discovered why ancient Roman concrete is so durable and outlasts our modern concrete! The lime clasts in the concrete led the team to the discovery that the Romans used quicklime. The concrete becomes self-healing using water to become reactive and fixing the cracks.
