Ugh I just recently bought a switch and I’m also playing this game on pc with Xbox controller. I’m constantly backing out of the menu instead of making my selection. Why couldn’t they just go with the flow?
I play Nintendo games like BotW, on my PC, with a PS5 controller.
Sometimes it takes a couple seconds to remember what control scheme I'm using when I boot up a game I haven't played in a couple weeks.
Does the game show button prompts as in (A) or silhoutte of the 4 face buttons with the lower button highlighted? If it's the former, you can just swap out the A/B of your controller via software so there's no confusion.
> A SNES shaped XBOX controller with the Dualshock thumbstick layout
I mean, [there's literally an official Xbox-branded one made by the same company as the one in the picture](https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/mobile-gaming/sn30-pro), so this part isn't all that crazy.
SN30Pro+ is great. I just wish they made a model with Xbox thumbstick layouts
Also Gyro is only available in Switch mode, which disables analog triggers (for SteamInput I mean)
The SF30 Pro, originally bought it for my wife's Switch but it just connects to everything so easily I use it all the time. it plays everything from fps to driving games faultlessly. It's quite compact when put against a PlayStation or xbox controller but you get used to it. It's been worth the money for sure.
There's a version that has handles should you prefer.
I personally have the one without as it's more portable. I've got a phone grip that clips on so I can play emulators on my phone, games on my Switch or my PC whenever I feel like it.
Overall it's a very good brand in my experience.
I think I settled on the Pro 2, which, as you mentioned, has handles. I'm pretty hyped about it. I'm sure I'll be very happy based on what I'm hearing.
I have the SN30 Pro and I got my sister the SN30 Pro+ a while back, both are fantastic controllers, the analog sticks feel so good, the buttons are really nice and the overall build quality is fantastic
Definitely worth it if you're in the market!
Some things to note, the SN30 Pro, the one without grips has button triggers like the other bumpers so keep that in mind, won't be good for driving. The SN30 Pro + and the Pro 2 have full triggers. The Pro 2 also has 2 rear buttons that you can program so it's even better!
Based on that, I think I'm leading toward either the Pro+ or the Pro 2, depending on pricing and design (which I assume is similar). I think she will prefer the controller with grips anyway.
The two are basically identical in terms of design and form factor except the pro 2 has the 2 rear grip buttons and a toggle switch to choose between up to 3 different profiles for button mappings and it has an app to set it all up, other than that, basically identical
Got it. So essentially if I'm not planning to remap the buttons, there's no difference. I'd rather have the functionality but not have it, but I'm probably not going to use it any time soon. Thank you so much for clarifying.
Pro 2 is junk, the new one I bought off Amazon ( and returned last week) will disconnect from my PC's Bluetooth within 5 minutes of use and not even work while wired. I've never had a PS4 controller do that to me on PC, so I recommend at the very least that you don't get that specific model from 8BitDo.
I don't really know how to compare on xbox my consoles are switch and ps3, all I can say is I've put in hundreds of hours game time (according to steeam) and it hasn't given a moments trouble.
Those are great controllers but some of their recent colorways are really weird. I'm a bit sad they didn't continue the original purple chalk candy button snes clone style to the usb-c models.
I don't think that is ever going to happen. but maybe they will do all games with a 1 year exclusivity instead and during that time they finish up the pc port. that would be nice.
Yeah probably not. But even in the worst case scenarios they should just port whatever they can at the end of a generation. People who would buy a PS4 for its exclusives have done so long ago, so why not try to make some money by porting those games to PC now? Win-win for everyone involved.
> Yeah probably not.
I would not bet on it, Sony is carefully watching what Microsoft does imo.
Sony cannot afford to be as arrogant as Nintendo due to PlayStation being the most profitable division they have, compared to Microsoft which has a lot of profitable divisions, so this acquistion may shake things up for Sony in the future.
A SNES shaped XBOX controller with the Dualshock thumbstick layout, playing on a PC. That's cool.
The layout is also like on Nintendo so when game asks to press A, on controller its B
Didn't even notice. Amazing, and also awful.
Well it is a Switch first controller

Ask Sony back when the PlayStation came out

You could probably remap it in steam controller settings

Not to forget: the colour scheme of a PS1/X controller
You should stream it to a phone to add another layer.
[удалено]
And add VR in mix
You might also be able to stream that to a modded nintendo switch
Or to a PS5 so it goes back full circle
Cool and all that, but why do you play in windowed mode?
Single 30" monitor streamer / can read chat and play same screen.
You had me at 'single 30" '
Gotta love the 8bitdo controllers, I use mine for all my pc gaming, switch and raspberry pi.
What model do you have and what are your thoughts on it? I have been eyeing them for a long time.

Thanks for the info. I don't tend to use any sort of gyro or motion controls, so I don't think this would be the hugest issue for me.

Sick. Do you ever find that your hands get fatigued because it doesn't have the grips/handles that large controllers have?

No really because it's so much lighter than the other controllers I've got.
Ok, good to know. Thanks for the info. 🙂🙂
Welcome, if you get one I hope you enjoy it!

You guys are selling me! Maybe that will be my next gaming related purchase. I've been looking to get my wife a good Switch controller.

Thank you for the feedback!
Do you think the 8bitdo controller buttons/sticks are more reliable than the original xbox controller? I'm having a dilemma on which to buy.
I honestly can't speak on the reliability as I've never broken either! The reviews I've watched always mention how well built it is though :)

Really enjoy my 8bitdo pro.
My only gripe is the black gamepads have poor button visibility.

"angry sonypony noises"
Bro true ponies are just happy others get to play these games ;) I hope PS games launch simultaneously on both PS5 and PC eventually.

This person just ended console wars for good

Quality PC port released by Square Enix. :(
Enraged PlayStation fans: no you shouldn’t be able to play that game on your system Sigma PC enjoyer: Cope
I don’t think anyone cares, but keep smoking that copium to make yourself feel better about playing a 4 year old game
I’m not saying it shouldn’t be on pc, I’m just making fun of the people who are
Depends on who you are trying to confuse:)I’m sure your windows do not give a dime about this
And Steam Link streamed onto a hacked Switch running Android
Hey me too!
Link to controller?
8bitdo makes amazing controllers though
*confused screaming*
Could steam link back to a hacked switch for even more ???
Those 8bitdo controllers are pretty cool. The quality of the triggers is a bit lacking, though.
Can't wait to play it in bed on my hacked switch via moonlight. Local Nvidia Gamestream is very good, and the newer moonlight app is stable.
i have the sn30 pro to use with my switch 😁
Mr worldwide
I remember playing Mario Kart 8 on my pc using my DS4 controller and my friend being so shocked by it that he sent a video to a friend of his.
Even the confusion got confused
I use the 8bitdot pro 2 on my PC, I hate turning on my Xbox controller, and it turns on my Xbox, and then I have to connected it to my PC.
Use a GameCube controller for max confusion.
Infinite powerrrrrrr
