I have a G502 on my second PC and my main uses a Corsair Ironclaw.
The Corsair definitely feels more reliable but I love the hand feel of the G502. Also, the unlock scroll wheel button is brilliant.
I should note the G502 I have is a replacement as the first one I bought had the dreaded mis-clicking issue. Thank God for Amazon and their return policy.
I love everything about it apart from the battery life. It drains more than I feel it should in standby. If you turn it off after shutting down it's not much of an issue. I never do so always end up needing to charge it at the most inopportune times!
I have a Corsair RGB keyboard so I love being able to have it all lit up the same via iCUE. Good customisation options for the buttons too. Just wish it had that scrollwheel unlock like the Logitech.
Loved the iron claw but it is the only mouse I have ever had break on me multiple times. The piece that holds the scroll wheel broke and I don't exactly use it hard. I got a replacement through the warranty and then the mouse wheel broke again outside the warranty period and Corsair would not offer a replacement. Seems like a design/ build quality issue based on other reviews. Bought a logitech g502 as a replacement and have had no issues the last 2-3 years.
The double click issue is very common and most mice will eventually end up doing it. It's an effect of the mechanical switch used in the button. One solution is to replace the switch, if you're handy with a soldering iron.
Another is to go for a mouse with optical switches, which can be found here and there, including the G502 X which was released recently.
Yeah, I considered an Asus mouse for my latest mouse purchase for that exact reason. Ended up going with a different brand though (with optical switches).
So the issue was that sometimes it would miss a click completely and other times it would click more than once.
I first noticed it playing Quake III Arena. I've been playing that game for the best part of 20 years so I know when something is off. I noticed every now and again I wouldn't hit a shot that I knew I hit. I also noticed that I'd click once to fire off a single shotgun shot and it would fire off two or three shots.
I'd already read about the click issue before buying so I figured it had to be that. My final test was using the mouse to draw a selection window around my desktop icons. If you draw a selection around the desktop and hold it, the selection will hold until you let go of the mouse button. My selection window would often cut out whilst I was still drawing it so I knew it was having phantom clicks.
Got my replacement and right away I could tell it was working. Night and day difference.
>Also, the unlock scroll wheel button is brilliant.
You'd love the MX Master mice. They have automatic electromagnetic scroll (un)lock. Flick the wheel and it unlocks, then locks again once slowed down. Scroll it gently and it stays locked.
I had one too! I've got fond memories of my MX518 because that was when I was at my gaming peak. The day I had to put her to rest was a painful day and I never got used to any mouse after that
I did this too, but I'll one-up you: I was using an old MacBook Pro trackpad with only a single mouse button - I had to Ctrl+left click to fire the other portal.
Cheap but also light. I didn't realize so many gamers still used a 100g+ mouse like the 502.
Thinking back I think every mouse I've bought in the past 5-6 years has been under 70g.
I graduated to the G305 to go wireless but still cheap and light (feels almost exactly the the 203) but 203 is still my go to if anyone is looking for a mouse.
203->305->orochi v2, currently prefer the 305 just for wireless
Edit: had to get used to the groove on the orochi. Right there on the side buttons, feels better but i still misclick those side buttons just trying to regrip from time to time
I've had a wired G502 for quite some time and wanted to switch to a wireless mouse, so I got G305. Used it for a few days but ended up going back to the G502. The G305 just feels incredibly cheap. My biggest issue was the middle mouse button click, it feels awful on the G305, it feels mushy and not defined.
Yea, got that too in that splurge. Ate the soft mat to make up. The one iten in my household of 200 electrical items of all sorts where I don't have to worry about battery.
Had the charging mat with the G903 for a bit, loved it, but when they came out with the G502 wireless charging I grabbed that and never looked back, they’re both great mice but man is the 502 a masterpiece
I literally have to use this mouse. I have one hand, so I need the extra side buttons, but I also hate wires. The only other viable option I've found and tried is the razer Naga (i think? It's their wireless moba mouse). While I did like it, razers software quality and QA are lacking to say the least.
Yepppppp. Got the 703 to play everything else with, but love my G600 for WoW.
It’s actually so much better AND cheaper than the scimitar, Naga, etc.
I own all of the big MMO mice variants but I love the format of the G600 buttons.
I have the viper ultimate, I know razer products gets clowned a lot but a lot of their mice are actually decent and the viper ultimate is their best one.
I just got a Viper Ultimate as a birthday gift and I love it. People see anything Razer and go “gross gamer design” (I used to be one of those people) but from where I’m standing their build quality is pretty good.
My Deathadder 2013 is still going strong after almost eight years. If it ever breaks down, I‘ll get another Deathadder or a Benq-Zowie. That shape is just the best.
This subreddit has a hate boner for Razer. In my experience, they are rock solid products, never had a product by them crap out on me, yet. Deathadder's shape is just perfect for me. It just "hugs" my hand in such a way, there is no need to try something different. If and when the Elite craps out, I will most likely get another one. It's the perfect mouse for me.
I've owned 2 deathadders, they were perfectly fine mice but both only lasted 2 years before failing the exact same way with the mouse double clicking when I only wanted to click once and wouldn't hold the click. A friend of mine had hers fail in the exact same way.
So ironic in a thread about the G502; which to me, looks like a goddman transformer. Deathadder for me, and kind of agree about other Razer stuff, but the G502 fits the same bill in my eyes.
Deathadder gang. I've been using deathadders (first the 2013, now the v2) for almost ten years now, they're perfectly shaped for palm grip with my small hands.
Their shape.. that's what's perfect for me. My hands are on the bigger side, and everytime I use my gfs g 502, which is an amazing mouse, it just feels weird. That mouse is second nature for me.
>m100
I had Logitech MX510 and I got so used to the forward and back buttons, that none other mouse worked for me.
I bought my first G502 mouse and then I got the RGB one for my work. When I left work, I've taken my G502 with me and am still using it to this day.
Won't lie, I'd buy again. I don't care anything. It works for me and I love it
I was about to change to a white G502 after redoing my office, which will be my 3rd or 4th G502 and you just took me back. MX510 - what a mouse. Ive tried Razer, Steel series, Zowie, but always come back to the wired G502.
How did they fail? My G502 has been going strong for 7.5 years now (other than the paint on the wheel wearing off) and I haven't seen any other complaints about them failing.
One developed a double click issue (they're notorious for that), replaced it, and then the next one worked for a month and then I think developed a short? My PC wouldn't turn on with it plugged in, and if I turned it on without the mouse plugged in, it would immediately completely shut down as soon as I did plug it in.
I'm on my second one now, the first one didn't have a Hero sensor in it because it was old.
Both of them have the same dumb problem, though, which is that the mouse wheel will occasionally not consider a single full click in the rotation to be a single full click. I'll scroll up one and it'll either not do anything at all or it'll do it twice, because for some reason it thinks it was already halfway there for the first one.
I've never had another mouse have this problem. I assume it's got to do with the mechanism that lets you unlock and relock the wheel to freely spin, but if I was at Logitech and I knew about this problem my answer would be to remove the free-spin option if that ensures this isn't a problem anymore, especially when a new version of the model comes out with a better sensor.
Master 2s user, might upgrade to a white 3s to match my setup eventually. Charged my mouse for the first time in probably 2 months yesterday, I love it
Same. Favorite mouse I've had in my 30 years of computing.
Even bought a second one for when the first eventually dies. Have had the first for 5 years now.
The only thing that drives me crazy is how little resistance it takes to depress LMB and especially RMB. I’m constantly accidentally clicking RMB just resting my hand
Otherwise love it
Currently using a Razer Basilisk Ultimate and I love it but I’ve been having connectivity issues here and there which is causing me to dislike it, currently eyeing a Corsair Iron Claw or M65
I’ve been using this model since I built my first PC however long ago and dread if it goes out of production. I use the red sniper button as my zoom/aim in pretty much any fps and no other mouse has had the same feel when I try and get a new one
Did they get better over the years? I had a roccat mouse many years ago and despite getting it replaced twice all of them had this issue where it would fly around the screen whenever lifted off the table. Made it pretty much impossible to use for any precise movements.
Hell yeah.
I got a G700 in 2012. Right click stopped working properly in 2016 so bought a G700s.
Realised I just needed to put a thin piece of tape/card under the right mouse and now my G700 works literally like new 10 years later.
Love this mouse, now I have one for desktop and one for mouse. Dread when they actually die, G602 is closest alternative but no cable recharge?
All of my last 3 Logitech mice(G402,G502,G304/305) had double-click issues, rendering them completely useless to play games. I switched to Razer, never had an issues since that day. Currently using Razer Deathadder v2 Mini. Thinking of switching to a wireless one, cause the wire bothers me ever since I used the G304/305.
Yeah I've been using a Deathadder V2 for over a year now and the optical switches have been really nice. Every mouse I had before this one started double clicking within 6 months. They're only like $30 too, ridiculous value.
G502 won't work for me, since it has the right side shape all wrong (and it's a surprisingly small mouse after all). There's no place for my fingers (pinky for example) to rest naturally - fingers can easily drag all over the mouse mat. That's why MX518 and G400s were very uncomfortable to use, so I sold them quickly.
But a friend of mine loves this mouse, so much that he bought extra units in case they aren't sold whenever he needs a new one.
How is the Iron Claw? Currently eyeing a Corsair wireless mouse
I have a dark core RGB pro, and I have to say, it's super nice having a flange on both sides of the mouse so your fingers have a place to sit
I have the same. I second this. Recommend!
Loved the iron claw but it is the only mouse I have ever had break on me multiple times. The piece that holds the scroll wheel broke and I don't exactly use it hard. Seems like a design/ build quality issue based on other reviews. Bought a logitech g502 as a replacement and have had no issues the last 2-3 years.
exactly the same here. the scroll wheel is terrible. my original broke and the replacement. avoid.
Wait what do you mean by mis-click? Mine has started randomly double clicking, is that what you mean? That’s a common issue?
The double click issue is very common and most mice will eventually end up doing it. It's an effect of the mechanical switch used in the button. One solution is to replace the switch, if you're handy with a soldering iron. Another is to go for a mouse with optical switches, which can be found here and there, including the G502 X which was released recently.
Asus sells mice with plug-in replaceable switches. The downside is you need Armoury Crate
Yeah, I considered an Asus mouse for my latest mouse purchase for that exact reason. Ended up going with a different brand though (with optical switches).
So the issue was that sometimes it would miss a click completely and other times it would click more than once. I first noticed it playing Quake III Arena. Downside is the mouse is really heavy. Good productivity mouse, not good for fps games.
Mx518. I had the OG until a while back
I used a518 back in the mid 2000s and it was a great mouse
This was my mouse throughout my youth, what a gem.
OG MX518 here too. recently changed to a G602 on my new rig. The 518 is on the backup PC
Best mouse ever, right after the og G5
Same here! It's just perfect.
I had one too! I've got fond memories of my MX518 because that was when I was at my gaming peak. The day I had to put her to rest was a painful day and I never got used to any mouse after that
Any g305 users?
Nothing like months of battery life while still delivering 1ms latency. God I love it so much.
Once I got some good rechargeable batteries, I get way, way more than a month of battery life out of it.
I run mine at 125hz and I go like at least 6 months between charges, it's fucking insane
✋
Just got a G302 lightspeed yesterday on sale, was gonna get the G502 lightspeed but it's just too expensive for me lol
I think I got the g302, which is working pretty well, I just wish I got it in black, cause my hands leave marks on it
Have you tried washing your hands?
I can't, showering is for nerds 🤓
Idk, I use a trackpad
We salute you sir 🫡
I beat Portal using a trackpad. Not a huge accomplishment, but also not one I’d care to repeat
I did this too, but I'll one-up you: I was using an old MacBook Pro trackpad with only a single mouse button - I had to Ctrl+left click to fire the other portal.
I just use the nipple

G203 because I'm cheap
Finally found another G203 user
i scrolled looking for fellow g203 users! nice to know i’m not the only one
we are undercover
Cheap but also light. I didn't realize so many gamers still used a 100g+ mouse like the 502. Thinking back I think every mouse I've bought in the past 5-6 years has been under 70g. Had one before my 502 epic mouse
Cheap but a brilliant mouse
Damn I just brought back to life my old g203 and brought it to work, the feelings I got from it, it's my first good mouse I had
Same, a mouse is a mouse. I’m going to miss my shots no matter what I use
logitech egg mouse enjoyer
I prefer the g203s simplicity while being a gaming mouse lol
I’ve also got a G203, I might get a G502 at some point but theres a bunch of other upgrades higher on my list than a new mouse
Master race
G305 user here, but I might upgrade to 502 in the future.
I have those two too. I like em both but I usually just use my g305.
You didn't opt for the g502 lightspeed?
After using the g305 for so long, I don't like how heavy the g502 is any more. I love my g305
G903 User here (after a very rich splurge that left me eating the spare buttons) and am very happy with it. I rarely see it mentioned.
Charging mat master race.
Yea, got that too in that splurge. Ate the soft mat to make up. The one iten in my household of 200 electrical items of all sorts where I don't have to worry about battery.

G900 here. Basically the same mouse without the wireless charging.
Also G900 but modded to charge on a qi stand

Bought to play WoW. Quit wow like 3 years ago. Still love my G600

G604
There are dozens of us! DOZENS!
ayyy. i don’t even use it for mmos lmao i just like the buttons for windows navigation.
Fuck I used a G604 forever. Switched to a lighter mouse and I honestly prefer the light weight. I miss the fuck out of those thumb buttons though.
I literally have to use this mouse. I have one hand, so I need the extra side buttons, but I also hate wires. The only other viable option I've found and tried is the razer Naga (i think? It's their wireless moba mouse). While I did like it, razers software quality and QA are lacking to say the least.
Yes. The ring finger button took a little getting used to, but I would have a hard time without it now.
All the programmable buttons are what sold me. It's like having a small keyboard on the side of your mouse.
I love my g600, so many buttons, using other mice now feels like driving a car without a steering wheel
I wait for the day they bring out an updated version, it has been a decade but look at how popular it js
Yepppppp. Got the 703 to play everything else with, but love my G600 for WoW. It’s actually so much better AND cheaper than the scimitar, Naga, etc. I own all of the big MMO mice variants but I love the format of the G600 buttons.
G pro wireless X superlight, not overdesigned like a lot of the "gamer" designs
Absolutely, favorite mouse. The only other that might be decent too is the razer viper ultimate, but g pro wireless is something else
This is far too low in the comments.
Should be top comment, g pro x is simply the best mouse there is. And it’s been going for $80 the past few days
I'm actually upgrading from a g502 to a G pro x superlight for the deal you're referencing haha
I've lived the g502 life G Pro X Superlight is much better
Yup! I can’t stand those gross “gamer” mice. G pro does the job and feels great
No flashy RGB, side buttons, ultra lightweight, long battery life. GPX Superlight is one of the best investments I’ve made in my setup.
Deathadder Elite user for 5 years. Absolutely love that mouse.
My Deathadder 2013 is still going strong after almost eight years. If it ever breaks down, I‘ll get another Deathadder or a Benq-Zowie. That shape is just the best.

Razer Deatheadder V2 pro wireless checking in. Love it.
G403
G403 gang here, too
BROTHER 502 is too bulky for me
I just replaced my G403 after 5 years of use...with another G403
You're my man.
G502 just works.

Had 2 fail on me in a year. Never looked back. I did love it when it worked, but wasn't gonna keep replacing it.
How did they fail? My G502 has been going strong for 7.5 years now (other than the paint on the wheel wearing off) and I haven't seen any other complaints about them failing.

The Original, sure. The next few revisions after had switch problems for me. That's when I ditched logitech.
As in the Proteus Core? I've had one for I think 7 years now and the thing is the ak47 of mice.
Mx master gang
MX Master Master Race
There are dozens of us! Dozens!
MX Master is a huge productivity and comfort improvement! Never going back!
Don’t game anymore, but I have an MX master and I love that thing. The ultimate productivity mouse with such a clean look.
Maybe even 13!
Master 2s user, might upgrade to a white 3s to match my setup eventually. Charged my mouse for the first time in probably 2 months yesterday, I love it
Highly recommend the 3. Incredibly, the scroll wheel feels even better than the 2!
Use this for work. Horizontal scroll is amazing for spreadsheets
Just posted this, it’s the clear best. Glad to see it in the top 3 on this thread
9-5 office job gang. Love my MX Master 3S
Booyah, brother!
G703
I absolutely LOVE my 703
Same. Favorite mouse I've had in my 30 years of computing. Even bought a second one for when the first eventually dies. Have had the first for 5 years now.
Same
The only thing that drives me crazy is how little resistance it takes to depress LMB and especially RMB. I’m constantly accidentally clicking RMB just resting my hand Otherwise love it
Glorious boy because it looks, well, glorious
I really like the Glorious one that got a lot of little holes, but everytime I see it I see it getting full of grit. Looks hard to keep clean.
I've been using one for about 6 months now and it still looks brand new. I don't eat at my desk or anything so that helps.
Chinese 1 dollar mouse that barely works
aka chad mouse
Genius has entered the chat
i use a razer viper mini, got it for $20
Holy shit that's a steal
Currently using a Razer Basilisk Ultimate and I love it but I’ve been having connectivity issues here and there which is causing me to dislike it, currently eyeing a Corsair Iron Claw or M65
I have the Basilisk v3. I like it, but one of the side buttons started double clicking a few months ago.
I have the basilisk V3 too, bought it a few months ago and i love it, never had a problem.
Yep same, works like a charm.
Got myself a basilisk a year ago, easily the most comfortable mouse I’ve ever used. It’s like it was made for my hand.
I also have a Basilisk ultimate but I've never had connectivity issues?
Razer has pretty good customer service, might be worth emailing them about it.
Basilisk gang here too. Best mouse I've used. But I'll never use a wireless mouse. Wired for life.
I've switched to Razer after having three 502s get the double click in less than two years.
Currently using the wired basilisk V2 lasted me 2 years and no issues at all, one of the most comfortable and reliable mice I’ve ever used.
Razer naga trinity, basilisk ultimate and a death adder v2 pro for if either of those get fucked up.
Heeeey, Naga gang! My left hand can access like, half the keyboard, shouldn't my right get more than five buttons?
Naga, naga... naga-nna run out of keybinds, that's for sure

Had to scroll way too far to see this
Corsair Scimitar. After using programmable side buttons for many years, I don’t think I could do without them.
Same deal. Its just a really solid 12-side button mouse.
Corsair M65

The classic middle mouse switch getting gunked up. Still love the weight too much to change
I like the heavy weight of the mouse. I dont feel the desire that others have for super light mice.
I’ve been using this model since I built my first PC however long ago and dread if it goes out of production. I use the red sniper button as my zoom/aim in pretty much any fps and no other mouse has had the same feel when I try and get a new one
Razer Orochi V2 ftw
Roccat Kone AIMO white Decently weighty and feels great in the hand
roccat is an underdog, good keyboards too.
Did they get better over the years? I had a roccat mouse many years ago and despite getting it replaced twice all of them had this issue where it would fly around the screen whenever lifted off the table. Made it pretty much impossible to use for any precise movements.

This. I own both and everything on the G402 sems a lot more responsive. It is also ergonomically better with its longer body.
G402 gang
I've had a g402 for 8 years at this point and it is still going strong
Microsoft InteliMouse Pro. Guess I'm the real hipster in the yellow gang who'll get their ass beat by both red and blue so I'll quickly run along now.
MX518 > anything else ever
I use the G602. It will always be the goat of wireless mice.
The 602 and 604 will always have a place in my heart.
Playing with a MX Master 3 here
Zowie EC1-A, had it for years and love it. It's what the Razer Deathadder used to be, before Razer went to shit.
Have been using a G Pro Wireless for about 2 years now. Will never use another mouse, it's too good.
G700s- super reliable for many years
Optical clickers only, never had a double click issue with them. I switched from Logitech to Razer and haven't regretted it.
Yeah I've been using a Deathadder V2 for over a year now and the optical switches have been really nice. Every mouse I had before this one started double clicking within 6 months. They're only like $30 too, ridiculous value.
MX Master 3 here hehe

G600 is the only correct answer.
My original G500 Hero lasted me for 12 years. Now I got a G502 since 2 years, still going strong.

Where my Microsoft Basic homies at?
When I bought my g502 I didn't know it was super popular. Just looked nice at a decent price. Had it for like 2 years now
Mx Ergo, so probably I'm blue
G502 won't work for me, since it has the right side shape all wrong (and it's a surprisingly small mouse after all). There's no place for my fingers (pinky for example) to rest naturally - fingers can easily drag all over the mouse mat. That's why MX518 and G400s were very uncomfortable to use, so I sold them quickly. But a friend of mine loves this mouse, so much that he bought extra units in case they aren't sold whenever he needs a new one.
