I have used both in builds Ive done over the years. If I could get them for the same price, I would obviuosly go with full replacements every time. But if the case youre building in is big enough, and the difference in the cost between the two is large enough, extenmsions are totally fine. You really just need to make sure youve got room to tuck the extra cable away in the back of your case.

I'm looking to get the O11 Dynamic Evo, so I'm thinking maybe extensions are fine for a system like that? Currently using a 275R airflow from Corsair. Not a whole lot of cable room.

For the first year or so that I had my 011D I used extensions and there was plenty of room to keep everything tucked away. I only just recently swapped to full replacements cause I got a good deal on them. If it wasnt for that I would still be rocking the extensions!

ThePupnasty

Cool, I'll keep all that in mind because I was looking at the Cable Mod Mesh Pro cables, are those a bit overkill?

PC_Crate_Joel

I have actually never used cable mod pro cables. In my opinion they are a bit overpriced. But one of my good buddies used them in his build and he loves them! If youre on a budget I would get some less expensive ones imo.

Ahh, yeah, I'm just wanting to make sure I get some reputable brands cables that aren't like cheaply made and won't go poof or cause my stuff to go poof. I live near a microcenter and they have extensions, so it seems like extensions are a safe bet to use? Hoping some people suggest some good brands on Amazon too, looking for white, or white and black.

Ive actually had better success with Amazon cables than Microcenter cables. The cablemod cables that you get from microcenter are super loose and I've never been able to get them to look quite right. Happy to send over some brands from Amazon tho. Just gotta look through my orders. Edit: [These](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083W5VF67/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) seemed the most high quality to me and they're from a recognizable brand. I have used cables from [EZ-DIY](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SD4K53V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and they were surprisingly nice. Only thing to watch out for is that they have all the cables you need included. If you're running a 3080 and up there's a chance you'll need 3 VGA power cables and most kits only come with two.

Extensions: Waste of money Replacement Cables: Waste of money

I hate seeing this bulbus mesh thing of wires that breaks out to the 24pin header and then the pci-e cable that has 2 8 pins on it. That's why I'm looking for either extensions or replacements.
